I'm not exactly an HEB loyalist, but when I'm in Beaumont, I make it a point to load up on food at one of the two HEBs. And, being a dad, I can't pass up the opportunity to call it by its original name when talking to the girl - with the emphasis on "Butt!" So, on the unusual instance when I was driving from Lumberton to Silsbee, I happened to see an HEB on the west side of US96! And I got my, um, Butt! in there. It was a disappointment. Yes, the prices are low. Yes, I take into account that Lumberton is a smaller town, so it can't support a big store to compete with Brookshire and Market Basket. But it has a smaller selection, and no deli or seafood section like the big guys. More important: the aisle signs are high up, and it's hard to read what they say. It was my first time in this HEB, so the signs didn't help much. But it is laid out similar to the HEB in Orange, so that helped. Clean store. Friendly staff. So it's a good store, convenient to people who live in this part of the town, but could improve. Or maybe I should just Butt! out instead of criticizing the store . . . read more

It's a nice store just because it's an HEB, but this area really needs a Super Store HEB. This store has a lot of items you need, don't get me wrong it's a good store. It's just that to go to a bigger store with a lot more selection you have to go all the way to Beaumont. If they would build a super store on the North end of Lumberton you wouldn't only have Lumberton shoppers, but also Kountz, Silsbee, and others from further north, East, and west!!! We just moved away from an area with a super store and we loved the selections they had there! Meats, veggies, seafood, cheese's, wines, beers, and so many other things. Great little clean and friendly H‑E‑B. Doesn't have all the options you'll get in BMT but they pack all they can In the store!

I go here a lot, so of course I have seen and experienced things that are not perfect. But this is a very good grocery store which deserves 5 stars. The prices are competitive and their meat and other sales blow the competition away. The employees are generally very friendly and helpful. They also stock items you cannot find at the local competition such as xanthan gum and other products for those avoiding carbs or gluten. There have been times I've gotten home with an old product or spoiled product that still had a good date, but have never had an issue returning them. I highly recommend this grocery store above any other in Lumberton, TX. read more

Bought a package of pigskins. Got home and found them bad. Looked at date and they were one year old. Called the store and all they said was bring them back for a refund. I told them they needed to check their shelves to see if there were anymore. Received a call and was told they needed me to bring them in. I received another call saying , for the first time, they were sorry for the problem and they would be sending me a gift card. That was over a month ago and nothing yet. Makes you wander if the care. read more
