I have student loans and the information of those loans (how many taxes I paid) was shared with people in the community from a preparer. If you are individual, are better off doing your taxes on Turbo Tax and would save more and they deduct the amount from an anticipated refund. Unfortunately, like many services in this neighborhood the goal is ALL about mediocre "professionals" who care only about money and think it's okay to treat clientele like garbage (even if you have been going there for years.) Steve prepared my taxes remotely, I simply texted a photo of my W-2 and it was prepared the same day. I received the same refund I received the previous year. I made the decision to have Steve prepare my taxes the next year without a Groupon and again it was quick and painless. There is no difference in the quality of work of my former tax preparer, who is a CPA and I paid $250.00 than Steve.

He made us feel comfortable and answered all of our questions. He did a great job with our return and maximized our refund. I was really please with the entire process. Here are some highlights of my experience: Eli is very knowledgable and is able to explain everything easily so that people like me who feel like taxes are a foreign language can understand. I came in assuming I was going to owe so much bc I had no idea what I was doing or how taxes even worked.. but Eli answered all of my questions with patience even though I know I was probably asking the same question over & over lol. Eli also shed some light on things I had no idea about like how putting money in an IRA can really help to save on how much I owe in taxes, and how I need to go ahead & pay estimated taxes twice a year, and other business related matters that as business owner i needed to know & did NOT beforehand.
