I was provided a quote on an AC unit that they recommended and the price was very competitive and based on the other positive reviews I decided to move ahead with the install. All throughout the process, the owner Eugene was very helpful and thorough in answering any questions that I had. The technicians that came over were also very helpful and answered any questions that I had. The AC unit was just installed today so I haven't had the opportunity to use it much, but based on the experience so far, I trust that I will be in good hands if there are any issues down the road. (AC unit purchased was an Armstrong Air 2 ton 16 SEER unit)

He contacted about the A/C job asking if I would like a heat pump instead trying to up sell right from the start. I told him the 75 gallon water heater had to be done first. He asked if he can quote. He wouldn't register or do a site visit to see what either job entailed and kept messaging over and over. He kept going over the details so he was trying to estimate and I repeatedly gave him the same info. He asked why the venting supplied by Rheem with the tank was not white PVC and didn't understand. I had to explain to him the venting requirements had changed about 7 years ago on 75 gallon tanks due to higher temperatures. I had to tell him repeatedly I had all the materials to install. I gave him photos of everything to see it was straight forward. Job with less than 8 feet of venting that I was supplying. He said he would complete the job and bill me later and include any incurred expenses . I told him I do not proceed with any job without a contract with upfront firm pricing and any terms.. Then he asked again if they were providing the materials. He had the photo showing all the materials I had and again I told him I had all the materials. He then asked about me to a heat pump and I said if I wanted a heat pump it would have been stated in the job details I told them that them we had a high efficiency 2 stage furnace and my heating costs were under $900.00 per season keeping the thermostat at a constant 75 F. Our house is 3300 sq. ft. and Enbridge shows our house more efficient than 96% of the houses in our area which includes many of them with heat pumps. That was the end of dealing with them for both the water heater and the A/C when I requested a particular York Affinity model and he quoted on a different model. The most frustrating experience I have ever had just for an estimate.

Was very friendly and professional. From our conversation I learned he had easily 30 years experience in the industry, and it showed. He was not only an excellent technician but also a life saver. My 30 something years old furnace stopped working earlier this evening and the temperature in the house kept dropping. The hvac guy I used before didn't respond so I reached out to a couple of hvac companies in the area and I was worried that I might not get a response tonight, not to mention to get someone to come in to fix it. Long story short, Bulot responded to me almost immediately and within an hour he was at my door. He was very knowledgeable while being super friendly. He got right to the job and kept trying different things until the problem was fixed. Now my furnace is blowing hot air and I no longer need to prepare myself to sleep in a freezing bedroom. I will be using them for all my hvac needs from now on. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

The whole thing seems a bit sticky to me and I'm not interested in engaging them at all. I live in a townhome complex in the college/Dovercourt area and many of my neighbours have chosen not to use them and instead have provided their own referrals. #frustrating

The sales person was very knowledgeable, patiently walking me through the many options and tradeoffs to enable me to choose a hybrid heat pump comination that balances our priorities of comfort and envioronmental responsibility while remaining within a reasonable budget. His professionalism was matched by the installation crew that communicated well through the process and did a very neat and careful installation. It's only been running for a few weeks and so far everything has worked perfectly. They matched the equipment warranties with equally-long labour warranties (in the case of the heat pump up to 12 years). If I ever have a service issue that changes my recommendation I will update this review or post a supplement.

After 5 years of constant breakdowns, usually on the coldest days, I contacted City Home Comfort because I saw very good reviews for them online. They get those good reviews by pestering customers to leave them as soon as the job is complete. As it was spring, there was little need for heat. As soon as the cold weather arrived this winter, it broke down. We got it going again through another company because City Home Comfort said my tenants would have to freeze for a couple of days until they could arrive. After it started working, we discovered a new problem I'd never had; it wouldn't adequately heat the second floor. The company that got the boiler going again had suggested the circulation pump was too small. I relayed this to City Home Comfort who dismissed this suggestion and insisted the problem was due to drafty old windows and lack of insulation, but I said I'd never had this problem even with the previous boiler that kept breaking down. I know it's a drafty 100 year old house but the boilers always compensated for this problem. They didn't care and kept insisting the problem was my windows and lack of insulation. So according to them, I had to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars replacing the windows and ripping up the walls to insulate. I'd had enough and called up The Boiler Shoppe who replaced among other things, the inadequate circulation pump. It cost me nearly $5,000 to correct all the mistakes of City Home Comfort and a further $1,800 to my 2nd floor tenant for the cold days below the municipally required temperature she endured. Since the repairs, I haven't had a problem. I've come to the conclusion that the problems many have with modern boilers doesn't come down to boiler brand, but to the surfeit of incompetent installers. Many people leave bad reviews for boiler manufacturers when I think they need to be blaming the installers.

Econoair sold a Maytag A/C to me back in 2008 and offered 12 years warranty (parts and labor)…read more Problems came hand in hand with the installation: 1) the technician decided where he wanted to put the unit w/o asking me and went ahead and drilled a big hole on my wall. When I found out and pointed out that wasn't the reasonable location, he went ahead and drilled another hole! Yes he did patch the first hole... with ugly paint and filling stuff. 2) The same summer, I realized my A/C is not cooling at all. Econoair sent another technician on site, who confirmed the initial installation wasn't done correct and the unit wasn't working at all. It appears he did fix the problem... to some extent. I mean thereafter I constantly have difficulty with cooling. When I complained in 2010 they sent 2 technician on site, who claimed there was nothing wrong based on the fact that the A/C was producing code air, and wanted to charge for the "service". This year it got even worse. I can't even bring my room temperature down to 21 degree when the outside is only 26. When I phoned Econo air, Bruce the owner first claimed my A/C is fine and blamed my duct work. When I pointed the preset temperature is never reached even after leaving the A/C run for a whole day, he finally admitted there is indeed something wrong but refused to do anything because "Maytag has discontinued in Canada". What can i say, if Maytag decided to pull out of the country and not to fulfill outstanding warranty, it is a problem between the Maytag and Econo Air (as the retailer). After all, I didn't purchase from Maytag. Make sense? However, Bruce decided to make the problem his customer's.
