Clean and well organized supermarket with a food court and local shops within its plaza. Food is nice and fresh with a nice variety of Korean ingredients and goods. Exotic fruits can also sometimes be purchased like durian and cacao. Paris Baguette and Tiger milk tea are some popular stores in their food court. There is also an art box which sells imported Korean stationary, plushies, trinkets in the store as well as a section of crane/gachapon games. Hot food is available near the kimchi section featuring packaged rice cakes and Korean fried chicken (rotates every now and then). Alcohol is available to be purchased (such as soju, sake, and other imported drinks) near the front. Minor appliances like rice cookers and various cutlery and dish ware are also available. Free parking through store parking lot.

Huge selection! Even bigger than my local No1 Asian Supermarket in the northeast. It's also more fresh and due to the higher quality, higher price. They have everything our family usually gets for a Chinese hotpot--even down to the tofu skin rolls. My go to is their whole coconut and lemongrass. Sometimes their lobsters are affordable at $7/lb (June). They have fresh live seafood, frozen, and on ice. They carry a vast range of varieties from Korean to Japanese to Chinese options. Anything you can think of, they'll have it. From black rice to Natto. Probably the largest Asian supermarket in all of Philly haha (don't quote me on it) but I had trouble finding certain ingredients in Chinatown's two most well known grocery stores: Heng Fa & AsianFresh (due to their limited size capacity), such as coconut and lemongrass. No1 Asian Supermarket does have more variety, but it's not always fresh as I've sighed and settled for their molded lemongrass. Hmart doesn't have as large of selection of live swimming fishes as No1 though. Although there's another Hmart in Elkins Park, this one is more large and spacious. I believe I like the food court and Paris Baguette over at Elkins Park better though. Opens 365 days including holidays. Does not do grocery deliveries.

This time around, we tempered our food court ordering and got Bulgogi Fried Noodle from Da Pan (perfectly al dente noodles, crisp cabbage, bulgogi, mushrooms, and scallions, all kept piping hot from the stone serving platter) and Kimchi Ramen from Mari Mari (a zingy, acidic broth), plus another cheese bulgogi inari and an eel inari. We managed to make it through the grocery store portion post-lunch without requiring more than the four reusable grocery bags we had equipped ourselves with. And we got Tiger Sugar boba on our way out: the bestselling #2 (which would've been perfect sans jelly cubes*) and the coffee-laced #4. P.S. If you want gimbap (especially on a weekend day) you'll want to get there earlier still than 12:30PM, as the gimbap table was already empty upon arrival to H Mart! *should've trusted my instinct re the jelly cubes knowing my dislike of jello.

I like #4 on the menu. You can eat in or take out. There is also a bubble tea place inside And 8 places to pick from and a bakery.

Huge and super clean. I've been a fan of Hmarts however even my expectations were exceeded. It really is amazing enough for me to rave about a grocery store! First, the COVID measures are excellent. Temperature checks on your way in. Hand sanitizers everywhere. Free gloves. And everyone had masks on. The selection is top notch. It was easy to get lost in the numerous aisles. The produce, meats, and fish were extremely fresh. Their prices are decent. Their sale prices are great. I didn't have time to explore but this location also has a food court with a good variety of Asian eats. I'll be back!

I like H mart. When I was in California went there.same as Michigan. Visit New York went also. Here in Philly wow more than 1 store around. But my friend recommended here. Big and many parking spot. Many restaurants at food court. Size of store is like Chicago, or California! It is big. I love it. But not only I can buy Korea stuff... also buy many other Asian stuff too!! Also it is very important to have big parking place like here! I really recommend here to buy Asian stuff also eat Korean food at food court !

Selection here is awesome. Fresh veg and fruit, amazing fish section. Lots of discounted goods to try new things you wouldn't normally buy. Lots of other goods besides food as well. Any spice or ingredient you need for cooking they will have. Also nice food court section attached.

I was here trying to get some quick grocery shopping done. I needed to help my baby change a poopy diaper. I can't believe there is a staff inside the only stall that has a baby changing table and was talking on the phone! I ended up changing my baby's poopy diaper near by the sinks in her stroller! Unbelievable how staff just hog the largest stall and the only one with the baby changing table. Sad. I hope that person isn't just talking on the phone but actually taking care of her business.

There are 3 H Marts in the Philly area but this one is definitely my favorite! The combination of grocer and fresh meals you can buy is amazing. H Mart has a wide selection of Asian foods, many being Korean which has some really good stuff. One of the best things to buy here is the pre marinated bulgogi and the meat Korean snacks that are available. You can also get regular products and things you may find in a typical grocery store. The freezer section at these stores are also really good. You can find frozen meals and unique dishes as well as delicious Asian desserts. The mochi ice creams are always really good. The food court at H Mart is always very enjoyable. You can find basically anything in terms of Asian cuisine. The Korean fried chicken is always solid and options are vast. You can find something for everyone here. This H mart also sells Soju and other Korean alcohol which is a plus compared to the other H Marts in the area. The selection was huge. Highly recommend soju. Overall a great grocery store with lots of unique food options and goods. Highly recommend.

This HMart is amazing compared to other Asian markets in the area. Very clean! The Asian market I was going to stopped carrying a lot of staple Filipino groceries I was so use to buying. At this spot, I am able to find my stuff plus other Asian staple items. The food court is great too!

I think of it more as a…read moreneighborhood market than a traditional supermarket, a place where you can quickly pick up what you need and be on your way without feeling overwhelmed. Its smaller footprint, especially for this location, works in its favor. The store is bright, clean, and well-organized, which immediately elevates the experience. The lively music, upbeat energy, and beautiful packaging create a fun, almost "adult amusement park" atmosphere. Even when it's busy, and the lines look long, they move quickly and efficiently. I usually walk, but there's a parking lot behind the store and street parking nearby when needed. What truly makes this place special is the staff. They are consistently warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. If you ask about an item, they walk you right to it, and they never seem bothered if you interrupt while they're stocking shelves. I also appreciate the team's continuity. Over time, you start to recognize familiar faces, and I've met crew members who transferred here from places like Oakland and Charleston, which speaks to a strong internal culture and mobility within the company. Just being in the store lifts my spirits. Another standout is the curated selection. Trader Joe's carries a fraction of the SKUs you'd find in a typical grocery store, about one-tenth as many, and that dramatically reduces decision fatigue. Instead of comparing endless versions of the same product, you can trust that what's on the shelf is a good choice. It makes shopping faster, easier, and far more enjoyable. Prices are competitive, and the quality is strong across the board. The meat and fish are generally fresh, the produce is reliable, and while I occasionally try something that's just average, the overall hit rate is excellent. The rotating seasonal items add a festive, timely element that makes each visit feel a little different and always fun, whether you're getting into the spirit of a holiday, planning a dinner party, or just trying something new. Some of my regular favorites are the Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Shawarma, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, Chocolate Croissants, Bolognese sauce, Green Chile Chicken Bowl, Cookie Butter ice cream, the Focaccia Baguette, the fresh salmon, grilled sliced chicken, and the eucalyptus plants, which always make my apartment feel calmer and more inviting. More broadly, this company feels like it was built with real love and creativity. There is a genuine culture of celebrating people for who they are and encouraging everyone, both customers and crew, to show up authentically, and you can feel that the moment you walk in. Trader Joe's is also intentionally a bit mysterious and low profile as a brand. If you're ever curious about the backstory, the Freakonomics podcast episode on the company is fantastic and explains many of the thoughtful, unconventional decisions that you notice reflected in the stores. It's incredibly rare to watch a company scale the way this one has while still holding onto its character and values. This location is a perfect microcosm of why Trader Joe's is such a special and distinctive brand: great value, efficient shopping, carefully curated products, and genuinely kind people, all in a space that consistently leaves me happier than when I walked in. I always look forward to coming here. Thank you!

Of course, you can expect to maybe wait a bit during peak hours (before work, right after work), but they usually have someone stationed at the front of the lot to only let you in once there's a space available. A nice courtesy! Inside this location is kept stocked, organized, and clean. I think the only time I was not able to find something was when roads froze over and caused for one of their morning shipments to get canceled. External factors aside, you should be able to find anything you're looking for here in stock. The lines can definitely wrap around the store during peak shopping times, but the system they have to push people through the checkouts proceeds as fast as I could imagine. They've got a well-oiled machine here, and just have that many customers. Finally, just one anecdote. One time my wife was shopping here last minute for flowers after a friend's pet died. Since she was running late, she asked the person directly cashier traffic if she could cut the line and checkout with just her flowers. The person proceeded to ask for the flowers, cut off the tag, and let her go without purchase. Amazing service is just the norm here!

New York will always be a singular, extraordinary place to me, but Rittenhouse Market has come to represent my transition into Philly and my growing appreciation for what makes this city special. After getting married in 2021, I moved here full-time. Leaving New York was bittersweet, and apartment hunting during COVID was emotional. I'd never imagined living anywhere else. But discovering Rittenhouse Market immediately pulled me toward this neighborhood and helped it feel like home. Today, it's a staple of my daily life. The market is organic, well cared for, and thoughtfully run by people who understand their community. Prices are fair, the selection is practical yet discerning, and nothing feels overly precious or performative. The staff is consistently friendly and knowledgeable, with almost no turnover, which gives the place a rare sense of continuity. Countless small touches reflect its role as a neighborhood institution: stamps, cards, Christmas trees, firewood, those random essentials you don't realize you need until you do. It's a modern corner market that still remembers its roots. My previous local markets were Gourmet Garage, Citarella, and Gristedes. Rittenhouse Market feels like the best elements of all three: the charm and curation, the organic sensibility, the everyday practicality, without the usual tradeoffs. It's a market rather than a full-scale grocery, but the breadth of offerings is impressive. (Their South Street location, South Square Market, is even larger.) The store functions as a kind of mini town square for neighborhood residents, and the people watching is great. The staff and regulars have this effortlessly cool, authentic, and unpretentious vibe that feels very Philly. While I love gourmet spots like Di Bruno Bros, which serve a different purpose, Rittenhouse Market is where daily life actually happens. They complement each other perfectly. For me, this place mirrors the experience of settling into Philadelphia, becoming a family person, and finding a rhythm that balances convenience with character. It's not engineered for trends or social media, just quietly confident in what it is. That combination, progressive and global yet grounded and unpretentious, is exactly what I've come to love about Philly. Rittenhouse Market embodies that spirit, and I'll remain a loyal customer as long as I live nearby. Thank you!
