I needed a few things so I ran into this HEB. My basket wheel was so wonky. A young man named Alex kindly offered to go grab me a better basket. Then he proceeded to help me find the chicken pot pies. I got what I needed quickly and as I was trying to self check out, which is another thing I don't usually do, the young lady sacking very kindly assisted me and thanked me for at least trying to get it done myself. I'm tired of every time. I'm in the big H.E B. The customer are either dumb or do not care. They put their empty carts in front of the disability carts. So every handicapped person has a hugh task of just trying to get to a disability cart. I can never use the handicapped space for gas because every one that is not handicapped uses it. The H.E.B employees tell me they can not tell them anything. So they just allow their handicapped customers to not be able to use the handicapped gas space. I try to buy my gas somewhere else now. At 6:15 A.M. there are empty carts in front of the disability carts. No, employee is trying to move them out of the way. I had to ask a employee to move the carts today in front of the disability carts. You going to have to put a sign on both walls. In english and Spanish. Those are the main customers. I guess it is just so fun for them to be mean to handicapped people. When I was in my manuel wheelchair. I had to push the carts on the sidewalk out of the way. To be able to just move my wheelchair forward to try to get to the store. There is nothing more aggravating when one male worker at the gas pump. If a 44 size D college girl comes to the gas pump. They always make sure she gets to use the handicapped gas pump. Never can the handicapped use it. The sign is so high up. Some people can't see. That it is for handicapped people. Why would the employees care. Some H.E.B employees make it as hard as a possible for the people who really are handicapped . There are other employees that actually care. I'm not talking about the old man that works at the pump. While don't they just say,We love discriminating against the handicapped. read more

I was overcharged by $18.87 on my HEBtoyou pickup yesterday. Plus they were running late by an hour. Plus, plus, the girl putting the groceries in my car didn't know what she was doing. How can you screw up loading groceries into a car? By stacking all the heavy stuff in one tower and not caring if it topples and crushes everything else you've slung in the car... The manager was very nice when I called and complained but c'mon...how can you not know how to put groceries in a car? Even if that's not your usual job, don't you put your own groceries in your own car? Do you want your Diet Coke crashing down to crush your bananas? The management at this specific location is non existent. Specifically in the cashier/customer service checkout /bagging after 7:30 p.m continuously day in and out. The fresh baked tortillas are non existent as well especially after 7pm. What district manager is in charge of this region? Seriously? The inability to have product and witness staff talking in a group of 3. Consistently 3 days in a row. Without any tortillas to purchase. Bakery staff just sitting in the shut down dark while getting nothing done. Talking about coworkers to the point you'd want to ask if they'll ever have tortillas to purchase after 7pm at this location. Or is the 3 person conversing more important than actually working? I shop here nearly semi daily. Witnessing the young staff of incompetent individuals slack. Opposed to contributing to getting product in front of the consumer is pathetic in this day in age. The lack of concern at this location in the bakery and checkout later in the evening is abysmal. read more

I've been using the H‑E‑B in Wimberley for three years since our move to the area. I initially tried other stores but 2020 killed that effort. The practices used by the store for its employees and patrons were exemplary. Due to my husband's health, I used Curbside for that year. Great group of people who are supported by the whole store. Now I shop both in the store and Curbside as needed. Friendly and helpful employees. Good quality veggies and fruits. Good quality meats, fish, and products. I wouldn't shop here if it wasn't clean. The managers listen well to compliments and requests. Now, if they would start carrying Rosemary Pimento cheese again, it would be bliss! read more

Curbside is terrible here. They do not take care of how they pack their items. Multiple glass containers were shoved in one H-E-B bag. It of course ripped through and busted our tile in a brand new home. They were not willing to rectify the situation appropriately, even with picture proof. Crappy customer service from cashier tonight. Walked up to a register that had the light on, placed my groceries on the belt and shut off the light as I was doing so (without me noticing) then told me she was closed while she was checking out the person in front of me. Told her that her light was on as I started to unload my groceries onto the belt and she just argued with me that it wasn't... I have 20/20 vision and I think I know when a light is on or off. I checkout in a different line and tell the manager (Bella) as she's bagging what happened and LITERALLY didn't say a single word in response, just listened to me. Probably should re train on customer service etiquette as I myself have worked at HEB in the past and currently serve in the military dealing with customer service all day. Also should retrain management if they don't know how to even respond to a complaint. Never go this route but since I got no response felt like I had to and I NEVER complain about much. read more

Pharmacy received a prescription at 2pm on a Saturday for Paxlovid - Yes, for COVID. It was confirmed before the script was sent that they had Paxlovid in stock. Tell me why it's 9am the next day, and I've had 0 contact from them? The point of Paxlovid is to get it into your system the first day. Now, thanks to me trusting this pharmacy would fill a prescription in a reasonable time frame, I'm going to feel terrible for the foreseeable future. How lazy can you be? read more

This store was clean, organized, everyone was wearing a mask, and employees were quite kind. Kind to the degree that even as the customer service person denied me a roll of quarters due to a national coin shortage, I still found them charming. This is specific to the Curbside pickup: every single time the past month we've come to get our order, one or more things are missing. This time, it was the cartons of eggs. The team is clearly not trained in picking (we keep getting moldy produce) or carrying out (we are constantly missing items that are in the cold storage area). The surveys are a joke, we never hear back and there's no improvement in partner training. The rest of the store, especially the pharmacy, are awesome and accurate. I wish they could get Curbside right; I'm tired of wasting hundreds of dollars on items I don't get. read more

Between the two HEBs that are only about a mile from each other, I prefer to go to this particular location. Reasons for this location over the other one by The Square is because like other bigger HEBs, this one is 24 hours. The variety and selection are more varied, and the location and convenience of other stores/ shops is prime compared to the smaller one. I have been going to this location for the past 2 years and they pretty much have everything you need. There is the occasional time where they run out of cauliflower or only have the mushy avocados left, but for the most part, they are always fully stocked. This location is also always busy. Because it is by the college, you will have to (at times) fight the traffic in the parking lot and park far to get to the front doors. Typically they don't stay long and are mostly there for the frozen foods and booze (not hating, I was once there). I would highly recommend this location if you are going to fill up your cart. If you only need 1 or 2 items, then it's worth the drive and wait times to go to the small HEB just down the street pass the river. read more

I decided to make my way around the store before going back because he was socializing... I came back and I wasn't sure if they had closed the or not because nobody was in the front. The same crude guy from before came out asking if I needed something. He was clearly put out. Then when I ordered a half of a chicken he reached far in the case, grabbed the most charred chicken he could find and hacked off roughly a third, shoved the small part into a bag and handed it to me. I just got home and to my disappointment the meat was so burnt and dry that there was basically nothing edible. Forgive me for being just a little pissed that my burnt dinner tonight was intentionally selected by a punk kid who was mad that I wanted him to do his job. HEB has one of the better web pages for getting a Covid Vaccination. Three members of my family have gotten vaccinations from different HEBs without any issue. This HEB pharmacy was disorganized and required the patient to stand close to other people for an extended period of time. However, the fourth person to vaccinated used this HEB and we are receiving annoying ROBO SPAM calls from this HEB advertising their services. I don't want to not answer the phone from a pharmacy, because it "might" be critical, but nor should I be required to answer stupid ROBO calls trying to sell me services. A phone number left with a pharmacy SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR ROBO SPAM!!! The federal government has been talking (they rarely act) about limiting the way that pharmacies can use your personal data, and this proves that they should. Otherwise this HEB would get 2.8 stars. A small but acceptable grocery store. read more

When I first moved to San Marcos in 2014, I enjoyed shopping at this HEB every morning. NOT ANY MORE!!!! First, they made the aisles more narrow to accommodate more beer and wine - if you get 2 baskets in an aisle, you have a bottle neck - worse if there is one of those oversized curbside carts with their rude employees giving you dirty looks for being in their way. Then they moved all the products around, some to very obscure places in the store. They completely closed off the paper goods aisle from the cross aisle connecting all the non-food/pain relievers/ hair products/etc. - so you have to go all the way to the end of the aisle to get around to the paper goods. And speaking of the annoying curbside operation going on inside the store, they dedicated a dozen or more prime parking spaces to curbside only customers. Now every morning, cars are crawling around like ants at a picnic trying to find a decent parking space. I used to say that whenever I go to a Walmart, I leave with 10 reasons to hate it. Now, unfortunately, I have that same feeling every morning when I leave the San Marcos HEB - in short, IT SUCKS!!! read more

As good as it gets for San Marcos vegetarians. If you eat vegetables, you may have a difficult time adjusting to this location. I can't speak for the meat, but the freshness and quality of the produce is pretty crap. I literally have never seen so many banged up peppers, yellowing greens, and overripe avocados in all my life. And I worked produce for a couple years at a natural foods supermarket. They do carry some organic produce here, which typically looks better than the conventional, but you have to pay more for it, of course. Hippies fear not--they do stock many great vegetarian option foods, pseudo-meats, and all natural products. As far as "always being packed," I haven't found this HEB any more packed than other super markets during peak hours. Just use common sense if you want to avoid the crowd. read more

For being in San Marcos this HEB is an Oasis here outside of Austin. They have a nice cheese selection an amazing bakery and a produce selection that is not to shabby. The beer and wine section hold a variety of options that range from Paps to Chimay. The meat and seafood section have fresh cuts and catches that you can select from or just tell the HEB partner working the respective counters and you can get a special cut for whatever occasion. As a big seafood college kid the bulk bags of frozen fillets of extra fish are always a great deal. The other day I was able to get 3lbs. of Tilapia for six bucks. Another big plus for me is how clean the store is and if you come in from the right side of the store from the parking lot you will be hit by the wonderful smell of fresh flowers and bread from the bakery. I could go on and on but to sum up. If you don't have time to run into Austin for Central Market the run by the Big HEB. read more

Oy vey. What is there to say about this bleh HEB? I mean for being the biggest HEB in a town of at least 30,000 college students & even more locals, you would think it would be better. Veggies aren't as fresh as they should be. Deli & pharmacy close super early. They have NEVER had a Passover section (annoys me during Passover because I can't find matzah) & I have even contacted a manager about it. The college students working the few open registers are nice and helpful. Gas is always cheap and usually never has a line. Open 24 hours. Not the best, not the worst but hey... I can work with what I've got! read more
