My family hired Shane Carter and Ridgeview Construction for the building of a single residence home…read morein Newmarket, NH. We were looking for a "green" builder who had experience working with energy efficient building concepts during our search. We found Shane on the internet and after an initial meeting with him, decided to work with his architect to design the home. RC helped us integrate a # of "green" elements into the home including structurally integrated panels (SIPs), a air-source heat pump (ducted with HRV), locally sourced white pine flooring, reclaimed interior doors, energy star windows and doors (41 in total), a heat pump water heater, and thoughtful integration of the entire energy system to take best use the energy generated by our solar tracker. The RC team and their subcontractors were all very professional; performed exemplary work and ended up building the exact house that we wanted. They essentially took a Powerpoint drawing that we made and turned it into a house. Some of our favorite design elements of the house are the reclaimed doors that we purchase from Architectural Salvage in Exeter, NH; an extremely well planned and space efficient pantry, built in book cases in our office; stained glass windows that look into the stairs from our kids bedrooms and a beautiful farmhouse sink that we had obtained for free from a house in Newfields (which they masterfully cut to fit under the windows). RC was very flexible throughout the entire building process and made adjustments as we made small changes during the build. Shane was also very helpful in making sure that we were well within our allowances and went out of his way to help us save money. Our total project costs ended up being under the original cost projections because of savings he found us in our allowances. We were extremely happy with Ridgeview and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in "green" building in NH. Thanks Shane, Andy and the entire Ridgeview team-Jon, Jane, George, Eva and Bonnie.

His so called superintendent is clueless about construction/ code. Every faze of the project had issues for not being done right at the end of all of it I was shorted $800 in labor and my millage was not reimbursed on my check. I was also the fifth carpenter to work for them on one project i do not recommend any one hire this company if you want to keep you sanity and have a quality home built on time and on budget ALL CLIENTS WERE VERY UPSET WITH SHANE ON ALL HOMES I WORKED ON

Ian Williams is my brother, so I'm obviously biased, but his handyman work and contracting work is…read moresuperb! He gave my husband and me the gift of the installation of a custom fold-down cutting board where a rickety fold-down ironing board used to be. This, of course, was totally his idea because he's creative like that. The cutting board is beautiful, solid, and functional, adding 30% more surface area to our kitchen. It's far superior to the ironing board that was there previously. He used top notch parts, sourced from specialty cabinet makers, to construct it. Ian was also timely and cleaned up after himself. I would feel confident hiring Ian for bigger projects, as I have seen him helping his former employer (my Dad) build bathrooms, kitchens, basements, and more. Sure, I may be his sister, but I'm his older sister and thus prone to harsh judgement... so you know you can trust my review, and Ian with all of your handyman needs.

Ian completed a bathroom remodel in our 1940s town house. Before Ian came to our aid, the bathroom…read morewas a nightmare--kelly green tile, broken prefab shower, water damage, and crumbling studs. Ian reframed our space and created a luxurious corner shower complete with an inset shelf for shampoo. His tiling job was excellent! He also thought to create a handy door to a water shut off that will be a huge help if we have issues in the future! Despite having a full bath steps from our bedroom, my husband and I both shower in the basement now, enjoying our spa-like retreat from Hilltop Renovations! Ian was a considerate worker while in our home. He took care of our living spaces by laying drop cloths and covering furniture to minimize drywall dust. He was super pleasant and personable--the dog missed him when our job was done. We highly recommend Ian for your next project. Margot and Nathan D.
