H&H automotive saved the day!!! We were headed to spicer campground and we had the low coolant turn light on. We were stopped by the highway 4 with 5 littles en tow. We decided to drive further and found this body shop nearby. They were kind enough to drop everything to help us out. It turns out it was the radiator. They gave us an estimate an hour repair time and we were back on the road. Everyone was so kind and we definitely appreciated all the help. My family and I were heading through Angel's Camp on our way into the mountains on vacation. Our vehicle began making a loud noise, so we looked up the nearest automotive repair shop and drove in without an appointment. The staff were friendly and courteous, they diagnosed the cause of the noise quickly and accurately, acquired the necessary part from a nearby supplier, and performed the repair while we waited. It took about three hours start to finish. I was very impressed by their knowledge, their understanding and responsiveness, and the quality of work they performed. Hopefully I will never have another emergency like this, but it's good to know that I have a place to go if I need to. read more

COMPLETELY AWFUL! NEVER GOING BACK Took my car to get a door fixed, told I had to pay another auto body shop to remove the door and front fender! Went to pick up to find a better automotive shop and discovered on way home that THE MECHANIC BROKE THE DOOR EVEN MORE!!! Took back and discovered the mechanic just pulled on the door until it broke! Claimed "stuff breaks"!! Wouldn't discount the added damage or even fess up to it!! THE started yelling at me!!! Worst service I have ever seen!!! Had a brake problem while visiting Angels Camp. H & H Automotive had the most reasonable quote for rear brake job for my 2004 Sequoia. They squeezed me into their tight schedule and they replaced the rear rotors and pads in less than an hour. Thanks to Jim and his crew we were able to head home safely the next day. DON'T go to the other 2 auto shops who tried to charge me with an arm and a leg. H & H has the MOST HONEST quote, as I checked with my friend mechanic in San Jose. These people are the absolute best. I would recommend them to everyone, and we will definitely go back to them again. My 91-year old mother-in-law lives at a retirement home in Angel's Camp. They drove over and got her car, took it to their shop, did the repair, and drove it back to her. The car had further problems, and they did everything to make it right, including going back and picking up the car again and returning it again. We belong to the Sierra Angel's car club, and someone from the club had recommended H&H. We appreciate the recommendation, and pay it forward by telling everyone in the Yelp community to try these guys. They are great! read more

I do not recommend this business, if I could leave negative Stars I would. As far as there "dedicated, ASE-certified mechanics have years of experience under their belts" A mechanic from this shop hit my vehicle with another clients vehicle. Jim the owner never contacted me, I spoke to him 26 hours later after I found out what happened to my vehicle. He explained to me that his mechanic "missed the brake" I had video footage and this idiot completely destroyed my truck, I was then given his insurance companies info. battled with them for a month just to be told my vehicle wont be repaired and will be totalled out. When I tried to explain to jim what was happening I was hoping he would step up and fix my truck, since It was entirely his fault. You live in a small community like angels camp for 20+ years, you would hope for a little compassion from the owner. It was more like talking to a politician. he would not help me at all and I am now left with no truck and not enough money to replace the truck I had. ************Don't go to this place, they can't even drive a vehicle, let alone work on one.********** read more

I can highly recommend this shop. We had a flashing check engine light and an engine 'shudder' that had us pretty worried. They understood we had a scheduled trip to the bay area, and squeezed us in. They checked the error code, diagnosed the problem and had us back in the car in under 3 hours for what I thought was a reasonable rate. I have a 2017 Ford F-350 I busted my front axle they replaced the ball joints axle One year ago Only driven the truck 9000 miles and everything they replaced went out including ball joints also noticed that my axle it was leaking oil they told me that they never replaced the only gasket for the axle shaft they did not replace it nor did they asked me if i wanted it replace they warranty the axle and ball joints on the left side at this time they gave me a list of repairs that needed to be done including axle on the right side I had just had a laser alignment done on my truck spending over $200 they told me that they would do another alignment on my truck to make sure the truck was perfect when I got it back just picked my truck up and my batteries were dead and these are only a month old the mechanic shut my aluminum body truck hood with his elbow and as soon as I leave my steering wheel is turned a quarter of the way to the right while I'm going straight down the road what happened to test driving and double checking work why wasn't my batteries charged overnight it's Monday they could've left my truck on a battery charger over the weekend I would not recommend this place because of the lack of care for my vehicle and obviously they don't check their work otherwise during a test drive it would be very easy to see my steering wheel turned to 3 o'clock on top of all that my inside of my truck has grease on the dash and the steering wheel, very dusty like they left my windows down this is a $85,000 truck and they take care of it like it's a $5000 car this is the reason I would never recommend this place to any of my friends please beware. read more

I can't say enough nice things about the people that own and run this repair place. I was in a pinch when my fan belt broke 20 miles away during a vacation. We were towed back to this repair place, and from the first to the last interaction with staff, it was pleasant and professional. The first mechanic came out and diagnosed the problem right in front of us, actually showing me why the belt broke, and that the problem was more severe than we thought. I know, I know, classic mechanic shtick, but no, he was absolutely right and I could obviously see the problem he pointed out. The pulleys were loose and one was busted open revealing the bearings. Despite not having the right parts available to do the job the same day, they were able to import the right parts and have them installed by 1pm the following day. Super fast! Also, most notably, the original estimate for parts and labor was $1050 because they had to remove my AC compressor to replace the tensioner, which added 3 hours of labor. Well, when the new tensioner arrived, they realized they could just remove pulley from the new tensioner and replace it, circumventing the need to replace the whole unit, thereby saving 3 hours of labor, reducing the price to $650. This is unheard of!! They really could have easily kept their original estimate and made more money, but they were super honest and saved me a ton of money. I thanked them with a bottle of Whiskey which they seemed to appreciate enthusiastically. This is a great, family run business! Thank you!! --Anthony and Sean. read more

This review is long over do but I found myself thinking about these crooks. I had a 1999 BMW 3 series that was leaking coolant from these fittings connecting the heater core to the engine. These guys told me they had to take my whole interior apart and replace the heater core as those fittings they claimed were connected to iit directly and part of the unit. They flat out lied. Brought it to a BMW mechanic and he sold me the fittings for 40 dollars and I replaced in an hour. Probobly thought I was some dumb city slicker. Watch out if your not local and have a European car. These guys suck big time read more

If something was wrong that they caused they fixed it at no additional cost even though it took more time. They have even fixed a few things without charge that I didn't come in to have serviced.
