Among all the restaurants in the "mini mall", Gypsy's Lair Art Cafe stands out because of its unique architectural design; the artsy and bright decor is inviting and interesting. :) The cafe is a bit off from the main road in Puerto Princesa. So, it is quite far from the other well-known restaurants. But, it is worth going to. Once you enter the place, you'll see many quirky artworks all over the walls, stairs...everywhere! Although my friend and I only stayed for dinner and a few drinks, this would be a good place to chill out either alone or with friends. The food did not disappointment. They have a variety of food to choose from. So, we asked the waiter for his recommendations. We tried their best-seller, the Ribs, which were very tender and the serving was enough for 2 people. Other dishes we tried were the Chicken Burrito (served fresh with salsa verde), Pin-Thai (the pinoy version of Pad Thai) and Tom Yum Soup (just the right amount of spicyness and sweetness, I finished that all by myself). Try their Pandan shake and Guyabano shake! Great way to quench your thirst on a hot day. :) Overall, this is really a great place to dine and watch the minutes go by. Nice upbeat music, good menu options and quick service are the highlights. It's a cozy place and one of the places you must visit in Puerto Princesa! :)

We had the fried fish sandwich, green curry, and a ground beef dish I don't remember the name of. All were complex, flavorful, and well balanced. Didn't try the Mexican food but I think it would be a safe bet. Try it, you won't regret it. This place would be at home on Ventura Blvd or Melrose.

He also took the time to ask me exactly how I like my coffee as well as what kind, flavors, brewing method, everything! Armed with that information, he created a remarkably enjoyable coffee experience that this well-traveled coffee lover will never forget. Tucked down the alley next to the "Dreamcare Massage" sign and across the street from Pinoy Litson Manok, this place is definitely worth seeking out. They roast themselves a variety of origins, including local Philippine coffee, and have desserts and snacks as well. Enjoy your coffee! :-)

This isn't exactly a bad thing, but can be a problem when the weather is rainy. Therefore, I wished this place offered more indoor seating. While my partner and I managed to find indoor seats, the place does get cramped. There are also three self order kiosks which helps make the ordering process faster by separating those paying by card versus cash. Luckily, those who pay by cash like me are quickly attended to by the cashier. This surprised me since most of the time in the USA the cashiers will ignore me and point me to the kiosk. The food was good and I think it's cute how rice is served wrapped like a burger. In the USA rice is served in a plastic cup but the sizing between the two felt about the same. The burger steak I think is also smaller here but tastes better. The meat tastes fresher and the spicy chicken here has a little spice. Unlike in the USA the spicy chicken lacks any spice. It used to be spicier but I don't know why they changed it to where it's not noticeable. As a result, I liked the way food tastes at Jollibee in the Philippines a lot more than the USA. The only reason why I won't give this place five stars is because of the cramped venue and slower service compared to other Jollibee spots in the Philippines.
