It's great to see a small piece of Laredo in Mcallen, Tx! I love Tacos Kissi for all its lunch items, but this time, the breakfast plates were the stars of the show! The plates are just what you would hope for and expect for the price. Tacos Kissi is not focused on aesthetics, it is all great food at low prices. I would go back again and again. Our server was great. My sister was given the sunny side up eggs instead of scrambled eggs. Despite my sister not requesting for them to be replaced, the waiter brought them over shortly after bringing out the initial meal and excused herself for the mistake. What a fun place we stumbled upon while in Rio! Authentic Mexican home cooking at its finest. The vibe the minute you walk in is noticeably relaxed and "fun" at the same time. Decent Mexican spot with an interesting mix of Mexican and "sushi". The sanchos appetizer plate is delicious and definitely enough for 2 to share. Kids plates are a little steep at $8, but comes with a lot of food and some delicious fries. The sushi rolls are decent according to my friends, but they are not typical sushi rolls you'd find everywhere. The food is delicious and I recommend getting an Agua Fresca they're HUGE and made fresh. The birria wasn't the best from here, but my tacos and my sisters torta were so good. I was really full after my meal they're generous with their sides and garnishes which I appreciate. They also gave us a variety of salsa to go with our chips. Randomly picked this spot for lunch and I'm very happy I did. I placed a to-go order and the service was great! While waiting, I was given chips and salsa/beans and ALL of the salsas were so different but very tasty. My order was packaged carefully and included everything I needed. The asada burrito was so good and HUGE! Have to shout out the frijoles charros they provided, some of the best I've tasted. Staff was super helpful. Wasn't sure what to order so went with the tostada sampler. They were all delicious. The shredded chicken was moist and delicious, not dry. Shrimp were bright citrus flavors. Actually this is for their new location in Alton People of Mission Alton and palmview, forget the new KFC and try this out. Had the tacos monterey 2/2 tripa 1/2 beff steak. Both excellent withe totopes bar with all the salsas cebollas pepinos and rabano you can eat your chips with your favorite salsa and then put your favorites on your tacos. I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary. I ordered one shrimp taco. It was steaming hot, and that alone surprised me. It was the best taco I have ever had, and I've had tacos all over Mexico. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is it was very hard to get my husband in a wheelchair inside. Their concrete ramp has chunks out of it, the door threshold was too high, and if someone hadn't helped lift the front of the chair over it all we wouldn't have gone in. read more

I have never had a bad experience here. I usually order the quesocombo which is four tacos with a lot of cheese and your choice of meat. I always get two of carne desherbada and two of fajita. It also comes with a side of charro beans and a beverage. The chips and salsa brought out while dining in are so good. They also bring out some refried beans and omg delicious. I've also tasted their famous Kissi Roll & it's too good. Their caldo de camarones is also really good. And their burritos are so so so so good. First time visiting McAllen, what should I eat? Tacos. Browsing through the listing, Tacos Kissi caught my eye. Tacos and Sushi? What?? It's the first time I've ever seen this combo, I just had to try. Parking is not plentiful, but we came for a late lunch and was able to park right up front! It is okay, the waitress explained what each taco was and she was very patient taking our order. The tortilla chips and the various salsas are excellent! The chips are deep fried to perfection, very crisp. Not your usual tortilla chip out of a bag! And they offered free refills of chips. For my drink I had the horchata, very good and in a large cup. We had both the tacos and sushi! We ordered the sampler which had a Kissi sushi roll, 3 fried shrimp, 2 bacon wrapped jalapeños, and 2 fried seafood egg rolls, not sure what was in there. Overall the sushi/seafood was ok, I mean, it's a taco place that serves sushi. The tacos were good! We ordered carne asada, pastor, ternera, and deshebranda? The latter two from what I remember were just different types of beef, cubed or shredded. I liked the pastor and carne asada the best. Hadn't been here in a very long time. Service is good We ordered a cucumber lemonade and let's just say it is deeeeliiiccciioouussss. Had the botana which maybe feel like I had to search for the fajita. The fajitas was chopped so small that it didn't seem like it had any meat. Holy guacamole, this hole in the wall spot is divine. Having just landed in McAllen, I had a true hankering for some authentic Mexican eats. So, I turn to no other than our trusty friend, Yelp, to help guide me. Overwhelmed with the plethora of choices in Rio Grande Valley, something about Tacos Kissi kept pulling me in. I think it was the tostada trio and quality photos users had snapped from their experience at Tacos Kissi. 30 minutes later, I was there. Sitting in a booth. By myself. And perfectly happy. With no hesitation I ordered the tostado trio and was given a complimentary chips and salsa sampler while I waited. The salsa was flavorful and generous and the chips...oh the chips. I'm not sure if they are made in house, but they sure had the taste and consistency of house made corn tortilla chips. Based on the deliciousness of just free starter chips, you can imagine the tostado trio was equally as delicious. Well, it was. The shredded chicken was juicy and had so much robust flavor, like it had been marinating for days and the al pastor was something you think about days later. Chips and a variety of tasty salsas but with little HEAT. The seafood tacos were yum! Not just crab meat but actual octopus! CONS : not the best quality. The enchiladas suizas were disappointing because the chicken was dry and looked like maybe it was out for a while. The sampler wasn't bad but not the healthiest or freshest option. There looked to be like some tacos with a jalapeño poppper wrapped in bacon (did not end up eating). The rolls seemed to be all deep fried so probably not your freshest or authentic sushi. I probably wouldn't come again but it was interesting. Definitely think that those who rave about the sushi don't frequent established sushi spots. We had a strong urge to eat some tripa tacos and we've eaten in the Laredo location and the food has always been great. Unfortunately this was not the case at this location. We ordered an order of tripa tacos and with the first bite we got a bite of something gritty. We thought maybe it was just our imagination until we pulled out a pebble. I LOVED THIS PLACE! My mom and I were driving by it and randomly decided to stop for lunch. We both tried their cucumber agua fresca and OMG!!! Total party in my mouth! It's a must try. We also both ordered the tostada sampler, and neither of us finished all 4 tostadas. The ceviche tostada was my favorite. The others were pretty good too, although I wasn't particularly fond of the shrimp one (but my mom liked it). The ternera tostada was my mom's favorite. The menu sounded great all around. When complained to the manager that the large seafood cocktail we ordered was missing seafood he said the large cocktail only comes with 8 ounces of seafood for a 16 ounce glass!
