Really hard to book, hard to get over the phone plus cancel on me last minute for my birthday reservation.

We had an INCREDIBLE experience with this Cruise America team. I believe it's a husband and wife…read morethat own the company, and they absolutely couldn't be more kind. The team members were helpful and generous and we LOVED our RV. We ran into one small problem after leaving (the water pump was draining all the water from the RV), but we figured it out and when we returned the RV, they actually compensated us for the inconvenience. Not only that, but thanks to the TINY side roads and awful potholes in Atlanta streets, we sadly knocked off a side mirror the evening before returning the RV. I've had so many experiences where rental companies overcharge and completely screw you if anything is damaged, but these guys were so kind and helpful and charged us less than the actual cost of replacing the mirror because of the water issue that had come up. WOW! Totally unheard of this day and age! Suggestions and information for the actual RV itself: Be savy! You'll need to be able to figure out where the hose to attach the water to the pump at your campsite is as well as how to plug in, turn on the heater, drain the sewage, convert the seats to beds, and other small things. We ran into a couple kinks with our RV like the furnace for heat didn't actually turn on when I turned it on. I had to take the face plate off, watch where the metal was striking, and make sure it was making contact. Worked perfectly after that. The water was draining continuously out of the RV even when attached to the city line. All I had to do was look under the RV, see where the drain led to and turn the nob to "off." No problem. Extras you'll pay for: it's about $15 to refill the propane, which you use to heat the RV and to cook. If you use the generator, it charges by the hour and the cost is pretty high. We rented for a weekend though and didn't use the generator AT ALL. You will have to dump the sewer line yourself or pay $35 for them to do it for you. It fills pretty quickly though, so if you have it for more than a weekend, you'll probably have to do it anyway. You pay $35 to winterize the vehicle for use in below freezing temps. Gas is quite expensive. When budgeting make sure you account for this! You pay $0.35/mile you drive. We drove less than the 300 miles we paid for when we rented, so we got a refund for the miles not used. THANK YOU SO MUCH to the team at this rental facility. You guys made our Christmas. Would recommend 100%! :D

This was by far the worst RV rental experience we've ever had. We rented this RV for a very…read moreimportant reason my mom recently suffered a serious stroke and couldn't fly, so my wife and I rented an RV to transport her safely and comfortably. Unfortunately, the RV had problems from the beginning. At pickup, the tire pressure warning light was already on, but I was told it was just a malfunction. We later discovered a tire had a significant flat spot that caused loud noise and severe vibration, forcing us to drive around 55 MPH or less for most of the trip. We also experienced: * Refrigerator failure that ruined over $400 worth of groceries * Refrigerator door repeatedly opening while driving * Ants throughout the RV * Cockpit A/C that stopped blowing cold after about an hour * Generator randomly shutting off despite having over half a tank of fuel * A persistent sewer smell throughout the RV Because we had to drive significantly slower due to the tire issue, our trip took longer and we were charged for two additional rental days. What bothered me most happened when I returned the RV. I explained every issue before the employee inspected it. Afterward, he said the RV would be tagged to go to a mechanic. I was also charged $177 for generator usage. He then offered to waive the $177 charge because of our unpleasant experience but only if I signed a waiver/affidavit agreeing not to leave a negative review. I declined and told him I would rather pay the $177 and have the ability to honestly share my experience. His demeanor immediately changed, and he asked if I was going to "bash" his business when I walked out the door. I told him no I was simply going to share exactly what happened. I understand mechanical problems happen, but this was one issue after another during an already stressful medical transport. We've rented RVs before and have never experienced anything like this. I sincerely hope Cruise America properly inspects this RV before renting it to another family.
