My husband and I got the unpleasant notification a couple of months ago that our management company had chosen not to renew our lease. We both have some disabilities, and my husband has a lot of chronic pain after a car accident a year ago. We had some friends come in to help get things boxed up after a terrible experience with another moving company, who told me one thing and my husband something completely different. I decided to be proactive and look on Angie's List for reputable moving companies, and H & R was the first one that came up. Robert was incredibly nice on the phone, and I knew right away they were the company we would go with. Our movers, Shawn and Leo, are THE BOMB. We were notified yesterday they'd be a little later than originally scheduled, but that was fine. I had some last minute stuff to take care of anyway, so I certainly wasn't going to be unhappy about a couple extra hours to get stuff finished up. There was construction on my street, so unfortunately they had to park BEHIND our apartment and then move everything that way, especially since everyone and their brother were parked where the moving truck should have gone. I'm going to be totally honest, it is always REALLY hard for me to relax, particularly when I feel like I should be doing things and aren't. After a while I just got comfortable on the couch and let them take care of it. They even moved my heavy-ass armoire with (mostly) the greatest of ease. (As a good friend of ours said about the armoire the last time we moved, "eff that heavy ass thing, I am NEVER moving it again." We also have a tricky cal king bed frame that needed to be taken apart. No problem. Also found out that there were roaches (ew) nesting underneath it. When they got to our new house, we sprayed it down with Raid to make sure they weren't our welcoming committee. Overall, Leo and Shawn, plus H & R Moves You, have done an amazing job helping us during a crazy stressful time, not just for us but America in general. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

H & R Movers AZ Review Very unfortunate experience, not only the physical damages done to our appliances but the lack of customer service. It was great over the phone but a nightmare afterwards. See below for details: The service to move some appliances was requested for a Monday at 11:30am, the owner advised the charge was $200, for two man. Sunday night, he contacted us to advise that he had a change of plans and could only make it at 7am, unfortunately, we were in a rush to get those appliances and agreed to change the time last minute and cancel the plumber that was going to help out to plug in all the stainless steel appliances such as a dishwasher, refrigerator and stove. Monday comes, and the owner shows up by himself. The appliances were not even covered with any blankets. He struggles to get in the appliances by himself through the doors, and drags the refrigerator scratching it, as I call him out he said - no, i'm not. Then proceeds to complain about me calling him out. The pain of seeing things getting damaged proceeded, fortunately our handy man was able to help him get the refrigerator in. At payment, he was paid for the amount he requested and got a $20 tip. Shouldn't have happened but it did. While he wrote "No damages" on the receipt, we corrected it to state "Damages". The following week, I proceeded to contact HR Movers to attempt to file a complaint. I leave a voicemail. Days later, we receive a call from a very nice lady asking for the dolly that was left in the backyard. We then followed-up by asking her if she was also calling re the voicemail left regarding filing a complaint. She then said her phone lines were not working correctly and that she wasn't aware of any damages but that was going to contact us to follow-up. The owner then followed up by calling to threaten me that if we leave a bad review he will then let everyone know not to hire us for our business. Sadly, it took me a while to leave a review but was concerned on how he was going to react being so new in Tucson, this was a HORRIBLE experience. read more

The company sent two people to assemble a playhouse for my daughter in the heat of Tucson in the playground at noon. The guys did a fantastic job. Their boss called me several times before their arrival to inform me about the plan. It was a great experience and I will definitely work with them again. read more

Unfortunately, the boxes marked as fragile were not treated that way, and I've found four broken items so far, one of which, is irreplaceable. The worst moving experience I've had. I'm still finding broken items, such as a box labeled FRAGILE on all sides in red that has broken antique china in it. They were bouncing items, such as our TV, off of our brand new apartment front door as they carried them in. I've had to repaint walls that they smacked, repaint the front door where they chipped and gouged it. Never again. Edit: check your records again... Monday the 16th, probably in my husbands name. Don't do business with them. How does someone who claims to "be in business for over 24 years" have such bad ratings and a small amount of reviews? AVOID THIS "BUSINESS"! This is my brief experience and review of what happened with this company. They pulled up in an unmarked van, no logo or business decal, only one of the two workers had a company shirt. When the workers had to do a background check, one of them got denied access to the private property. The worker said their probation officer said they were ok to go on to the installation. Well the one worker got denied and banned for 20 years due to the policy's in place. So I did not want to do business with them anymore. The owner then replied to my original comment and said he would sue me. He has harassed me in my messages and I have the screenshot to prove it to anyone that wants to verify the legitimacy of how unprofessional this owner is. He changes his replies often as well. Although the movers were very nice people, their moving service was very poor. Due to issues the day prior, our move that was scheduled at 8am was pushed to 10am, which was understood. Unfortunately, the movers did not arrive until noon without any phone call at 10 or 11 stating that they were running late. The process seemed like it had gone alright, however, a multitude of dings, scratches, and broken items were discovered days later. One of two desks that were moved was broken in half and there were multiple dents put into walls at both houses. While I understand that two story houses are hard to maneuver, the company did not seem to care about keeping items protected, they just worked to get things in and out. They didn't take care to pull out shelf hardware, and because of that it was lost - shelves can't be put back into bookshelves. read more

Excellent pricing and efficiency. They loaded a 26ft truck drove 30 minutes and unloaded in five hours.

So, at first there were a few complications, but the owner and I ironed out the issues and go the job completed in less than 2 hours. The moves all of the large items out of a 3 bedroom apartment 2 miles away to an upstairs unit in the rain during a flash flood. His crew was very energetic and determined to complete the job as fast and efficient as possible. I will most certainly be using them again. read more

Had this company move me twice. Once at the beginning of April and once at the end of the month. The first move went well, although they showed up 30 min early and I had gone out for coffee. They called to let me know they arrived, to make sure they were at the right apartment and asked if they could go ahead and just grab the stuff off the porch. I said sure, not knowing that the clock had started to run on their time. Annoying, but not awful; their were 3 guys and they did a good job packing. The second move they showed up 45 min late; I only hired 2 men because it was from a storage until to my home and didn't think it would take more that a few hours. Unfortunately, because they were so late I ended up having to help move stuff, pad things and pretty much just had them unload the truck and as fast as they could (putting things "where ever" so I could dash off to work. Despite the fact that I told Robert I had to be at work at a certain time the day prior, when I complained about the lateness, rather than apologizing he stated that next time I should not work on the days I move and told me I was just looking for something to complain about (via text bomb). I've actually waited to write this review for that reason and I would not recommend them. read more

Don't use this company. They intimidated and threatened to take my furniture and dump it if I went upstairs to supervise the move. They damaged my bedroom furniture. And threatened me if I did not sign that there was no damage. They did not complete the move. They left 2 TVs my damaged bedroom set in the apartment. In a bind because of a short notice move - I called H & R Moves You and Robert took my call. We only gave 48 hours notice but Robert said "No problem! See you Saturday". Then he, along with two others, Daniel and Leo - arrived on time the day of move. All 3 men came in with 'can-do' attitudes and quickly got to work. 3 hours later they had moved 75% of our things. All 3 were great, and hardworking, fast and efficient. But let me tell you - Daniel was a BLAST! While he worked - he continuously chatted with us, joked with us, was personable, took quality care of our belongings and was just absolutely exceptional. You could use a big well known company - and pay through the roof for services that may be good - OR you could call H & R Moves You and receive quality service for a fraction of the price! I can't say enough good things! Btw - yes, ONE thing broke. But who moves with zero broken items ever? 99.9% of the time - it's not the movers, it's how it's packed. So ignore the dumb one star reviews that say "my items broke". Because there's no way this company isn't taking GREAT care of your items!! read more

It's greatly disappointing to write this review, especially after a 1st great experience. The first time I used this company, they were so friendly and timely that I decided to use them again for moving staging furniture from one side of town to the other. We confirmed twice for the time but the morning of they called and pushed it back an hour. That itself was no big deal, but what followed is the reason for the poor review. One of the movers did not want to use a mattress bag I had that had some tears - I thought we could hack it by taping it together the tears but he refused. I said I'd run to buy a new mattress bag and this is where things got weird (Ace & Lowe's are a 3-minute drive). The mover started going off, unprompted, about how he would have to charge me extra for going over time (we were nowhere near the 2 hours quoted at this point - maybe 20m in). I got the bag fairly quickly and again the mover started complaining loudly about going over time and charging me extra and how annoying it is that he has to reload his truck. I was the first move of the day and there was not a lot of items in the truck. After the 10th complaint about going over time, I reminded them that we weren't even at 45m of the 2hr time and I never mentioned not paying anything. At this point, I offered to take my money back and forget the whole thing. The mover changed his tune but even my neighbors overheard and commented on how weird that was. When the movers arrived at the storage unit, they also had a very bad interaction with the manager there. She called me and said they had thrown items around, scratched her antique chairs and said where she wanted items moved was 'stupid', so overall not professional. The move was done within the allotted time, there were no boxes just some pieces of furniture, and no one ever mentioned refusing to pay so I have no idea where or why the attitude came out. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience with this company. I confirmed the time of 8 am twice with the presumed owner, Robert. The moving crew showed up more than 30 minutes early at 7:26am. We were still picking up the truck since Uhaul didn't open until 7am. The moving crew lead stated that he figured the truck would be there already and they could start early. With an experience so time sensitive (two hours exactly of time), I found it very unprofessional for them to assume that starting early without notice was acceptable. The owner, Robert, then called me and lied about how we agreed on 730/8 am and that his employees "can't just wait around" and that they will "leave to start another job". I became angry since every other moving company I called previously was booked or much more expensive and we were leaving the next day. I argued with him about what time we stated and he proceeded to say I was "just being emotional" because the "Uhaul wasn't there already". He texted shortly after to say they will start at 8 am. No apologies were provided by anyone. We arrived to our apartment with the Uhaul right at 8am and the movers were very friendly and hardworking. However, after the movers left, our very expensive and large TV was not properly secured behind the mattress and after driving carefully a couple of miles, the TV bent the mattress and slid to the back of the truck along with other boxes. The price was the best for me and my move out of all of the quotes that I received. This may vary depending upon your move. I was very pleased with the punctuality and professionalism of the movers. I was especially appreciative that the price was so transparent. My move was just under 2 hours and the minimum is 2 hours (as it is with most moving companies), so the price ended up being exactly what they said the minimum was for 2 hours. No surprises. My one criticism was that they did not wrap the furniture. In my case, that did not really make a difference. None of my furniture really needed to be wrapped and nothing was damaged. I am sure that is something that could be requested if that were important to you. read more

Nightmare moving experience. We had them help with moving heavy furniture. They proceeded to destroy our furniture by dragging it down stairs, and road. The two guys about got into a fist fight with each other. We called their boss who told us to send them away. He said to send pictures when we got to our destination and he'd submit it to his insurance company. When we finally got to our destination and sent pictures he totally flipped the story saying because we didn't pay, he won't submit it to his insurance company. Did they get all new help? I had a really obnoxious guy, loud, pushy, defensive. First thing he strong arms the bottom of the bed, which had support legs between the slats and almost tears the whole thing apart. Last thing loaded, dining table, he up ends by the legs and the top falls out on the floor. It just sits in the metal frame. Good thing a small child or pet was not within distance. I was told everything would be wrapped and blankets. Nothing was wrapped or blanketed. When I asked, obnoxious said they would do it in the truck, not! My upstairs neighbor left because obnoxious was so loud, singing, yelling orders. At delivery I was checking on a few things and he yelled at me, "Everything if off of the truck. I check everything." I was quoted one price and they tried to charge me more. When I questioned that, they added a half hour to the time. Perhaps other crews are better, but don't take a chance. Just realized my ring box was missing. So easy to go through drawers when you refuse to wrap as promised. read more

The guys that were out were absolutely incredible. I had them do work at my daughter's house and they had to lift a piano up to a second-floor apartment. They did it without complaint. Then I had them come work at my house moving some things up and down the stairs and I couldn't get home until late in the evening and they agreed to meet me late in the evening even though they were off. I hired 3 men from H&R Moves You to load a rented Penski truck. I drove the truck to my new residence in another state and sadly one of my pieces of luggage a Louis Vuitton costing $1500, is missing. I've used H&R moves you twice, and my mom has used them twice as well. Robert the owner is always so nice and will work you. The price was very fair, I didn't feel like I over paid at all. Recently I had some friends move Across town and they rented a uhaul truck. They paid around $250 for the truck the miles and gas. I paid about a hundred more for the movers to load everything and unload everything. You pay by the hour so make sure you are ready to move. I will NEVER move again without Robert and his men. If you value doing business with an honest and reliable owner of a business, and if you value being able to communicate with this same person then I mean don't and I mean never use this moving company called H & R Moves You. Also known as Three Men And A Truck. We did, and it was one of the worst mistakes we ever made! When they Could not fit all our belongings in the truck, Robert, the owner informed us that they would return the next day with another truck but it would cost us an additional $200.00. When we objected, he told us that if we didn't pay more we wouldn't get our furniture unless we paid the money. Nice Huh! This move ended up costing us $2700.00. We have furniture that was damaged. One piece in particular, our Flemish Commode table that happens to be our favorite table which also happened to be spotless, now has two gauges on the top. Robert claims they took pictures of everything and all the damages were there already. We never saw either of the movers take a single picture-ever! Our real estate agent was present and she agrees. They will not come out to check out the damages. And to top it off he lied and said our real estate agent called him to apologize for the way we talked to her. Can you imagine this? I would give H&R moves you anything but a good review. They moved me and the driver Randy sat in the truck for over 45 minutes on the phone. The other guy Brad was walking around with his thumb up his butt looking like he had absolutely no clue of what he was doing. He walked in and out of my house at least four or five times not carrying anyting and then have the audacity to go back out and sit on the back of the truck where I could see him and get on his phone for the remainder of the hour. So if this is what you call Professional moving I highly recommend you not using this company because they do anything to stretch the time so you have to pay more. I have had movers in the past and it only took them the two-hours to do the job , these guys took over three and a half hours . now if you call that Professional moving I would be disgraced! read more
