My family have always prepared our taxes with H&R Block. When I visited this branch around 7pm, I was impressed with their evening hours in helping walk-ins file taxes to meet the demands/conflicts of scheduling. I was very fortunate to be helped by Mr. John Anderson. He was very patient, friendly, knowledgeable, took the time to know my situation to better serve my family's needs. I really appreciate him for promoting diversity with his staff and creating unique Tagalog ad/flyers that assists Filipino families and the elderly. I recommend all Filipinos to meet with him and his friendly staff! It was a delight to get to know John and do business with his team. He provided me with quality, transparent tax advice and other resources to help me prepare for my future taxes. I appreciate him for sharing information and providing excellent customer service. I have been going to same office (American canyon Ca)for many years. Also many times I used the drop and go, very convenient . However this year when I came to office with all my documents. I was standing at the counter right next to the big red sign that said "Drop and Go" and the representative told me I could not drop and go.  I had to get a link then take pictures of my documents with my phone and send them to them. The documents were in my hand but they would not take them. So I walked away.  To me this is beyond ridiculous. A longtime customer with all the documents and they would not accept them. I am baffled.  I had been a customer for many years now maybe not anymore. They should probably remove  their drop and go sign too. read more

Not a good place.The people that are working there are not knowledgeable They doubletalk you .If you don't know math you are in for a big nightmare.These people will lie to you .Do your own tax don't let someone into your business they will take advantage and rob you blind. read more

My friends mom usually does my taxes but she couldn't last minute so I was desperate. I looked at the reviews for several H&R Block locations and decided to go to this one. The lady on the phone who scheduled my appointment was very nice and booked an appointment for me with John Anderson. Despite the multiple snags in my tax info (my fault!) and whatnot, the staff here definitely made my experience great. I wish I had their names (i'll update when I get them)! The person helping me file assured me with confidence and when there were roadblocks on my end, she got immediate help from her manager. Got everything done and even planned my next appointment. I called ahead for advice, and the friendly receptionist transferred me to Luz, a tax preparer. Luz advised me to come in for a free tax estimate, which I did, and upon greeting me with her vibrant smile (and makeup), and she proved to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I got the info I needed and felt no pressure to file during my visit. I left with a free estimate about this year's tax forecast, and a headache, but that wasn't Luz's fault. The location is across from Starbuck's, in the Walmart/Sonic shopping center. Feel free to grab a slushie from Sonic, and then some booze from Walmart to pour into your slushie, if you happen to leave H&R Block with bad news... Or good news, whichever. read more

I've filed my taxes here every year since 2011. I must say I've never experienced so many issues until this year. If you're going to come in, I highly recommend calling first and asking for someone who is very experienced and has been working for H&R Block for many years. I had to switch tax preparers because the person I was initially set up with was new and there was definitely a language barrier going on. She asked me for my son's transcripts to prove he was in school...well, he's in elementary school. Elementary school kids don't have transcripts. She also said she couldn't complete my taxes until I brought in his birth certificate... what?! I've never had to provide these things in previous years. Story short, I left and when I came back in I asked for the manager and she was able to prepare my taxes the same day. I would have given this review one star but Patricia was awesome and did a great job. But for all that trouble at first, I had to give only 3 stars. I will definitely be filing again with Patricia next year with H&R block and I'll give another review then. I expect that will be a five star review. But thank you Patricia for saving the day! H&R Block was pretty close to losing a loyal customer. read more

Today I left H&R Block in American Canyon a very happy person, thanks to LUZ GUITERREZ, She is terrific!! She's smart, nice, thorough, friendly and she got me a HUGE refund for 2013 and more refunds from previous years. I was worried because my 2013 tax return was somewhat complicated by selling two properties, but Luz studied my circumstances and figured out the best way to go. Boy, did she!!! It was well worth the fee to H & R Block. No complaints. I'll be going again in future years, happily. Thanks so much Luz and H & R Block. read more
