I've been coming here for over two decades now, and Dr. Kim is extremely knowledgeable and always diagnoses and recommends me with everything that is appropriate to heal me including a fractured arm, eye infection, and general blood work testing. Not to mention that the staff is very responsive and fairly quick to get me checked in. The nurses are also very knowledgeable and great - especially when it comes to the general blood work check up. They were kind (and because I'm afraid of needles) they made small talks to divert my attention to the needle. As for prescription, the staff does an amazing job to make sure that all prescription orders are efficiently and timely sent to the pharmacy that I request. I strongly do not recommend this clinic. Giving even one star feels too generous. I went in for a blood test and later received results, only to be told afterward that the results were incorrect and the test needed to be repeated due to an error on their end. Despite this, there was no clear explanation or follow-up from the clinic. After more than a month, we received a bill, which is what prompted us to call. During that call, there was no apology for the mistake, the delay, or the inconvenience we experienced. Instead, we were spoken to in a confrontational and argumentative manner, being told that because a visit took place, payment was required. It is deeply frustrating to go to a medical facility, pay for care, and then be left dealing with mistakes, poor communication, and an unpleasant attitude. Medical offices should take responsibility for their errors and treat patients with basic respect. I am leaving this review so others can avoid the same upsetting and uncomfortable experience. read more

This medical center is unreliable and extremely unprofessional. Jackie and Isabel are extremely rude, sarcastic, and the most unhelpful front office staff. They made 3 extremely crucial mistakes on my dad's Dr. notes that were meant to be sent to an immigration agency. We were sent back TWO weeks because of them! When my dad went to go talk to them in person, he was meant with extreme sarcasm and incredibly rude remarks! Avoid this place at all costs. NP Jennifer Kim and Dr. Kim misdiagnosed a family member, resulting in a 3-week hospital stay and permanent disability. The worst part is, neither of them had the decency to take responsibility or offer an apology. DO NOT GO HERE. I was very sick one day and was turned away because my insurance was not accepted at this provider. Then, I was billed $100.00 when I was not seen by any doctor or given any treatment whatsoever. When I call to resolve this I keep having rude and hostile agents for this provider argue with me, and when I ask them to provide any proof I was treated or any medical record they have no response but insist I must pay. It has been nearly 2 years since this happened and this provider keeps trying to collect from me, and I explain each time what I explained above. It is not about the money, but the principle. I used to love coming here because the team was so helpful and kind but the office only looks at profit now. Doctor doesn't even sit at the office, it's nurse practitioners. I had to explain what symptoms I have been experiencing with little bit more of details and also had some questions about the medication I am currently taking but seemed he doesn't have much time to talk about those. John Kim at Cerritos Medical Center is highly NOT recommended for any patients. Let me list a couple of reasons from my experience. ! 1. He does not provide a cause of symptom to maximize his profit instead suggest unnecessary time-consumping treatment for even crystal-clear risky cancer which very often make the patient condition too late to take a surgery in time. 2. The special doctors he refers to the patients are 9 out 10 unqualified useless or harmful doctors who will take the patients into wrong treatment. The reference commission, money, is a key factor why John Kim refers to. 3. Office staff, called Julie, is not aware of HIPPA law which protect patient's privacy. This staff speaks broken English and yell in Korean or English to the patient waiting in the office for the result, "You are XXX cancer" or "xxx ". I will report it legally soon. If you really love your loved one in sick, please take time to find a good doctor who seriously takes care of your patient and you never regret it. Over 50% of your loved one's survival chance is depending on your doctor, This doctor is not for you from my experience. Currently I have all documents and test results to take actions against this neglect and careless person and his doctor office. read more

Dr. Kim was really great at first. I liked him as a PCP so I'd overlooke the very rude front staff. When I started issues with my mental health he seemed supportive. As I had a lot of challenges he became less and less supportive, to the point that he would yell at me during my visit. He threw all of his empathy out the window. Just the opposite you need from a physician. I refuse to see him again as he was detrimental to my health. I would not recommend. read more

This review is not based on the doctor. My experience and interaction with the doctor was fine, but this is based on this office and their practice. I came in for preventive care, which is covered 100% by insurance. They asked me to come back in for a follow-up to a blood sample they took. All they did in the follow-up was give me the results and told me everything looked fine, however, they then charging me $96 for this pointless follow-up visit. When I called them to asked for this to be waived, they wouldn't and tried to put the blame on the insurance. They kept telling me they didn't know the insurance policy was only 1 preventive care treatment per year, but they definitely knew this because they have admins that specialize in insurance policies. Not to mention I'm certian most insurance only allow 1 fully covered preventive care visit. At best this is deceiving to the customer for more payment. read more

They are efficient and helpful when it deals with medical papers and work related to insurance situations. After searching for medical clinics this is the one I decided to go to mainly for the location and the up keep of the building is up to my standards. Seeing the building for the first time I felt comfortable and safe as it was in a nice neighborhood. The exterior is painted nicely and there are many signs posted on the walls saying the services they provide. When I made an appointment it was a smooth process. I was able to get the time and day I wanted for the following week. They do not call to remind you the day before, so write down your appointment incase you forget. The interaction with the doctors and nurses was great, everyone was informative and told me directly what I needed and how much everything will cost. The rooms where they do check-ups are clean and organize. All the equipments and supplies are updated and they clean it thoroughly before each patient use. If you need results for tests and vaccinations they are great at calling you back and letting you know it is ready. One negative thing I can say is that the doctors and nurses tend to rush their explanations and what they need to do because there are so many patients each day. They are literally in and out of the room in 10 minutes - you might feel rushed if this is your first time there and not use to their system. If you do not have an appointment they have a sign letting patients know the wait can be as long as 2 hours. With no appointment they might see you closer in the afternoon as patients start to lessen around 3:30PM. I have always made morning appointments and the amount of people in the waiting room is almost out the door. The parking is plenty and you will not have any problem looking for a spot. There are no time limit in all the spots and there are no metered areas even if you park on the side streets. I would try this place first if you do not want the hassles of going to a hospital and paying a lot more for the same services. read more

Late review! I went to Cerritos Medical Center in January for a check up (and a really annoying cough) and was seen by NP Teresa Kim. She was very professional and patient with all of my annoying questions. She recommended a flu shot which was painful but here I am, 8 months later, flu-less so I guess it worked and was worthwhile! The office was also very clean and the lady in front was sweet. Office is also across the street from a really excellent sub place (TJ's - get the meatball. You won't regret it. Will make you forget all about the shot too) which I would also recommend. Will go back again when I need to. read more

I started seeing Dr. John S. Kim last month since my insurance changed. I really like him as a doctor and person. He is very respectful and seems to really care about my health. He is also very personable and is willing to chat about other things. The reason for only four stars is due to the front office staff. Usually the wait is a reasonable 15 minutes though today is was over an hour (albeit I showed up 20 minutes early for my appointment). 30 minutes after my appointment time I finally decided to ask about when I would be seen, I was immediately cut off before I could finish my sentence with the fact that Dr. Kim was running behind. I would have appreciated it if they could have told me when I arrived that it would be about an hour behind, offering the option to wait or reschedule. Dr. Kim was very apologetic. Yes, I will return to see Dr. Kim but only because the service he offers me is worth it. read more

I also had my EGD done at the surgery center operated by the same office and had a good experience. It is easy to schedule urgent appointments and same day appointments. I live in the Norwalk area I must called every Clinic and doctor in my area to see if they would take me a new patient in same day visit , None did . I explained that my husbands insurance was really good most of the time it works, Letting them know ahead of time I've always received VIP service. I just haven't found a primer doctor, Our family doesn't get sick much so The last 4 years living in Norwalk I have used the ER in Whittier. I was in so much pain I had never felt the way I was feeling my throat was so swollen I couldn't even take a sip of water my high fever was to much for me. Cerritos Medical Clinic was the last Clinic on my list that google had provided of Clinics and doctors near me, I called and they said walk ins are WELCOME before 4:00 pm. It was 1:30 we went straight to the Clinic the receptionist was very friendly took our information we waited no more than 15 minutes in the waiting room that was very clean and organized with magazines and a big tv. They called us in and Dr John Kim walked in only a few minutes after very friendly and kind introduced him self and shook our hands Most doctors don't walk in looking at the patient they walk in looking at the clip board and away from the patient. Dr. John Kim did a big SUPER STAR for him for that .He asked me what was wrong and I explained he took a look strep throat he said and gave me a shot and prescription for the pain and said he would see me in 2 weeks. I will definitely see him in 2 weeks and if anyone in my family gets sick This will be the place for us from now on. Very actually extremely happy with this Clinic, I had lost the trust I had in doctors and tried my best to avoid any doctors even when we are sick I stock up my medicine cabinets full every year and use the ER of needed. The Cerritos Medical Clinic and Dr. John Kim have made me trust that there is still Good caring doctors.
