They are a small firm that can provide individual attention, something you will never get from H & R Block (and the like). My taxes are challenging, to say the least. I am an independent contractor, but "on the books" with one client, own property, have deductions, etc. Plus I went to Art School, so numbers just aren't my thing. Ha. Combined with the fact that the tax laws change yearly, who can keep up with that unless it is your business to do so? Well Fleck & Uhlich keeps up with all of that, no worries. From my initial consultation, when I sat down with Barbara and went over all my concerns, I received great customer service. All of my emails and phone calls were returned promptly, and my questions were answered. She even suggested that I open a SEP IRA, in addition to my Roth IRA, to help with deductions and to secure my retirement. I was happy to do just that, and wondered why my former tax preparer had never suggested this to me. If you need help dealing with your taxes, I suggest you give Fleck & Uhlich a try. If he's busy, just say so! But don't request all our very personal, identity documents then fall off the grid. Very very unsettling and more importantly HIGHLY unprofessional. I made an appointment and was called a day prior by File 4 me now to confirm my appointment. So far…read moreso good. I arrived at my appointment and the place was closed. Not a good first impression for being my first time there. I received a call 15 minutes after my appointment time to be told Kimberly was running late to wait 15-20 minutes. I received a second call saying I would need to reschedule. Not a good feeling. Or if I would like I could leave all my personal tax documentation and slide it under the door. WTH? I left and was called by Kimberly 2 hours later. She did apologize and asked me to give them a second chance. If I did go back I would receive a good discount on my tax preparation. I did go back, why? During our 20 minutes ordeal and in the middle of a conversation between I and Kimberly she decides to answer her cell phone and cut me off after that she decides to step out of her office and talk to another client. Lastly, she charged me $150 for very basic and simple taxes and she never mentioned anything about the discount she had offered 2.5 hours ago. Would not go back or recommend. I will use Turbo Tax next year.
