Let me assure you, those reviews are legitimate, and Fred & Stacy are exceptionally wonderful to deal with. Fred got us in rather late in the tax season, which made me very happy. The experience from that point was as pleasant as having your taxes done could possibly be. Stacy went above and beyond to proactively call me the day before a snow storm, and asked if I wanted to move the appointment. Who does that these days? Exactly no one, that's who. Once we sat down with Fred, he prepared much of the info on the spot, rather than just taking notes and putting our return in a queue. Got a call the next day (yes, you read that right) that everything was ready. Amazing. His fees are consistent with what I'd expect, perfectly fair and reasonable, the office is clean and pleasant, and honestly there isn't one thing that prevents me from rating FJ Koelle & Associates 5 stars +.

His office staff is friendly and helpful, both on the phone, and when I previously needed to stop by the office to drop paperwork off or pick something up. Even after moving to Florida I elected to keep Larry as my accountant, and simply mail my information to him. I have always been pleased with his accurate preparation of my taxes, even when I have had complicated returns (and I have had some very involved tax situations). I have referred friends to him and they have also been happy with the work he has done for them. I will be doing business with Poppert and Associates for many years to come.

I was having a hard time managing my own bookkeeping and was inquiring about this service. I met with Tara and she was condescending, defensive, and was gaslighting me when I started crying on the call after she went on a diatribe about the importance of bookkeeping. I also disagreed with her statement that "Bookkeeping is the backbone of your business." Unfortunately, Rose was also on the call and there wasn't any intervention. Tax day passed and there was zero communication on the status of my taxes. Calls, texts and emails were ignored or pushed aside before this firm stopped responding altogether. Due to his poor execution, we have been responsible for late fees and penalties. He disregarded our request. According to other reviews, their taxes have been filed on time; however, for the past 2-3 years, our taxes have never been filed on time with Elliot. My recommendation is that he shouldn't take new clients if he does not have enough staff members in his team to meet the demand. He came in recommended but based on our interaction with him and his performance, we would not recommend him.
