This Nordstrom Rack had a pretty good selection of inventory! I was able to pick up a few pieces for myself by Adrienne Papell and some house slippers for my hubby. The total came out to be less than what I had expected which was a nice surprise. Didn't have to wait long to pay either and change rooms were relatively empty. Although I did go on a Thursday. Parking is expensive around this area so my hubby dropped me off to shop. Also it's right next to my other favorite shop, Uniqlo! I apologized and cashier continued to be rude. I didn't even want the product anymore cuz of her attitude and said nevermind, then both of the cashiers laughed as I walked away. Not really comfortable with my experience today. I went in to look at shoes and picked some, and since the handbag section was just in front of the registers I took a swing through. After looking a few minutes I found a woman with keys for the bags that were locked up. She was helping a couple other customers so I waited and she unlocked the ones I was interested in. Where it kind of went off the rails is that she had no problem letting the other people wander around with the bag that they had, which had also been locked, rather than take it up to the register for them to get when they checked out. In my case, she unlocked it and immediately was going to take it up to the register, she didn't ask if I wanted her to or take it with me as I shopped as she did the others. That was pretty bothersome to me. I ended up not buying, mostly because I saw it at another store and could have sworn it had a longer optional strap at that location and I want to check into that. But I can't say that this experience in part turned me off of making the purchase here. read more

This store is the subject of much discussion due to the discrimination from its employees. I arrived to pick up a customer's Uber Eats order, and the employees were rude to me. They didn't take my order seriously, even though it was supposed to be ready. I waited almost an hour to pick it up, and the order still wasn't ready. Then several customers started asking if I had been in line, and I said yes, I had. But one customer insulted me and made me feel uncomfortable. I've never insulted women, so I chose not to respond to her. She was very rude and disrespectful. The employees were also disrespectful and rude to me. I politely asked if my order was ready, and they simply ignored me, as if I were a cockroach or some kind of vermin, or someone worthless. Racism is making a comeback, and it's horrible. read more

I was asked to work a security detail at a high class social club with only 20 hours notice, while working for a week in Chicago during the DNC. Only issue: I only had tactical cargo pants and polos with me.... I have NO formal wear with me!! I went to Nordstrom Rack and found Gus in the men's section. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to fashion (outside of tactical gear), but Gus did a great job showing me where I could find everything. He also confirmed that the colors and patterns I picked would look great for the job! (I'm not kidding when I said I'm clueless with fashion). I love a good deal, so I was excited to visit Nordstrom Rack. This store is in a prime location, but can get so crowded that it's difficult to navigate the store to browse. Often on the weekends the line for the register snakes around much of the first floor. If you are patient enough to deal with the crowds or can come during off hours, you can usually find some pretty great deals. I particularly enjoy the beauty and home goods sections. Overall, Nordstrom Rack is a great place to browse when you have time to kill, but it's not a place I seek out intentionally nor is it where I go when I need something specific or want to shop efficiently. read more

This is my favorite Nordstrom Rack location! Too bad it's far for me so it's not my normal location because I don't live downtown. This location is two floors: the first floor is mostly accessories and purses, while the second floor is shoes and clothes. They sell great brands here for pretty cheap, and for a Nordstrom Rack, this location is pretty clean. The workers here are very nice and I've never had a problem with anyone. Most have very friendly and personable personalities. They sell Nike, Adidas, Michael Kors, Steve Madden, Hunter boots, Converse, and much much more. I bought Nike shoes for only $60! I love shopping here. The last time was a bit tough as I am looking for summer stuff and they had a great sale on fall and spring items. Lots to buy. Shoes and purses some of best items. Hair care items and bath items too very nice prices. Great brands on a deal. Brand names like Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Dooney Bourke, Marc Jacobs and much more. Love the purse and shoe selection. No hassle returns and friendly staff.However, some merchandise looks dated and defective and prices seemed higher than usual on my last visit. The shoe section is kinda like treasure hunting, classified by shoe size rather than a regular display. Don't forget to check out the makeup section where you can find awesome brands ,discounted! It was a bit of a hassle and tiring when I was looking for an outfit for my friend's birthday party. The theme of her party was white and black so I need some plain white dress. I entered 6 stores before I found a dress that suited my taste. It has a simple long white dress with some white flowers on it. It was simple yet elegant to look at. After I bought my dress, I also bought sandals. I'm thinking if I will buy them with heels or flat sandals. They have lots of sandals so I have a lot of choices. Some staff assisted me. If I choose sandals and I give my sizes they will give me those sandals with my sizes. They are helpful and kind. Good job for the great service! The rationale behind my four (4)-star rating is the men's shoe department. If your feet are like a mini-boat and have the ability to cruise on the Lake Michigan, this Nordstrom Rack has your sizes! Hubby had a blast looking at tons of choices on size 13. If you're a man attempting to find shoes, stop by this Nordstrom Rack location before proceeding to other retailers. Most shoes that hubby purchased came from various Nordstrom Rack locations. Hubby in the end purchased a pair of corduroy pants for $30 after tax. They occasionally run the "clear the rack" promotion at or after certain holidays, meaning you can save an additional 25% off, on the lowest ticketed prices, on the red-tag items. I typically take an advantage to buy something for myself or hubby during that time. read more

I went there to pick up my online order, I had to wait for 10 min as there was only one lady to help and she was on the phone. After all the wait, she yelled at me in front of everyone and told me I cut in line. Meanwhile, I was standing right behind the person who she was helping and no one else was even there when I arrived. I have a feeling she snapped at me because she was frustrated at the last customer or because of my race and color of skin. I talked to the managers and they didn't offer any solution or any words of apology. I won't return to this store and I think they need to work on their customer service and professionalism in a way more serious manner. I still can't believe that she yelled at me in front of the whole line of people waiting for her for 10 min. What kind of behavior is that? Used to love going to Nordstrom Rack... until this morning. Yesterday, I purchased a pair of super cute Steve Madden shoes that were not in the best condition and on the clearance rack. They were only $20, which I thought was a great deal. There were two tags on both shoes(pictured) one was underneath and you couldn't see the tag prior. When arriving to the cash register, I asked the lady if they could provide any more of a discount due to the scratches and marks. She told me that they don't discount any more than what the tag says. That is understandable if the product is new. But, this was a different case. What was left out was these shoes were "worn and refurbished". The new clearance tag posted over the old tag (which both looked to have the same price). The old tag read "worn and refurbished" 1. I thought Nordstrom Rack only sold new clothing and 2. Refurbished? There was a pen mark on the shoe and tons of scratch marks! If I knew these shoes were worn, I would not have purchased them. Lines are also always super long as well. Understaffed location as there are only four cashiers for approximately 8-10 registers. Leaves people waiting in line for about 15 minutes. Not worth my time anymore. For customers: watch what you buy and pay attention to tags!! You're better off going to Goodwill if Nordstrom Rack is going to start selling worn items. read more

Made a purchase online and had to return some items here. This location is much smaller compared to the one in the suburbs, so you don't get as many selections. Plus, it's in the heart of tourist central...kind of. I do like that they have new selections frequently though, and you can get some pretty good deals if you come at the right time. I like checking out the shoes section the most, but that area is pretty messy/disorganized all the time. The checkout counters are on the first level and middle right. There is no separate returns or customer service counter, which is inefficient. Therefore, I always see a relatively long line every time I visit. I'm glad they have at least six checkout counters though! If you see a sales associate raise a flag and look at you, that's your cue to go up. When I made the return, the sales associate was very pleasant and personable. Returning the items was a very quick process. Nordstrom Rack is sandwiched between Nordstrom and Last Chance, which means items trickle down in this order: 1) Nordstrom 2) Nordstrom Rack and 3) Last Chance. If you want even better deals that are completely dependent on when you go, try Last Chance in Lombard, IL. There are only two locations in the US, Lombard and Phoenix. read more

This place has a great section. The only problem for me is I don't like people looking at me while I'm shopping. Everytime I come into every section there are staff looking at me whatever I'm doing and I feel so annoyed. They do not give me space or time. It feels like they think that I might steal something but never. I didn't tell them because it was rude. So I have no choice. I just grabbed sandals and it's good that the sandals in the display were my size so I grabbed them. I immediately went to the counter and paid for it. This Nordstrom Rack is not worth your time if you can go to the other one on Chicago. It's usually a mess and there is a long line to check out pretty much any time of day or day of the week. There are plenty of Nordstrom employees in the store, they're just not generally working. The last three times I was here I had to interrupt employees chatting to ask for help, and they looked at me like I was being rude. So why do I keep going back if it's so crappy? I found a navy Jackie O Black Halo dress once for $75. $75!!! I got a smart hard side carry-on suitcase once for $99 instead of $500. I like this Nordstrom rack when I'm in town. the people there help you there's a lot of things to choose from. usually the merchandise is in order most of the time and there are two floors to shop from and I always find something that I want or need. I really like this Nordstrom rack. the customer service is good and they are helpful and very pleasant. They have things for your home for your bedroom and clothes for women as well as undergarments, suitcases and a variety of other things which definitely make it worth going to because the prices are also slashed in here compared to the regular Nordstrom. I love that there's a lot of deals and things on sale here so I feel like I'm saving money on a good product. I could do without the long lines but I think it's worth it. read more

This is one of the better Nordstrom Rack locations - it's very large and for the most part pretty organized (at least it starts out that way...) I appreciate that this location has less "filler" crap and more stuff that actually graced a Nordstrom store at one point. The usual suspects are here - Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Coach (so.many.Coach.shoes), etc but if you dig hard you'll find some pretty high end stuff at reduced prices. Be aware that inventory turns FAST here because it's a very busy store. My husband had his eye on a pair of shoes, wanted to think it over and came back the next day - gone. But if you are lucky, they might have your size! Nothing is guaranteed. This includes shoes!!!! If clothes is not what you need, this store also has housewares/bath ware, sunglasses, and intimate apparel on the lower level. They also have luggage carriers on the second level by the escalator. I love Nordstrom Rack because of all the excellent deals that I can get for less, most of which comes straight from my other favorite store, Nordstrom (although you should be aware that there are some brands that are made for Nordstrom Rack, which isn't the best quality or value for what you pay). I came by this location with my husband yesterday while I was shopping in downtown. This location is a few doors down from Saks Off Fifth and across the street from TJ Maxx. This store is 2 stories (with the shoes on the 2nd floor). Whenever I go to any Nordstrom Rack, I will always head over to the handbags department immediately and then the jewelry and watch displace case and then lastly the shoes. If I have time (and also am still up for shopping), I will check out the clothes. I thought the handbag selection of high end designer labels had plenty of variety. Although Longchamp is not what I would consider a high end designer (but I do like their bags), I saw plenty of their bags on display (mostly the leather ones, not too many of the nylon bags). Anyways, this visit was fun and successful for me (in terms of finding good deals). Too bad I do not live around here because I would come here all the time. read more

I buy a lot of ties here, especially a line that I really like called City of London by Ferrell Reed. They sell $70 retail ties for $14, and other similar-percentage savings. I've also noticed that they have a solid selection of extra-long ties; in fact, once I bought one by accident. I very occasionally can find a decent dress shirt. My current pair of casual brown shoes came from here, but that was the only time that I've lucked out with footwear. I always take a hopeful pass through the men's suits, but there's never anything good in my size. Holy shoes! This place is shoe heaven and the regular selection is pretty good. I wanted to buy myself something nice to mark the end of my youth, I mean twenties, and shoes are always a good idea! The high end designer section was slim pickins and many shoes were ugly as hell. I found a pair of beautiful Dior peep toe pumps, marked down to $230, but they were way too big. I was about to become inconsolable when eyes focused on a pair of purple suede peep toe YSL Tributes. They fit perfect and were marked down to the same price as the Diors. It was a sign! I've been shopping here for years and would give it four stars, but: -They won't give you a discount for defected merchandise. The shoes had a tiny scuff and they were the only pair in the system, but the cashier said they are not allowed to give even a 10% discount. Boo -Not sure if they have a new tailor or the old one is using new methods, but the hemming on jeans is AWFUL. They used to do an awesome job but last time I bought a pair of designer jeans and had them hemmed here, the tailor used that cheap-ass hemming adhesive....the kind you can buy at Walgreen's for a few dollars. One cashier on duty this Saturday morning and quite a line. Way to go America! No excuse for this. See photo. A bewildering number of undercover security roaming the store and a coterie of kids fussing and looking busy. This store has always been poorly managed with some very curious subpar hiring choices. So, I come back a week later looking for a jacket I saw just a week before and the whole men's area has been rearranged. My jacket is nowhere to be seen in any size though there had been over a dozen. I inquire with a sales clerk. Cue 1930s Hollywood stock character complete with slum accent, "What do you mean jacket, sir? We only sell OUTERWEAR here." He then proceeds to inform me that the manager likes to "play store" and rearranges the area at least twice a week. With a Garbo sweep of his hand, he beckons me to the appropriate area and leaves me to pick through the detritus, oh excuse me, the select outwearer for the jacket. Not there. And I leave under the supervision of an abundant amount of eye rolling between Greta Garbo, now joined by his friend Joan Crawford, who both appear too busy idling and too busy playing Hollywood snobs to be much use. I'm making light of what's a very strange culture of Chicago-styled superciliousness so endemic to this particular store. As a contrast, I go to the Chicago avenue store to search. I don't even have to ask for help. A young girl asks if I need assistance, knows the jacket I desribe, and pulls it from the rack whilst informing me both of it's popularity and my luck at having the last one in my size. That exceeded my expectations. A girl who knew her area of the store and what's going in and out of it. Awesome. It's more than probable that this young lady is of the same background as her State Street counterparts, with the difference being she more than earned my respect with her work ethic and sense of reality. read more

Have been on the prowl for a M. Kors tote bag for 2 months. You hop on the escalator to go up once you enter and the store feeds you directly into the accessories/lpurse section. Viola! There was my bag! SIgh. Nordstrom Rack is huge and the line much like most Chicago stores in town moves fast. Please don't get discouraged. I found my bag CHEAPER in downtown Chicago than I would at a discount store in Columbus, OH. Who knew! Best part? Upside: designer clothes at a steal (especially jeans) Downside: waiting for them to find the mate to the shoes you want I have had such good luck at the Rack. I don't usually do all that well in department stores because I don't have the patience to hunt for things, but the Rack is worth it. It also helps that it's smaller so there's less ground for me to cover. I would go here just to find deisgner jeans at great prices; I've found Sevens and True Religion jeans at a fraction of the normal price (and they weren't even irregulars). Also, since Nordstrom started out as a shoe store back in the day you can always find some great shoes, if you have the patience to look for them. I'm not wild about the whole shoe system, but for the price I deal (I have a popular shoe size so there are lot of aisles and shelves for me to search to find the perfect shoes) Bottom line: great finds if you have the patience to look Tip: the store only puts one shoe out, don't spend time searching for its mate - bring it to the counter and they'll bring it to you. read more
