The prices on their items is RIDICULOUS - $150 for an unrepairable, peeling water damaged dresser
Joy L.

I stand by my previous assessment. Every since HfH moved to this location, this place is a bunch of disorganized, overpriced garbage. Whoever does their pricing really doesn't know how to price, or take quality or condition into account. Don't waste your time coming here.

I was surprised that I could post a review on this although these are private residences conducting…read morebusiness on personal belongings that they don't need or have an excess amount to unload. Once again, summertime is here and that means garage sales citywide for anyone looking for bargains at a fraction of the cost by regular retailers or treasure-hunting for a rare, hard-to-find item just sitting in someone's attic or storage room. I look forward to these events every weekend just to take advantage of the warm, sunny weather and of course, the thrill of the hunt for that rare vinyl record hidden in a stack of milk crates or cardboard boxes. I find that the shopping experience is a lot more laid-back when meeting the people holding the garage sales despite the fact that you may not find what you need or want from time to time. Some are decent families who go out of their way to welcome visitors by having their kids make fresh lemonade or homemade cookies for only 25 cents making it that much more enjoyable personally. As far as items go, anything can be found that could be worth more than what the asking price is. Clothing, furniture, antiques, household goods, electronics, books, tools, sporting goods, and DVDs among others are some good finds that are still like new or never been used. When shopping for vinyl records, I save as much as $10 or $20 on a stack that can also be negotiable for a lower price as the weekend draws to a close. Certain garage sales will do this on every single item for as much as 50 to 75% off after 2PM on Sundays. In certain cases, you may be lucky to get that item for free rather than the sellers wanting to put it back in storage. Some good resources to find a garage sale close to you or one that carries a particular item you're looking for are the classifieds on the Anchorage Daily News's website, Craiglist, or Marketplace on Facebook. This is one of the more enjoyable weekend activities you can take advantage of outside instead of going to the mall or watching a movie in the theater during the middle of the day.

Traditional Marble & Granite Aka Traditional Granite and Marble…read more166 E Potter Dr, Anchorage, AK 99518 "2017" Inferior installation, and the owner deemed it satisfactory even though the seams are quite visible and the counter tops protrusion over the cabinets vary from 1 inch to 1 & 3/4 inch at various points down the face of the cabinets. The hole for the kitchen faucet was not centered, though that was our request. The finished counter top is visibly not level. We were left with damaged walls and white contrasting caulking, well over the thickness of a pencil in places. They even shortened up our islands previous size, obviously to save on materiel, but made no mention to us! I have never experienced such shoddy workmanship in all of my 60 years. We feel taken advantage of. I don't know if they just didn't measure correctly or if they just didn't care but in the end we are out 6000.00 dollars and no explanation from our sales rep at Traditional Marble & Granite, Jerry Faulkner, who told us to take it up with the owner, Don Denney, who in turn said, yeah I saw the end result and it looked fine to me. Buyers beware. Addendum- 2018 Only after I agreed to take down the video posted on social media of the shoddy workmanship and damage involved in the installation of the quartz countertops done by Traditional Granite and Marble aka Tradional Marble and Granite, the owner and manager agreed to come and take a second look at the job that was done in our kitchen. They would not agree to removing the countertops or refunding us our money, but would only agree to re-doing the job. Why in the world would we ever trust them to do this job again? Don't go here if you expect to get the piece and quality you selected! I met with the owner (who…read morewas great BTW) who showed me the remnant selection. I chose the one that would suit my needs and style and he even had one of the guys cut me a piece to take home. Next day he came and did the initial measurement. Got the quote a day later and put the deposit down. This is where I should have known it was going too well. When I hadn't heard from them in a few weeks, I called to see what the status was. I was told by the office manager Nicole that they could come out and install it the next day (which was a Saturday) which is awesome since both my husband and I work. When the installer came, the countertop was different than the one I picked. And, not to my surprise, nobody answered a call from their installer to work the situation out. When we called the following week, the office manager, Nicole, told me that I had chosen a number 1 and number 2 priority and they gave me whatever was available. This didn't happen, of course, because I was there with the owner and I only picked one remnant. The remnant that they chose on my behalf was lighter and thinner than the one I chose. When we complained, she only reduced the price by $100 which is less than 10%. Now, the remnant I chose is sold and we have no immediate resolution. I would say that the owner seemed good to work with at the beginning but now is of no help. Also, the installer seems to be real nice and apologetic for his office staff even though none of this is his fault. The workmanship seems to be good but if you want to actually choose the style/color of counter, don't go here!
