The staff were lovely and checked to see if I enjoyed the scone and if I wanted a bacon sarnie to take with me! The coffee shop also had some farm-themed gifts, greeting cards and nik-naks for giving your home a touch of country feel. The place had been newly finished with extra seating inside next to a cosy log burner. There is also extensive seating outside where there is also a mini bouncy castle! I ordered a mozzarella, fresh kale and sundried tomato baguette and it was delicious. The bread was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and the contents were so fresh - it was gorgeous. I then treated myself to a peppermint tea and a white chocolate and pistachio cookie - such an unusual and classy combo! Loved it! The *only* thing I could complain about was that the infuser for the peppermint tea leaves was a little loose so a lot of the leaves escaped into my glass but I was able to fish them out easily and the tea was lovely so I really didn't mind :-) I only wish I was based in the business district of Liverpool so I could frequent this lovely place more often. I like how they are one of the only coffee joints in the city to offer collection via Uber, this is in comparison to Starbucks who force you to use their app and Costa who again force you to use their app, unless you want delivery. I do think product stock could also be improved for example I was unable to order a large latte today, either hot or iced but I could order a large version of another beverage ie) a mocha. The store is up a step but they are happy to serve customers from outside the store if there is no way of them of getting into the store. Beverages seem to be made in minutes, even for UberEATS order. The 5-15 minutes window should be more like five minutes or less. The prices are really good and competitive too for basic beverages, it did seem a tad more than Starbucks (Only because I have Gold Level where I receive syrups and an extra shot for free, which I have to pay for here) Looking forward to finally sitting in here to enjoy a coffee when the government legislation changes! 4*

At least the coffee was nice and the prices were cheaper than Starbucks. The downside is there is hardly any space to sit compared to the bigger coffee chains. When you first visit this may seem a little strange, a bit like those overzealous fake smiling employees at Selfridges who ask you if you need any help every 2 minutes. (I can say that, I used to be one) Not the case here, the staff are extremely helpful and attentive. Love and affection oozes from the place. From the meticulously decorated deli counter, to the large family portrait that adorns the wall. I may just have found THE Italian go to place in the entire region. That means that I am loath to rely on the anaemic slabs of water-pumped, antibiotic-addicted chicken that line the fridges of Messrs Tesco and Saino. Yeah, I'll use them if they're going to be smothered and pulverised in a slow-cooked stew or curry. But if I'm braising a lamb shank or searing a fillet steak, I want quality. Axons, my friends, is quality. There's no denying it. Back when I lived in ye olde Didsy-B, I would scrape my pennies and every now and then I'd pop to Axons and treat myself to a particularly plump breast of corn-fed chicken, or a devastatingly juicy sirloin. The venison on offer here (seasonably, obvio) is truly incredible. Dense, dark and just that right amount of dank pungency. I honestly haven't had venison that good since I ate at a weird hunting lodge in teh Czech Republic. I am actually salivating right now, imagining that meat. The meat here is obviously more expensive than at the supermarket, but not prohibitively so. Expect to pay about a quid more for your workaday meats such as mince, but seeing as their mince has less fat and crap in it, you're getting about twice as much real meat.
