Unfortunately, the experience after I left completely overshadowed what should have been a relaxing afternoon. Shortly after leaving, I received a voicemail stating that they couldn't find my gift card, that my services hadn't been paid for, and that I needed to bring the gift card back immediately. The message also stated that if the balance wasn't taken care of, a police report would be filed. As someone who had never been there before, this was incredibly upsetting and caused me a great deal of anxiety. I immediately called back, explained that I had handed over the gift card during checkout, and was told they would review their security cameras and call me back. A short time later, they did call to let me know they had found the gift card and that everything had been resolved. While I appreciate that they investigated and corrected the mistake, the damage had already been done. Being threatened with police action over an error that was not mine completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing self-care experience. Because of how the situation was handled, I canceled my future appointment and decided I would not be returning. It's unfortunate because the massage therapist provided excellent service, but the checkout process and the way the situation was communicated left a lasting negative impression. I hope the business reviews its procedures so that no other customer has to experience the unnecessary stress and embarrassment that I did.
