As the years went on Laura's competency and follow through declined, always an excuse. My taxes had mistakes and I would often get letters from the IRS with fees due to these mistakes. Although Laura has had my tax info for months, my very simple taxes were never filed on time this year, only an extension. After trying to get ahold of Laura for weeks and calmly lamenting my frustrations via email about simply completing my taxes on time, Laura said to find someone else to prepare my taxes...... I have made 4 calls, with 2 hours wasted having my account locked (without explanation) because I had the audacity of sending Xmas cash to my son and granddaughter. In the calls I made, I had to provide my phone, my card number (full number) I mean all of it, incl. exp date and the CVC code, my SSN (last4) and then respond to a texted code 4 times. I was never told what the issue was, after the 4 calls and the account being finally unlocked the final answer was..."sorry we cannot assist you, wait a few days and try again?" The phone service was not unkind, they said all the prescribed training they were told to say, like I am sorry over and over...but that said they were not able to do anything other than unlock the account. My uneducated guess is this issue is in the systems being run. I feel being human interacting with Chase Bank is seen as a risk to "the bank," is the feeling I get... It does not matter if in the branch, or the phone room, or being the customer themselves, its all the same, to Chase Bank is what I am now understanding... Your money is their money, until otherwise said by Chase Bank. Denial of access to your money is not fair when the reasons are deeply hidden. Now I am an older person, a few miles under my shoes, that said, this I have learned now passing it on here... The better and shinier the brochures, with the very expensive ad campaigns everywhere, the larger the real truth that nobody wants you to see.
