The office is located in a building that is easy to find, and there is plenty of parking in their lot. The office layout was a little confusing, but I did find the reception area and did not wait long to meet with Mr Beltrán who took me to a private room with a large screen view of his computer. He was very thorough in his work, and went over every document in detail with me, explaining everything we were doing along the way. He answered all of my questions in detail and with competency. On completion, we reviewed my return and all of the documentation again to ensure there were no errors or omissions, and that I fully understood my form. Everything about my experience was very professional and customer-focused. I expected to pay a lot for this service, but was very surprised at how affordable this was in the end. Comparing this to other big name tax preparation services, I felt the price was very reasonable and the service and competency was much better than you would expect from big name companies. I was so happy with the service I received that i have already made my 2024 appointment. I highly recommend Beltran if you need a trustworthy tax professional. They do offer a lot of Spanish language services as well.

I have sent email after email inquiring about a paycheck that I should have gotten on 2/4. They did not inform me that the check would be mailed out. When I finally got the check they changed my rate of pay to $11.00!! It is against the law in Ohio to change wages for work already completed and they are fully aware of this, but they don't care. They refuse to answer emails because they don't want a paper trail.

She mentioned that we had forgotten a couple of investment tax forms, but I thought for sure they were in the documents that I dropped off. Anyway, I brought them in for our scheduled appointment and discovered that they were included in the packet dropped off. After this the preparer started going through the tax return and I had a feeling that something didn't add up, so I went through a few documents and quickly found a mistake that resulted in a modest change to our return. We then got the bill and it was about a 65% increase over the prior years. When I questioned this, I was told that we had more w-2s this year and we added a child which resulted in the substantial increase. I was shocked to find out that the office manager was not willing to reduce the fees. We will never step foot in another Jackson Hewitt office again!

They did an amazing job cleaning both my house and apartment... no surface was missed and with both cleanings, John, one of the owners came over at the end and walked through everything making sure it was done. In November 2025, we learned that our 2024 Ohio return, prepared by Kevin Martin, owner of KAS…read moreAccounting, contained an error where the wages from one of our W-2s were mistakenly entered as withholding. In effect, the system showed an amount equal to an entire year's wages as tax withholding. We were then notified by the State of Ohio that the return was incorrect and that the overstated refund had to be repaid. The preparation error created an overstated refund that we were then required to repay under a stringent state deadline. Being suddenly responsible for repaying thousands of dollars was a significant hardship for our family. What concerned us most was the handling of the situation. Communication was delayed or nonexistent and often vague despite the urgency of the state-imposed deadline. The matter ultimately required the involvement of the Ohio Accountancy Board in order to receive clear responses. Penalties and partial-interest were reimbursed, but preparation fees and the erroneous amount were not refunded. Prior to the involvement of the Accountancy Board, the only remediation offered was a credit of $117 toward the following year's tax preparation services. A complaint was also filed with the Better Business Bureau, and the correspondence associated with that complaint is available in the BBB public record. Mistakes can happen. How they are addressed matters. We encourage anyone considering services from KAS Accounting to ask detailed questions about how errors and deadline-driven issues are handled.
