Founded in 1997 by Chip McElroy, Live Oak was built with a simple idea "make beer for people who actually like the taste of beer." In 2015, Live Oak moved to their current location on a beautiful property along the Colorado River, opening a taproom and biergarten. One its unique features...it's off the beaten path of other breweries. Live Oak Brewing is north of the airport and backs to the Fast Park remote airport parking lot. At first glance it looks like it's a convergence of a fire station and deserted manufacturing plant. The grounds are impeccable...tall statuesque trees, lush green vegetation and an extensive outside biergarten. It feels like you are in a nature bubble. Interestingly, Live Oak Brewing has its own on site 18 hole disc golf course (different from traditional golf) located directly on the brewery's property. Live Oak Brewing's interior has the feel of a German Hofbräu...homey, spacious, and welcoming, with long communal tables that encourage conversation and human interaction. You can see directly into the brewing space, with large tanks and equipment. Also, board games are available if you choose to play. Live Oak is family friendly and dog friendly. In fact, Groot, the owner's dog, freely roams through the brewery drinking area. While I only had sips of beer (not a big beer drinker), my friends enjoyed their beers. Live Oak Brewery Company is a super fun place to hang out.

Service great, as the gentleman working offered an explanation for their selection. It was a little disappointing that they had such a limited selection at the time I visited but maybe next time they'll have more options.

It's exactly the kind of welcoming, laid-back space that makes you want to relax and enjoy the vibe. Service Service was attentive and friendly overall. The only minor note: we would have appreciated more frequent plate changes between courses. Food We discovered some of the best gluten-free cuisine in Austin here...hands down. Every dish showcased fresh ingredients and thoughtful flavor balance: Guacamole: Rich with a well-judged cumin note that enhanced without overpowering Ceviche: A perfectly light appetizer without being aggressively citrusy or fishy Tempura de Pescado Tacos: The standout of the meal. The fish was pristine, each element (sauce, fresh greens, fish) came together seamlessly Duck Panucho Tacos: night quite as impressive but still great textural contrast and vibrant fresh flavors. We're already planning to try the wagyu option next visit Churros: A stellar finish with three complementary sauces. Crispy exterior, soft interior, and excellent flavor Beverages The margaritas were exceptional! Top-notch quality that rounded out the meal perfectly. Overall This was easily our favorite restaurant in Austin. Highly recommended.

Majority of seating is out doors, plenty of shade, fans and misters there were also heaters sitting around when cool weather strikes. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable about the offerings , she was sure to check in with us through our time here. The arroz mariscos was my favorite dish, topped with the spicy sauce they served separately, I did noticed there was 6 muscle shells but 3 of them were empty. we also had the following: causa limena - it was good I really liked the civiche on top, the chicken salad wasn't too amazing and the potato was intresting, the juice at the bottom was delish! arroz chaufa - this was a fried rice dish , it did have a little cinnamon in it so beware if you don't like cinnamon/ lomo à la hauncaina- I tried the noodles which were a great texture- they sauce it was served in was okay- wasn't crazy about it and I didn't try the meat but heard it was amazing! tacu tacu - pan fried potatoe pattie toooed w onions and cilantro, loved this dipped in the spicy sauce we had on the side! papa andinas -not a favorite, tastes plain with lots of flavorless seasoning dusted on them- they were okay once dipped in the sauces served on the side but the potatoes them self needed salt and maybe another seasoning to make them pop sarza criolla - just a mix a red onions, cilantro and seasonings- a few dishes were already topped with this mixture. 10/10 recommend checking them out !
