So since everyone's getting there taxes done a friend of mine asked me about this location and we used them a 2 years ago. They messed up our file and it took a professional tax preparer to fix it. We paid them over 700$ for processing and the tax pro charged us $100 to fix it and get it corrected. I would never recommend them if you have complex taxes if it's a single person single w2 maybe but even then your better on filing for yourself as their fees are ridiculously too high for the mishap and mess ups. Another friend of mine got re reviewed one time in 2019 when using them because as she stated the state returned saying she owed money back even though she was awarded a return. It was a huge mess and took her 4 years to correct. Idk if it's the same people in there but watch use caution and be prepared to ask questions. read more

RACIST EMPLOYEE AND AN INCOMPETENT DISTRICT MANAGER. so let me just get straight into it , if you're a person of color and have tattoos STAY AWAY . today me and my boyfriend were discriminated against at this H&R Block . long story short I've been having issues with my 2019 tax return .I have been sent to 3 different offices in the AV in regards to the issues and when I finally got a hold of the district manager Anay Aguilar she then set up an appointment for today 2/18/2021 with Cynthia Skeeter . we were told that today we were going to be given some kind of answers as to why i was having issues with my state refund . instead we were treated very rudely and were basically refused service . mind you before today we had already been having issues with my 2019 tax return, we've dealt with atleast 4 different employees from h&r block and even tho no resolution has been found all employees up until today were respectful and ready to help and answer questions ,but today was the complete opposite. after about 30 uncomfortable minutes of this lady obviously not wanting to service us or answer any of our questions or concerns my bf told her that we were very unsatisfied with the service and that we would be contacting the district manager in regards to how we were treated and before leaving I did ask the lady to send me an email of the tax laws that she had supposedly looked up before the appointment so i could look into it myself since she refused to discuss that with us while we were there . well Cynthia did send me the email i requested but she also sent me the email that was supposed to go to the district manager. in the email she says she doesn't want to work with me and that her husband now fears for her safety because my boyfriend is tattooed. tomorrow morning i am going to call corporate and see what the complaint process is but i also wanted to warn people of color who happen to be tattooed to stay away from this place. **UPDATE 2/26/2021 ***also i want to add that District manager took a week to call me back in regards to this situation and the only reason she called me was because i made a formal complaint to corporate. if i would've never went above her she would've never attempted to call me back in regards to this issue .also she never apologized fon her employees behalf or acknowledged any wrong doing which makes sense since the email that was accidentally sent to me was supposed to go to her . obviously she condones this type of behavior which is shameful and all this is also included in my formal complaint to corporate they are fully aware now of what's going on under ANAY AGUILARS watch and are now investigating the issues. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had. I went in specially to see if I could do the rapid refund option. Did this before in the past and never had a problem. Well this time, I was only getting updates about my refund and not about the rapid refund application. So after waiting three days o decided to call them and was informed that I didn't even had an application submitted for that. So I went back to the office and asked why there was no application submitted for it, then told by the manager that I wouldn't have even qualified because of the amount. So I was lied to and forced to pay fees and loose money out of my refund because I was told that I had to file my state there too. read more

I came in today as an accidental walk in ( i made an appointment at the wrong location) and was glad I did, the place wasn't full and the woman at the front was very kind. She helped with getting some one to assist me as soon as possible. Steven C. Heining helped me prepare and file my taxes, he was so knowledgable, helpful and explained everything to me detail to detail. He truly helped me understand everything i was signing, and what would benefit me with coverage. The environment is very welcoming and calm. The manager was very sweet, even gave my daughter a balloon. I will definitely be coming back next year i loved their service! I have been to liberty tax and the service was horrible and i didn't even know what i was signing or doing they were very fast but they were no help with my return (which they had lost) and helping me step by step. IF THEY'D HAD A NEGATIVE STAR, I WOULD HAVE USED IT. Don't go to this business if you want your taxes and sanity to remain stable. Some may be O.K. that work here, but others are disreputable and dishonest. Not a good combination in a tax preparation business. NEVER pay for the peace of mind they are not willing to give you. H and R block's costomer service is trained in only one thing...AVOIDANCE. People should have to have mental examinations when they reach 70 years old before they should be entrusted with preparing taxes. After many years of preparation done by this company, different offices, I have been properly pushed to Hewitt and Pratt. Unfortunately, H and R block's unwillingness to back their peace of mind policy or to properly handle an errant employee has left me sick to my stomach even thinking about them and their total lack of responsibility. Maybe it's just this office, but they've lost my business, my husbands and my entire extended family. I had been warned of them here in the Antelope Valley when I moved here. 5 plus stars for Cynthia S. She can be found at the Palmdale and Lancaster location; however, I only went to the Lancaster location. The staff at the west Palmdale and Lancaster locations were so nice and accommodating with my urgent request for an appointment, as well as my limited and changing availability to make it to an appointment. I want to preface this review by saying that I despise doing taxes so much that I had put it off for three years. PREVIOUSLY, I felt as though the fee for services was comical compared to the returns I would be getting. Forced to actually use a tax preparation service for my old returns, I sucked it up and begrudgingly went in to a random company to pay up front for a service I didn't even want to use. The woman at the front desk offered me coffee and water. Cynthia met with me promptly at our appointment time. She made me feel completely at ease as I explained to her all of my little complications that had made me avoid my taxes for three years. She spent so much time with me showing me two different ways I could file and let me choose which option worked best for me. I have NEVER felt as though I was receiving a good return in my life (hence the reason I so dreaded tax season); however, I am confident that Cynthia not only got me the best returns of my adult life, but also took every effort to minimize potential audit flags! I was dreading this appointment like the plague; however, I left the office in happy tears and on cloud 9! I feel so fortunate that my procrastination and random call to this specific office led me to someone who I can't wait to meet up with next year! This was probably my biggest surprise. I hate doing taxes. Every year I wait until the last minute. This year I met Karen Morales from H & R Block, at of all places, the Lancaster gun show and she answered some questions regarding rentals. I decided to take a chance and schedule an appointment. I found out that my CPA did not include my rental HOA fees. This year I'm finally getting money back! Hurray! Try them. read more

Last year I did my taxes with H&R Block the guy that did my taxes only put in one of my W9 forms for IRS sent me a letter stating there was more income so I paid for that for forgiveness program and not only did I pay taxes on the W9 form that we had to add to H&R Block pay the $1200 that were including the penalties and what not I got a letter from the IRS this year stating that that $1200 has to be paid as an income and there's taxes on that income so guess who gets to pay the taxes on that income me thank you H&R Block for fucking me again that's twice once last year for not doing their job right and again this year I lost my job I'm on welfare and I don't know how the hell you plan on me paying this $1200 and you don't even tell your clients that we have to pay this thank you so people please beware make sure you ask lots of questions about everything and check check and doublecheck everything because they never answer your question the pussyfoot around and they don't have it I don't give them any stars I will printed them for years and as I went there today and told them they're going to pay for it they told me no there's a law that the IRS made up apparently that the client has to pay for the taxes so here I am again like I said on welfare because I lost my job because I've had three back surgeries and I have no clue how I'm gonna pay this screw you H&R Block read more
