Mr. ZED DEE gave us such excellent charming Service! My wife & I came in with quite a bit of trepidation & dread but left DELIGHTED since Mr. Dee patiently took the time to explain all the new tax laws that pertained to us as we had just moved to Roseville end of August last year, after renovating & selling our Fremont Townhouse & bought a brand new perfect house with a Solar Energy System in a 55+ gated community. Our old CPA retired, so my husband and I made an appointment online, we chose to see Katie German, and I'm so glad we did!! Katie is not only professional but she is friendly, knowledgeable and just fantastic! She helped us do our taxes quick and efficient. She explained things no other tax pro had before. I started to work with H&B block a few years ago when my current CPA could not get my taxes right. H&R block person found the correct way and I have started to use them since. I moved to Roseville and chose the local office. I just submitted the papers over the web to Katie German and scheduled time. She had prepared everything in a few days even during the busy tax period. I reviewed them as I had problems with others before and all seemed well and correct. I decided to give HR block the benefit of the doubt since they said they would give me 50% discount the following year, which was this year, 2023. Dorene was wonderful! No complaints about her. She is the reason I am not giving ZERO stars. When promised 50% by the manager, Sabrina, I expected that when it came time to pay my bill. Tell me WHY, then, they charged me FULL PRICE for my tax prep this year! I was appalled! When I called to see what happened, they said they mistakenly LOST my original file that said I was due 50% off. Finally when I called again, the person at HR block said there was a check for my 50% refund on its way to me in the mail. I received the check but it was not 50% of what I paid. I paid $572 total to get my taxes done this year. I received $253.50, which is less than 50% (about $30 less). Maybe that accounts for taxes, other fees? IDK but I really don't care to call them AGAIN and try to figure it out. After all the trouble I went through with this specific HR Block, I do not recommend getting taxes done here, nor am I coming back to this estabilishment. I may even do my taxes myself since I don't want the hassle of trusting someone/a business with something as important as my taxes. DO NOT RECOMMEND! For the last few years, I have been going to H&R Block and their service has been fine. However, today, at the Pleasant Grove, Roseville location, the service was outstanding. I was assisted by Master Tax Advisor, Peg McLaughlin and she is one smart lady. Peg was able to explain the tax terms and was able to get me one heck of a refund. She also appeared to truly care about my tax concerns and needs. We had a great conversation and she was very patient with me when I had to contact Covered California about a healthcare plan. A couple weeks ago after having dinner in the center with my boyfriend I stopped in with his suggestion to get my taxes done through this location. I was nervous since I had never paid to get taxes done before and knew it would be costly to do so, but I felt very comfortable with my Tax Associate Tonja Ward and she went through everything and I even signed up Peace of Mind which guarantees that if they make a mistake they will be held responsible and I won't be charged additionally. Not many tax companies do this, so it was worth the additional charge for me! I would recommend this company, they gave me printed copies and reassured me that I would receive the maximum refund with 100% accuracy for myself and my daughter I was claiming on my taxes! Got my taxes done here last year. The lady seemed very rushed, inpatient, and slightly rude. She told me at the end that she should have charged me more, but that she will make sure to next year. Nothing very pleasant about HR Block on Pleasant Grove Blvd in Roseville, Ca. After speaking with the tax preparer for almost an hour, I realized she knew less than me. I paid $312 dollars to recover my incomplete taxes. I left a note, "Do not file, incomplete. HR Block filed my incomplete taxes. I had to hire a CPA to clean up the mess and file an Amendment. The Amendment from the CPA was rejected. IRS requires an amendment from the original preparer. HR Block confines to fail to acknowledge their error or prepare the amendment I need. My HR Block fee was reversed after over ten calls and emails (one gold star), but the cost to correct the error was $725. It has been six months and I cannot resolve the issue because HR Block refuses to prepare an Amendment. read more

They messed up my tax return so bad that I am now being investigated by the State franchise board and the H&R blockheads won't help me with the IRS and I can't get my paperwork back till January due to the office being a satellite office. And the corporate office is trying to avoid any conversation even after I requested a call to explain what they are responsible for. Don't go to H&R Blockheads you will regret it. read more

I went there with a few years of back filing. Single income, a few kids, nothing else. No house, no other deductions, pretty simple you would think. I was in there about 15 minutes for 2 years of filings. I paid 275.00 for what I thought was 2 years of filings . I went back and found out it was for one year. They wanted 250.00 each for the following three years. Thats 1000.00 for 4 years of simple fillings for about 45 minutes of work. That comes out to a rate of about 1250 an hour. I didn't pay and am taking my business elsewhere. I'm contacting the head office to find out what the hell happened. I mean come on, I don't make that much money and it was a basic filing. I scheduled a appointment with Teresa today at 9:00 and was taken as scheduled ~ she was very friendly, knowledgeable & took her time to explain our taxes to both myself & my husband (as our taxes were a tad different from previous years) She completed our taxes as we waited and we were Surprised we did not have to return (very excited) We are very thankful to Teresa for her service today and glad we went to H & R Block Pleasant Grove For our 2018 Taxes ~ We will plan on returning next year for sure. I love this location, we have always gone here with one exception, last year, but never again will we compromise! This is the best location we have ever been to. They are terrible they made an error on my family's taxes and basically said we were screwed and had to pay the IRS, FOR THERE MISTAKE!!!!! Supposed to be a professional company.
