I have been working in healthcare as a nurse for 5 years and as a nurse practitioner for 3 and have had experiences with many doctors, nurse practitioners, and nurses. I can honestly say that Womens health care does it right. The OB nurse you see at your first visit is sweet, comforting, and will answer all of your questions. The lovely receptionist explained that there have been numerous complaints and quickly apologized for the inconvenience and explained that due to moving locations and switching hospitals they systems were not working as they should have. They said they are working on the issue as we speak. Always love to see a place of business solve problems in an expedited and professional way! Kudos Westmoreland OB/GYN. Everything about my experience was top notch from the phone call making the appointment to the post appointment follow up. When I made my appointment, I was given detailed instructions about not only the appointment but also about where to park and how to get to the area where the test would be done. I was told to arrive around 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork so I did. It took me about 5 minutes to fill out the paperwork and they took me in almost exactly at my 9:30 appointment time. The staff was friendly and courteous. It was wonderful that the doctor explained every step of the test so I understood what was going on and what he was looking at. The nurse was equally as friendly and informative. Overall, the service was better then I expected and I will no longer be hesitant if/when I have to make a return appointment.

First off, this office is highly mismanged. I was getting ready for an upcoming surgery, and they…read moreasked me 6 times in one month about paying a bill that was already on a payment plan. The staff also treated me like I was a walking bank account. Dr. Opieda is very nice, however she is always in and out and doesn't take time to answer questions. I have Chiari, and it really messes with my major systems. She acted like it was no big deal and didn't listen to me. Then, after I went to Hershey, they told me it was not medically necessary to have my ovary removed, something I had let Dr. Opieda make a quick decision about in the OR. Also, I had to get my records faxed to Hershey, and they did not do it after I waited for the woman to come back from vacation. To get paper copies, I had to knock on a window to get the office manager to unlock the main door as two staff members sat in reception, doing nothing and talking about their upcoming weekend. Also, when they sent me paper bills, they used my mothers' first name instead of mine. Then, when I corrected the manager on the phone, she PROCEEDED to use my mother's name. Ridiculous! This is not my experience, but a woman sat in the waiting room, crying on her cell phone, that she was required to go to wound care because her surgical site got infected. STAY AWAY.

When I called to my make my initial appointment, I had to give some basic information and wait for a callback from the office manager to decide to accept me as a new patient. She did. It only took a week to get in and it partly took that long due to my lack of availability. I am used to a newer, high tech practice. This one was very different. They still use paper charts and a computer system that seems to be an ancient DOS. I can overlook all of that because the care is what's important. I saw Dr. Bisacco. He is an older (50s?) guy and was dressed casually. No scrubs or lab jacket. He thoroughly answered all of my questions but I only had very few questions since he explained my treatment so thoroughly.
