A trip to Cheyenne for the day (without my sister) called for Mexican food. Hacienda Guadalajara looked fun and the food looked delicious. Dining here did not disappoint. The interior is lovely with bright pops of color and a big open dining room. Great for larger parties! Service was great and the food was out shortly after we ordered. You get tons of food and all for an affordable price. Two taco plate. So good and the taco shells weren't soggy like most other Mexican restuarants. Disgusting, nothing was even warm. Queso fundido just a solid blob of unmelted cheese and it wasn't even chorizo but Italian sausage instead.... This place was delicious!! Passing through town and needed some lunch. Great salsa and beans served with chips. I ordered the espresso burrito with pork, and it was delicious. Full of big chunks of pork with a enchilada sauce to smother it. Friends had beef enchiladas and guacamole tostada. We supplemented it with fried jalapeños, yum. Service was friendly and they were very quick to get your request for extra hot salsa from the kitchen. Now the hot salsa was not too hot but flavor was amazing. We liked everything about this restaurant. The food was good, the service was great. The only disappointment was they do not have a locally made whiskey. Sadly there is a distillery a block away and owned and operated by veterans, because the owners of the restaurant have multiple locations in several states and they want a "corporate" feel. I suggested have everything standardized yet carry a local beer and whiskey at each location to support the local businesses. If they had the local whiskey they would have gotten five stars. read more

I have had tea rule of not having Mexican food north of Oklahoma but after coming to this place I am going to rethink this rule. I grew up on the border of Mexico so understand what good Mexican food should be and this place has it going on. I had the Carne Avadio (sp) and a Chile Reliono both very good. Something kind of different is that along with chips and salsa they serve warm beans, a nice twist. Staff was very pleasant and food service was quick. They do have a sign up that there is an up charge for credit card payment but it is only a small charge. Highly recommend this place. read more

Was referred by a friend to try this place and definitely will be back! Great food and service! I had the espresso burrito! Smothered in green chili and amazingly tender and large chunks of pork! My friend had the Colorado burrito which he said was as equally good. It was basically the same except with red chili and steak! Great atmosphere that was very traditional Mexican design! This was for lunch but expect that coming back for an evening meal will be equally exceptional! Two lunch meals for around $30 total including drinks. The restaurant is decorated to give the feeing if eating in a villa, thats full of bright loud colors to give a vibrant feeling. Everything was moderately clean and the service was quick. We received chips, salsa and beans to snack on before our order was taken. The burrito was delicious and had complaints. The burrito was toped with all the typical fixings, and smothered in red sauce that I wish had a but more flavor. All ingredients used were good and felt like a typical burrito nothing especially great nor bad. Great for a family sit down. A very casual place to eat. This place was popping on a Friday night, but surprisingly, we were able to get a table without a wait. The menu is huge...pages and pages of food. If Cheesecake Factory designed a menu for a Mexican restaurant, it might look like this. I wasn't impressed with the chips, which were too thick and rather tasteless, the salsa, which was too thin and also without much flavor, or the refried bean dip, which was just kind of weird. My daughters split a fajitas for two platter, which was fairly massive. Chicken and beef were both good...a pretty decent value for the amount of food they got. My wife had the cheese enchiladas...decent, but not the best ever. I had the seafood quesadillas, which had good flavor and definitely a lot of seafood, but not much cheese, so they fell apart easily and were a mess to eat. Guacamole wasn't the best and had a dull color indicating perhaps it wasn't the freshest. Service was fairly consistent, yet unspectacular throughout. If we lived in Cheyenne, we'd likely come back. Of course, if we lived here, not sure we'd have much choice. read more

My friends and I came in for lunch while we were in town for Frontier Days. We shared chicken and steak fajitas (for 1, not 2!) and it was an extremely generous amount of food. REALLY disappointed when I went to Guadalajara today. I ordered a bean tostada and a deep fried taco and drink which would have been $14. I also added guacamole and sour cream to my meal. They charged me $10 JUST for guacamole and sour cream and then charge me 3% to use my debit card, so my total bill was $25 !!!!!!!! I also talk to the manager, and all he said was oh sorry. All I have to say is sorry to Guadalajara. They just lost all of my business!!!!! read more

I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone looking for "Authentic Mexican Food" the food was horrible, especially the salsa. I mean, how do you mess up salsa!? It gets 2 stars, for the waitress who was extremely nice and agreed that the food sucks there, and the ceviche was decent. I've never been the type of person to send back food, but I sent back the shrimp cocktail The shrimp ceviche, which was surprisingly cooked well and after I added a shit ton of salt and LIME.. it tasted like ceviche.. don't see the need to fix up a plate that I'm spending $22 on... it should already slapp coming out the kitchen..
