I was very hesitant about eating from Guzman Y Gomez as the fast food appearance put me off a little, I am a huge fan of Mexican food, but takeaway Mexican usually puts me off. I was pleasantly surprised with Guzman Y Gomez breaking the cycle. Although the menu is nothing out of the ordinary (which if fine) and the food is not the best Mexican I have ever eaten, it is still very good and I would absolutely go back. I ordered the Beef Guerrero Burrito, which is a mild slow roasted beef option and was immediately impressed to discover the use of shredded beef, rather than mince, also the portion was very large. The only problem was the venue is small and it is not the kind of food you can really eat while walking along, as it is a little messy, so it is a bit tricky to find somewhere to sit. I did manage to grab a seat as someone left, you have to be fast though.

Guzman Y Gomez is perfect for a quick bite or a Mexi-hit. They've got a bunch of outlets around the traps with a focus on fast food made healthy. I've gotten a little addicted lately, but it's just so. Damn. Good. Cheap + fast + delicious = what more could you want mid-week? You can order online, but that just seems super lazy and rather pointless when it takes two minutes to make it fresh in-store. They also offer catering. The corn chips with guacamole are dangerously addictive, as are the vegetarian black beans. The gluten-intolerant can still join in, with quesadillas and soft corn tortilla tacos on offer. I'm a massive fan of the burritos, which are $6.50 for mini (which are actually huge) and $10.50 for regular. Fancy marinated, grilled chicken with tomatillo salsa? Try the spicy chicken guerrero. Delish!

burrito, chips & guac, and a soft drink ~$20

the burrito was really good! I would describe he restaurant as a hole in the wall cafe, as in its a smaller restaurant with not a lot of seating. you can take out the food and eat it somewhere else like home or sit in. pricing was standard for what I was expecting. burrito, chips & guac, and soft drink for about $20. will totally come here again when craving a burrito. it might be even better than chipotle!

Mexican food is becoming quite popular in Sydney but Guzman Y Gomez have been flying the flag down here for a while. It's flagship store on King Street in Newtown is a little beauty and popular with not only locals but visitors too who come for a burrito or taco and like to wash it down with a beer or if you're feeling game, a margarita! I've been there a few times and find it hard to go past a burrito. I know I should branch out and try what else they have to offer but I don't want to. I like the burrito's! After one of those and a refreshing beer I'm quite content and need a little lie down. There's a few stores around the place but try and get round to King Street. You won't be sorry!

. Although, I guess you could always pull the "hoes in Kings Cross" maneuver and sit in a row on the curb

They did seat us under a staircase and it was annoying hearing the heavy footsteps stomping up and down throughout dinner service. The food was very good to stellar! As others have mentioned, the Tacos are King here. Tartare Tacos are amazing, and we loved the Salmon Civiche and the carnitas tacos, as well. Flathead Civiche was delicious, Brussels Sprouts were super tasty, and we also enjoyed the twice cooked Pork Belly. Not so good was the Pato Ahumado. The mole was really tasty but not enough, and the breast was really tough and fatty, plus no proper cutlery provided. Really disappointing, as we couldn't eat or enjoy it and it was like we just threw $72 away. While I did appreciate their coursing, we did wait for long periods between. Cocktails were good, as was a glass of wine, but pours are very light. Recommended, for sure. Avoid the duck.

The tacos were amazing!! The chips and dip were also very good and had a nice balance of flavor. Was something unique that I had not tried before. Everything tasted high quality with a large depth of flavor. Would highly recommend!

And I gave i another try. I don't even remember what I had last time but this "spicy pulled pork burrito" was... gorgeous! I don't know what to call that substance.. Maybe itus?(The Chappelle Show, anyone?) That mildly addictive and super satisfying flavor can be known as "umami"? Anyways, it was full of it. I envy people who work near here for having this place as their lunch option. Should I consider a career change?

Hard to believe all of this, hey. But it happened. This is Asfhield 2131. No doubt levels of rudeness and food and drink qualities vary - it's a franchise, I think. Lodged a complain with g and g online. don't expect any joy there so bye bye to poor coffee and the rudest service I have ever experienced in my life - I'm a pensioner - and a nice guy, btw.
