If I could leave negative stars I would. They did not file our tax return! I don't work for free, and neither do the 2 dim bulbs who work there. After allowing for IRS refund delays, I tried following up with the incompetent who filed. Clueless. Another accountant confirmed it was not filed. Part of the standard agreement HR Block makes with its clients is if they prepare a return for you and the IRS audits you, Block will represent you in the Audit proceedings. I got audited, notified them immediately, and never heard from them. I had to pay the IRS $2200 because of their error and subsequent neglect. You're better off having a chimpanzee do your taxes than these people. read more

Had an appointment for an hour to sit down with Alison to review my taxes. I had everything ready. We sat down, I told her that I usually do my taxes on TurboTax, but this year stuff looked odd and I wanted to walk through it with her. At that point, she asked me to leave all of my paperwork with her and I told her I'd rather walk through it with her. She then gave another excuse about not having time with another appointment in 30 minutes. I showed her my online confirmation for an hour and she still pushed back, so I left. If the accountants aren't comfortable actually walking through the process in person (that takes me only 45 minutes on TurboTax) then not comfortable at all with them doing my full taxes! read more

I never would of thought I would ever rate a tax service provider but I had such a terrible experience I can't help but inform people of this awful establishment. First, when I arrived at the office for my appointment and gave the accountant my 2014 & 2015 taxes, she said my previous accountant filed some line incorrectly. When I went back to my previous accountant, he kindly explained to me why he put that value in that box. The H&R block lady refused to tell me why it's wrong, just stating "that's not how it works"...what kind of answer is that? (Side note - the term "that's not how it works" must be brainwashed into their employees because I was given that response to my other questions with that answer). Second, the H&R accountant was on hold and on other business WHILE WORKING WITH ME! And then proceeded to take that call and make me wait and waste my time. Also, when another client came into the office when the H&R accountant was about 75-80% done with my taxes, decided to go work with them and made me wait AGAIN! I'm in real estate by trade, and if I treated my clients like this branch treats theirs, I would be out of business. Third, after being promised my return would show up direct deposit on my account in 21 calendar days, I was very disappointed when their promise was not met. I understand the IRS can take a while, but that wasn't disclosed to me and I felt cheated with the old bait & switch. Lastly, when I tried to call to figure out why my tax return had not showed up, all I got was attitude and the "that's not how it works" answer. Also, they said it was the IRS who processes payment, but then when I called a different day, I got a complete different answer, saying they process the refund. After going back and asking the same question to my previous accountant (who will have my business moving forward and NOT H&R) I got the right answer and was well informed and not told "that's not how it works". In conclusion, I will never EVER do business with H&R block, nor will I ever refer business to that branch or any H&R office. I will do whatever it takes to steer people away from this awful company. If you are reading this review, please take my word as a working real estate professional that they are an awful branch, provide terrible customer service, and way over priced in my opinion for the lack of service they provide. read more

Had an appointment to sit down and look at an audit I had received. After being told I'd have to wait even though I had an appointment I was then told that I need to schedule a new appointment because they were too busy and I should wait 2 weeks for their convince. Somebody looked at my letter from the IRS and didn't know how to read it and find the due date. I was told I need my original documents (WHICH I HAD) and I wasn't believed when I said they were all digital. Guess I'm a liar for having digital documents and being environmentally friendly. I was then told to email my documents to somebody I have never met before and give away personal information being getting to discuss a way forward and how they will handle my issue. I just need up leaving having a aster my time because they were not willing to help me and take my business. I was disgusted by the way I was treated. read more

The WORST office I have ever come into contact with. With COVID, I had trouble actually finding an office to sit down with someone to file as this is my FIRST TIME. So, I did some research and started e-filing with H&R Block for 2019 taxes. Paid ~$70 bucks, only my federal got approved...... called literally HUNDREDS of numbers, waited on hold for hours, tried virtual chat help... H&R Block was no where in sight for help. So, with businesses opening back up, I quickly made an appointment to meet. I walked in and the lady immediately told me they couldn't help me and that "filing online is not how it works".... so you offer something that you don't recommend, during the middle of a pandemic? Makes sense. She then has the audacity to ask me why I've waited so long to file if only 1/2 of my taxes were accepted. She also told me that I'd have to pay all over again to get BOTH redone and I'd have to pay back the IRS for my federal taxes so they can resubmit my return with both...My jaw dropped to the floor and I walked out. DON'T GO HERE, THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR TAXES!!!!!! read more

This place was terrible. I was told I had to pay on dividends that were paid to me, I explained that it was rolled over from an IRA to 401k so I should not have to pay for them, her answer was "well we'll see." Basically she agreed when she saw that the computer knew how to handle it. She asked why I had brought health insurance pages, then told me I would not need them next year. Brilliant. I was charged DOUBLE what their pricing said online. Because I had DIVIDENDS. I was upset, so she said she would give me 25$ off, but she could not even follow thru on that her manager said she is not giving discounts at the end of the season. Nice customer service. Do not use this place if you need real competent tax help, or customer service. read more

Well I tried to walk into this location to do my taxes because a friend did theirs here last year and had good review. I know this now they didn't work with Susana! She almost immediately profiled me made me jump through hoops to prove I was a single father. She thought I was trying to scam them even though I had his info and my last years taxes. She tried to charge me on services that were not needed double charged me pretended like it was standard for having a child and removed the charges after I complained about it like she was doing me a favor!! Knowing I felt uncomfortable working with her she just proceeded to go through with the rest when it came down to some of the benefits offered by HR Block she refused to offer any of them to me and told me, I, based on her theory wouldn't qualify for anything! "Why not?" I asked she told me she just knew I wouldn't qualify for any of it!! All in all there might be some good agents there but if she is a reflection on HR Block I'm not sure sure why people would deal with that nonsense I'm hoping she is just a bad apple there but made for a terrible experience! I never felt so uncomfortable with someone or in an establishment before. Nonetheless back to Jackson Hewitt!! read more
