Definitely my favorite H&M to check out as it is right in the heart of downtown. Love the ambiance, music and location. Easy to navigate. I just don't like that there is never anyone available to help and the insanely long lines. The quality of their clothing is hella awesome. Great place to shop if you're into an edgy look. I am yet to be disappointed by any item I have both at this location.

This is a huge H&M with lots of floors. The store was super clean and organized. The staff was really friendly and helpful. They had some great deals when we went. I will definitely be back.

It clearly shows that company does not care for their employees, because non of them care! Everyone there walking around like they are high, Cashier did not ask tor my info so I can get points for my purchase , once I reminded him , he gave me all of these steps I must do in order to retrieve the points . Don't understand why in 2020 a simple phone number does not do the justice , like it's done in all Nordstrom stores. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and

I don't really like this store and a brand in general. The clothes quality is low. Also it is hard to find something really nice there.

The reason why we went to this shop was because they had the H&M home collection and we're severely interested in that. So we make a bee line for the top floor to check out their house pieces. It figures, they do need to evolve as well. H&M shoppers are growing up, they're starting to rent apartments and buy houses. You know, grown up stuff. So it just makes sense to sell grown up things. The over all shopping experience would've been great. That's if the check out wasn't so "RATCHET". I used my "Samsung Pay" to pay for my throw pillow covers. Her exact words were. "If you're gonna use credit, im gonna need to see your credit card and an ID." I replied, "I don't think I could do that since I just paid with my phone." She insisted I give an ID and a credit card. So I gave her my phone with the card used and my ID. She then was like, "I can't see your name on that phone credit card. You're gonna have to show me something with your name on it." I grabbed my Hilton Credit card which is my back up credit card. It's not even the same credit card used to purchase the items. That totally satisfied this associates ratchetness and gave me my receipt for my puchases. This was highly uncescessary, her attitude and her ignorance was very frustrating. I was very very close to asking for a manager, but I'm not that type. Please have your associates trained in new technology that you guys currently have. I would hate for someone to go through what I went through. Specially the fact that she spoke loud enough for everybody to hear. It's quite embarassing for the store she clearly represents.

0 stars for customer service...because what customer service? But 3 stars for the fact that they have the home collection here! Today we spent a family afternoon taking our kiddos around Michigan Avenue to do a bit of shopping. We stopped in to H&M to purchase a couple of jackets for our boys. It was super quiet in there (and I know how crazy this place can get), and yet getting any service was like pulling teeth. First off, we saw a jacket we liked and asked one of the associates if it was possible for him to check around to see if they had a bigger size in any of the locations. He said they don't do that and suggested we download the app and figure it out from there (ummm...we've done that before). Then, I went to hang something up on their wall rack, and the entire rack fell down with a bunch of jackets. I found a sales assistant to let her know what happened. She seemed annoyed and tried to be as nice as possible. I even offered to assist her, but she didn't want my help. Okay, the good. I was super excited to see the home collection live and in person, because I had only seen it online. Some of the collection felt like a mix of Crate & Barrel, Target, and The Home Store. I loved the bedding/bath options. The linen sheets seemed really fresh and springy, and they had some soft fluffy towels and fabulous throws. I did see some blankets on a rack that were super thin and didn't seem very soft. My top favorite items were the linen bathrobes in soft muted colors, and the Mr. and Mrs. glasses for the spa bathroom. Ooh, wait, the stuff for kids bed and bath was super cute too. I still love the many levels of clothing options at H&M, and you can always find a great deal for a last minute fun dress. Yes, even though the service sucked, I would still shop here for me and my kiddos. It's hard to pass up a clothing store packed with a boat load of merchandise for a great bargain.

Store has a large selection. Checking out can take some time and more cashiers are needed.

It's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of any department (I was calling nearly all of them). And the only department that picked up was Finishline. Jose from this department helped me immensely trying to wrangle the women's shoe department, calling me back to check on my inquiry when I called towards closing and was waiting for a call back from the department I was really trying to reach. I had to do my entire purchase over the phone, as this store was the only store to have the shoe I wanted in my size (I live in a different state), and I needed it ASAP for a special event. Since I called towards closing, I was supposed to get a call back. The women's shoe department failed to do so, so I called finishline again the next day (took me them an hour to pick up). It just felt like a lot of teeth pulling, but finishline and the manager of the men's department (Leticia I think but I don't remember I'm so sorry!) were really trying so hard to get the right apartment together (they physically had to run up stairs to communicate to them)! Super sorry I inconvenienced all the wrong departments, but I am immensely grateful for them! I got my shoes in time. Thank you! But please fix your phones at the cash registers or tell corporate to change the messaging in the automated phones because it was super frustrating spending hours trying to ring a phone.

I needed to find my bridal shoes and she needed to start looking at bridesmaids dresses. First of all, this is one of the prettiest Macy's I've ever been inside. I'm not sure if this is a normal big city thing, but feels like the entire store was just Macy's and not a mall which was cool. There seemed to be a lot of special deals on different items. Most of it was what you'd expect from a Macy's in terms of pricing. We had so much fun in the shoe section. They had a gorgeous selection of shoes to pick from. I ended up falling in love with some bridal shoes from Dolce Vita. I was so happy to be able to order them for pick up at my store back home so I didn't need to fly with them. We also tried on some other gorgeous shoes like ballet heels. In terms of formal dresses, it felt like they still mainly had their winter selection out, so we weren't able to find the exact green bridesmaid dress we were looking for, but we did get a good idea of what looked good vs what didn't. I highly recommend coming to this Macy's.

**Kari's Rating: 8/10** *(Would easily be a 9.5/10 if the beauty department weren't so…read moreoverwhelming.)* TL;DR * The beauty associates are *far* too aggressive--it feels impossible to browse without being approached every few seconds. * The café is still one of my favorite places in Chicago. * Free alterations on Nordstrom purchases and $25 for outside items is a huge plus. I've lived in River North for over eight years, and honestly, there's no place quite like Nordstrom. I grew up coming here with my mom, sitting in the café, eating pizza, and leaving with a "Nordy" balloon. Those are some of my favorite childhood memories, and to this day I still think about their margarita pizza. Now that I'm older, I bring my dog shopping with me, and she absolutely loves all the attention from the associates and other shoppers. We've been to the café countless times, and she would unquestionably give the kids' chicken and veggie meal a 10/10. Nordstrom is still my go-to department store because it's convenient, consistently carries the brands and style I wear, and the customer service outside of cosmetics has always been excellent. It's the first place I think of when I need clothing, shoes, or gifts. That said, the beauty department has become incredibly frustrating. I completely understand that many of the makeup associates work on commission, and I genuinely respect that they're doing their jobs. But there is a huge difference between being available to help and making customers feel like they can't exist in the department without being approached. Every time I walk through the makeup area, I can barely look at a product before someone is asking if I need help. If I say "I'm just browsing," another associate from a different brand approaches me literally seconds later. Then another. Then another. It gets to the point where I'm being interrupted every few steps. Instead of enjoying the experience, I feel anxious and rushed. I don't get to compare products or discover something on my own because I'm constantly trying to politely decline conversations. It honestly feels less like shopping and more like running a gauntlet. Ironically, the constant pressure makes me want to spend **less**, not more. I've actually skipped buying products because I just wanted to get out of that section as quickly as possible. I still love Nordstrom and will continue shopping here because it's my favorite department store and has everything I'm looking for. I just wish the beauty department adopted a more relaxed approach. Customers should be able to browse comfortably and ask for help when they're ready--not feel like they're being followed every few seconds.
