Admittedly I have not had my reversal surgery yet, so can only speak to my experience so far in terms of communication with the office/office manager and an initial phone call with Dr. Guzman. Guzman is one of a few doctors in the country that is known for a procedure called FIMBRIOPLASTY, where he will reconstruct the fallopian tube. Some women will have this done to relieve themselves from symptoms due to tubal ligation. I have even heard of women getting pregnant after getting this procedure performed. I am one of those who is hoping to get this procedure done purely for symptom relief. Since there are only 2-3 doctors in the country that does this, I am hoping it works out. My major criticism so far is how disorganized the process has been. I would need to email the office manager SEVERAL times just to get a response. He has missed scheduled phone calls with me. I was referred to this doctor by my primary physician. There are several things I want to list that I think are very concerning so that people don't go through what I went through. First of all, It turns out that the receptionist that I talked to over the phone to schedule the appointment, advised that It would best to bring cash to cover the copay because there was a charge of 5% to pay with card. * 1st red flag! When I got to their office for my appointment, for which I made sure to be on time, I noticed that there were about 20 or more women in the waiting area. I thought that it was odd, and I could not help to wonder how long it would be for me to be seen. * 2nd red flag! I was handed the paperwork to fill out as a new patient and I would highly advise to be careful as to what you sign. There is this legal form with information in regards to "malpractice" that discloses that if you sign it, you are agreeing to giving up your right to a trial with jurors and that instead a neutral 3rd party would be required. That was concerning given that the average person would not completely understand the legal aspect of this. * 3rd red flag!!! After waiting for an hour an 15 mins in the waiting area I decided I was not going to wait anymore. I went up to the receptionist to let her know I was leaving, she had the audacity to ask if I needed to reschedule. That was UNBELIEVABLE!!! I had asked for the time off at work to be able to go to this appointment and I do get paid for it. However there were people in the waiting area talking about how frustrated they were about having to miss work or running late for other things because of the waiting time at this doctor's office . It is so unfair that this doctor lacks the very basics about ethics's and integrity. The time of the patients is just as valuable as the time of the doctor providing the service. The fact that they schedule multiple patients for the same time slot screams "greedy" "money hungry". The extra fee for paying with a card is ridiculous! Who carries cash nowadays??? And if you combine the over-bookings with that, I am sure it adds up !!$$ it is a shame that some people put up with this type of abuse because they might thing there is nothing that can be done ! I should have sued Guzman 2 years ago. Run far away from this Dr. He was great throughout my pregnancy. Reminded me of a kind grandfather. His office has weird practices like charging more for visits than necessary. I stood up for myself and paid only my co-pay but I could see them taking advantage of the Spanish speaking ladies. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also took my card to get a payment then argued with me saying they gave it back but low and behold it was in the back room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He also tried to make me pay a delivery fee of like $365 before delivering. I refused for weeks and weeks and only after I called insurance and they wanted a statement for what it was did they stop harassing me (he gets paid by insurance after so it was another payment aside from that). should have chnaged drs when I saw all the lawsuits he's been involved in but I was on medi-cal because my husband was in school so I figured I'd stay. Boy, was I wrong! Day of delivery comes and he tells me to get induced because of blood pressure. Labor is going along fine and I'm dancing and moving out the baby (unmedicated so movement is needed). I was told to lay down. I obliged but had to keep begging to get up. I was treated like an epidural patient. He kept trying to move it along faster so insisted that I get a folly bulb to check urine even though I was peeing fine. I rejected. That made him mad. He stormed in and lectured me. Labor still progressing and he comes in and announces he is going to break my water. I literally yelled that I do no consent many times and he shoved his hand in and broke my water while I was screaming. I'm not exaggerating. I knew my rights and I knew I had to consent to everything. He did it anyway and I yelled at him that I didnt consent. He yelled back saying I need to stay in bed and I'm not allowed to get up to go to the bathroom. I did anyways to labor down and get the baby out quicker. 45 minutes after and I'm pushing the baby out on the toilet, move back to the bed and the head is out before anyone comes in. The nurses get the baby out mostly and Guzman walks in and rios him out, handles him roughly, cuts the cord which was against my wishes and stitched me up super rough. It was so traumatizing and I wish everyday that I sued him because he violated me. THE WORST DOCTOR!!! THE WORST STAFF!!! This was my first time seeing a OBGYN and it gave me a traumatic experience. Came to the office 20mins before my actual appointment. They called me after 40mins. Told me to take my bottom clothes off and just take a seat inside a room. Waited almost 2hours half naked!!! No one was checking on me. I put my clothes back on and was about to leave the office when a staff saw me walking out the room and told me to come back in and doctor will see me. Worst place for prenatal care. They ask you to pay your insurance Copay even though you're there for maternity care because it's considered a specialty visit. Aren't only OBs allowed to do prenatal care!? It makes no sense, insurance told me not to pay them anything. & then if you pay them up front you don't even get an ultrasound done on the first visit, they do a women's exam instead for a culture and pap??? Worst obgyn ever. They collect copays for preventive care and it is cash only. I came here for pap smear and they charged me $60 copay stating they are "specialist". Aren't ALL OBGYN specialists?? Then they tell you to come in for your results because they don't disclose your results over the phone or email, nothing. And they collected another copay just to hear the results.. Are you serious? I switched over to another OBGYN and they told me I shouldn't have paid for any of those since it falls under preventive care. Came in for a well Womans exam and was told I have a $200.00 co pay but in cash ?!she stated oh they didn't tell you over the phone ? Would 100000% NEVER recommend this location, Dr or staff. I made an appt and stated I need to remove my implant brith control and have a regular exam. They booked my appointment, I walk in and they asked if I had a mask. I said I don't. They said I can't see the Dr if I don't have a mask. I asked if they had one and they said no. They told me to go CVS across the street and buy one. Why would they not have & provide masks in a MEDICAL office performing MEDICAL procedures??? I went and bought one. I confirmed what I was there for, to remove my birth control and have an exam. They told me they would not remove my birth control until my Dr examined me and HE approved of the removal. Why would the Dr need to approve my removal of my birth control? I was not happy about this. My appt was at 12pm. At 12:47 I went and asked how much longer would I have to wait for my appointment? They said I still have 3 people in front of me. I asked how long they would assume because I had work. They said they weren't sure. All in all the experience was as horrendous. Dr. Guzman is one of the best birth delivery dr. In Whittier hospital he did everything he can so I can I have my newborn baby vaginal. Was praying to God that I have it natural. And so he heard. An also stiched me back up very good and I heard some doctors don't do well on that. But mines did my recovery was fast and when I was in pain I had called the clinic to prescribe meds. So I won't feel pain and got then at cvs right away. Knowing some drs. Always forget or u have to keep calling back but this one didn't. I highly recommend this doctor. I went in one day for an appointment that I waited three hours to see him I asked to use the restroom I went inside and got a little lost I opened up one door and it was an exam room filthy the trees were bloody straps on the bed were bloody dirty disgusting so when I got back out I asked the nurse what the room is used for she said it was the room for circumcision. I could not believe my eyes and what the nurse had told me I have never ever in my entire life encountered such a thing! So then I asked the nurse not to take it personal but how would they sterilize their instruments she then said that they would wash them with just soap and water which is even more disgusting because instruments always have to be sterilized!!!!!!! Dr Guzman was wonderful. Not only did he answer my questions, took time from his busy sch to answer my worried mother's questions also.

Dr. Guzman has excellent bedside manor and truly seems to care for the patient's well-being. More than that, the office staff is friendly and courteous. The office is nothing fancy but it's calm and clean. It was easy to get an appointment on short notice. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that I caught the office staff quietly gossiping about me and my chart, which I thought was very unprofessional. read more

I have been coming to this location under Dr. Sandra Nieto/Dr. Guzman and I am disappointed. It seems to be the norm to wait up to 3 hours for an appointment. The Obstetric appointments are combined with other studies and it seems he is always overbooked. I should have switched groups a long time ago and I have an HMO insurance. This place, I do not recommend at all to anyone they try but unfortunately they fail. I work in the medical field with the IPA that this Doctor is under and it still makes no difference. I believe 2 patients that came in after me were seen before me and that was the last straw. Don't waste your time for vital signs and a 5min visit. My visit before last, the Dr. performed to vaginally invasive procedures and then had the MA take my vital signs after. Of course my heart rate and BP would be elevated. As a Nurse I know that this is a big no no, but that is evidence of how they "try", but they are not successful with patient care. read more
