Drinks were tasty and priced well. Had the Botana with beef fajita. The meat was so good and tender. Wait staff was great.

I was happy to see menudo with hominy. Some places leave that out. I did have to request napkins but other then that the food was delicious and service amiable. The ambiance is definitely family oriented. I did see a bar in a separate room but, no one was using it. Been there around 6 pm evening during the week and that bar was empty too. When I had the COVID I would order there soup and they would deliver it still hot and the food was gawwwwdd!!!

So I took my wife there for her bday...I ordered the flautas and she ordered the Tacos Gobernadores (shrimp tacos). First, the tostadas they brought out (as a chip and salsa) were cold and seemed a few hours old. The salsa was nice tasting. Then, they brought out my plate first and it took maybe close to 10minutes before they brought out hers. You should always try and bring them out together. My flautas seemed to be freshly made...they were hot inside. However, the tortillas were extremely hard and the chicken inside was very dry. The flauta plate came with a caldo de pollo (chicken soup)...it seemed more like just vegetable soup with a bit of shredded chicken inside. Plus, the shredded chicken was also extremely dry and thats considering it's in soup. My wife's shrimp tacos were pretty good....and that's what gets the one star. The place itself looked a little old. The chairs were uncomfortable. And they had music playing continuously from the same Mexican artist from maybe the 60s and 70s. It felt like they placed the greatest hits CD on repeat because that was all we heard. Definitely not going back. read more

If there is a place in heaven for Mexican food ...that's the place that will remind you. Male bartender and owner were most hamables. Wish I could've stay to enjoy my meal and my time there longer. I had some unexpected events soon after I had a very short stay and needed to rush back to San Antonio where I'm from. This used to be a favorite place of mine about three years ago! Took my granddaughter for Valentine's Day yesterday and the service was very good but the food was very disappointing! The corn tortillas have shrunk in size and I ordered Tacos Gobernador with shrimp and when I opened one taco there was one tiny piece of shrimp with lots of onion and tomato! The shrimp wasn't even half an inch long! I showed it to the waiter and he took my plate back and added more shrimp to it. In that case I could've made my own onion and tomato tacos at home! I was quite skeptical about this little hole in the wall as I pulled up And especially when I walked in and saw only two servers on a Saturday afternoon for lunchtime. I walked out of there so surprised.....the food was actually super homemade was not Tex-Mex and quite well served for the price of lunch specials my Monday through Saturday 11:30 AM to 4 PM for 7.99!!! I got the flautas lunch special it was certainly a hefty bed of lettuce with sour cream rice and beans and a side little bowl of chicken soup. All day margaritas for 3.00 and the free tostadas and fresh queso was a bonus! This was a nice spot for lunch. The place itself is nice and has a traditional feel to it. As soon as we we sat down we got the cheese and tostadas. It was a great way to start lunch! I noticed a device on the table. Depending on what you need, you press a button and the waiters are notified on a watch they all wear. Pretty cool! I had the chile relleno de queso (so good I couldn't get a picture) which came with rice and beans. It wasn't the most amazing one I've had, but it good. Finished lunch with a cup of coffee. Overall the service is great which is what has me wanting to go back and try another one of their dishes. read more

I went on a Wednesday evening for a small birthday dinner. The place looks old but it's okay, it didn't smell or look ugly, after all it's a restaurant named HACIENDA. On Wednesday's they have karaoke, which was really fun. When it was time to order food I knew the waitress was going to mix up our orders because she didn't write down a single order, and at time there were 5 of us. She kept repeating orders back to us and then she would leave and come back to ask again what it was that we ordered. She should've just saved all that trouble and just write down what we wanted. I ordered their American enchilada plate which it was four (very thin) cheese enchiladas with sides of refried beans, rice, and a small salad. The beans and cheese were very good in taste. The enchiladas, on the other hand, tasted like the sauce came straight from a can. Very generic, not at all homemade. They were so thin you couldn't tell they had cheese inside. Not happy at all, especially because they were a little pricey, about $11 when they're usually $9 in other restaurants. At the time to pay the waitress took foreverrrrrrr to bring back our tabs, and she also brought them in different times so some had already paid and were waiting for others to barely get their tab. Overall, I score this place a 3 because it's still fun, beer is good, and sides are good. read more

This is currently my favorite Mexican restaurant from delicious authentic Mexican food to friendly staff members and great decor. Growing up in the valley I'm fond of flour tortillas however their corn tortillas are phenomenal. I have tired their mixed fajita platter (chicken/beef) which was absolutely delicious (even our finicky family members ate it up), sopa tlalpeno (best that I have had in a while), caldo de pollo (average) and their jalapeño margarita (I was hesitant at first but it's a MUST). This is the best Mexican restaurant in town. They taste is exceptional. I love the plate of cheese with crispy corn tortillas and salsa. It's a complimentary appetizer while you await your food. The fideo is so good. All soups are delicious. My favorite plate is the "pollo poblano" in a creamy sauce. The music is a little loud. But you can always ask someone to turn it down. I really don't like giving ratings like this but twice now I have had terrible experiences when ordering take out. Both times I arrived after giving them the time they said it would take to have the order ready and both times I had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes. Both times they left off items that I ordered. When I had to go back the first time to pick up the missing items they actually tried to give me someone else's order. On my second order I arrived only to be told they were out of Gorditas. They claimed to have called me and even tell me I told them it was ok but I never received a phone call. The employees there didn't offer an apology and seemed to be amused when I had to wait for my orders. At no time did a Manager come out to apologize for the confusion. Suffice to say I will not be back to this restaurant read more

Everything about this restaurant was perfect and remained so throughout our visit. The tables are spacious and a high level of cleanliness throughout. The presentation of each plate was superb and the the taste did not disappoint. There is a bar, but it is clearly separated from the restaurant making it family friendly. Desert was amazing. so between me and my second opinion person we both agreed chairs are comfortable and waiters most of them are nice and good sometimes the music is super loud but its nice to hear there have been a few incidents that I will not say. but overall if your looking to take ur mate or take friends I would. but for fanciness its in middle class. overall go for good time and don't expect heaven but expect something not bad that will fill ur tummy read more

I give no stars to this restaurant for their customer service and management, we where asked to leave switch our table of 10 while celebrating a birthday there , apparently our drinks and food where not sufficient for them and the 830 party had arrived and where demanding their table , we where shocked to hear the waitress tell us if we can move with our plates to another empty table which there was many Thursday evening , no we where asked to move and when the manager came around he said that table was reserved for a new party that if we can move that's when we left without cutting our cake and finishing our meal horrible horrible service it's a joke that's what we called it ...
