I have been seeing Dr. Sabet since 2016. Not only is she the best neurologist I've ever had, she's the best doctor I've ever had - and I've had plenty! All my previous neurologists specialized in other areas and basically just did - what they could - for my migraines which was me trying to figure out what to do, suggesting it, them doing it, and going from there. Dr. Sabet was the first neuro to actually take my migraines seriously and try to figure out how to stop them rather than having me just get through them. Are they gone? No...but I'm back to fully functioning b/c of the efforts she has put into my care. And my body hasn't made that easy - finding meds that work only to have my body reject them later. Dr. Sabet has actually spoiled me by setting what is apparently an impossible bar to meet. I've recently been diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder and finding all the necessary specialists has been tough because only my primary care provider comes close to the attention to detail, professionalism, and true concern for my care that Dr. Sabet provides every single time I see her. As for her staff, I've never had a single problem with any of them. They have always been friendly, courteous, and professional. I cannot complain. I'll close with this, I trust and respect Dr. Sabet so much, that even though I have moved out of the immediate DC area, I still drive over two hours one way to see her for each visit necessary and will continue to do so until I physically just can't. I saw Dr. Sabet today for a second opinion and all I can say is WOW! Her receptionist team is wonderful at communicating appointment requirements prior to coming in and they are super friendly when you come in. The nurse that took my vitals and my history was great I really hope she decides to become a provider one day because she knew all the questions to ask. Now to Dr. Sabet the neurologist she was fantastic. I felt like she took her time to get to know me and my back story. She did a thorough head to toe exam and gave me some wonderful advice and treatment plan. She seems like a very outgoing and bubbly person. Her scribe /MA smiled the whole time. I'm delighted by the doctor and the office staff. I started seeing the doctor last year and so far everything has been excellent.

I was referred to Dr. Sabet for Botox injections for neck and shoulder pain after having already gone through two cervical spine surgeries and several cortisone injections with only some relief. Dr. Sabet seemed extremely knowledgeable and caring; however, when my insurance company refused to pay for the name-brand Botox instead of a generic, she had the assistant call me to tell me they could not do the generic injections and could not refer me to someone who was able to do the injections. I wish I could say I still had confidence in her concern for me as a patient but it seems like must be additional value to only using the name brand medication and not willing to be professional enough to refer me to another doctor. read more

Dr. Sabet was my neurologist for nearly 10 years while I experienced a painful neurologic disorder that was difficult to diagnose and treat. I saw 2 dozen doctors over the years for this illness, including neurologists at Johns Hopkins, GWU, and Inova. Dr. Sabet was by far the best neurologist. She has a great bedside manner and really shows she cares about her patients. She works hard to research and offer diagnostic testing/treatments to help you- she tries to help you more than other doctors do, in my experience. She was really essential to helping me obtain a diagnosis, understand my diagnosis and receive needed treatments to help me feel better. I wish I could continue seeing her but I relocated to another state. read more

If you have muscle weakness caused by peripheral nerve loss find another neurologist. Sabet saw me for about 16 months. She conducted EMG tests that showed significant nerve loss in my legs. Her recommendation: give up all alcohol, drink lots of water, and take a one-a-day vitamin. Because I told her I was a social drinker and during the pandemic had started having 1 or 2 beers or glasses of wine a couple of times a week while watching Jeopardy and that in past years my wife and I occasionally enjoyed a bottle of wine together she concluded that my symptoms were the result of alcohol use. When I questioned her asking if she really thought my symptoms were alcohol-related she responded sternly "it's called alcoholic neuropathy". While the things she recommended are helpful for neuropathy, she completely misdiagnosed me. I am now in the care of a competent Neurologist, receiving IVIG for my CIDP which is the cause of my symptoms, and improving greatly. My impression is that Sabet hates any use of alcohol and is not a proponent of IVIG treatment. The only time she brought up IVIG she emphasized very strongly how expensive and difficult to produce it is and quickly ruled it out for me. I will not share my opinions about why I think this is. I will say that Sabet left me feeling hopeless and depressed about my condition while failing to properly diagnose me and refer me for proper treatment. read more

Very friendly, upbeat, enthusiastic, thorough, intelligent (but she knows how to say things in a way that they are understandable by a layperson), and very knowledgeable. Started out with another neurologist, but just from the first visit it didn't feel right. Typically I'm one that just keeps seeing people, but I knew for this I needed someone I could trust. I reached out and a friend of a friend gave me Dr. Sabet's name, and I'm so thankful that I did that. The other doctor hadn't looked at my initial MRI's, he made a decision within minutes of meeting me what my problem was. Dr. Sabet looked at my MRI's with me, showed me area's that were possible problems, etc. She also discussed every option with me for treatment. One thing she did really well - there was a possibility I might have had MS. She prepared me so that I knew it was a possibility, but wasn't freaking out about it. I had another doctor a few years prior terrify me with a possible diagnosis, and it really made me appreciate her setting my expectations properly. If I had been diagnosed with MS, it would not have been a total shock that I was unprepared for, but she also didn't have me needlessly worrying. Now, one warning - even though I gave her 5 stars they are ALWAYS late. I've waited up to 1.5 hours before (though usually it's 30 - 40 minutes behind). I don't know what causes this, but be aware. That said, to me it's worth it for the peace of mind knowing that I'm being taken care of and I have a doctor I can trust with an excellent beside manner, hence the five stars. If you're facing some possibly scary medical problems, I think an extra wait every few weeks is worth it to have the right person working with you. read more

I will not recommend Haideh Sabet MD to anyone who value their life! I am a victim of her ignorance. we were a happy family till sometime ago. My husband has epilepsy which was well controlled with a small dose of medicine for more than 6 years without any side effects before we met this doctor. She changed his medicine saying that it has a potential for long term( may happen over 10 -20 years) side effects. Ever since she changed the medicine, he started having seizures. What to say, he suffered more number of seizures during a few months of her treatment time than he ever had in his life since he was diagnosed in 2006.When things became out of her control, she suggested that we can continue treatment with another specialist. When we consulted other neurologists regarding this, everybody opined that he should not have changed a well compliant drug in the absence of any side effects! If she did not know how to treat his condition, she should have referred him to another specialist or at least continue the same medicine and dose what he was taking. With repeated seizures and its complications -fall, fracture, ER trips and hospitalization how much we suffered emotionally and financially is beyond what my words can explain. Now we are getting treatment from another specialist. My husbands epilepsy is in control now, but only with three times the previous dose(Depakote 2500 mg instead of 875 mg before meeting Dr. Sabet) as his brain got several seizure triggers due to the medicine change and cannot be managed with the previous dose now .He has side effects because of the increased dose. We regret about the decision of having visited her for treatment. read more

I came to see Dr Sabet for arm pain. She was extremely thorough during her examination. And took time to explain what she was doing in laymen terms. Even though she is extremely busy, she personally worked with her staff to get me a second appointment the next day. I was very impressed with her approach. I have been an office manager for 30 years and I have never met a more incompetent office. We were referred to Dr Sabet after my husband had a TIA 2 years ago. We kept ALL our appointments. We were ALWAYS on time. We ALWAYS paid our bill the day of service. We ALWAYS followed her recommendation for testing inside her office and when she sent us out for testing. WOW you would think we were the perfect patients? NO? Over the time we saw her her front desk was always incompetent. We just put up with it. My husbands work schedule is tight so I always try to schedule multiple appointments on his day off. I received a message stating the DR would be out of the office the day my husband was scheduled. I thought shoot, oh well, and called to rescheduled. I explained to the woman on the phone my husband was going to be off the last 2 weeks of December, could we reschedule then? She kept saying No, Dr Sabet would be off the THE FIRST 2 WEEKS OF DECEMBER??? HELLO. Finally I gave up and asked if the young man that left me the voice mail could call me back. He did, with the message that Dr Sabet was now NOT taking off and we could keep our original appointment. I thought GREAT! So I called back to confirm. Only to be told our 9 am was given away to someone else and to come in at 10:30am??? I explained that was impossible because my husband had another appointment at 11am and other appointments that afternoon. The person speaking to me on the phone could have cared less. I asked them to have Dr Sabet call me. She did. I explained everything and long story short she told us to come in the same day at the same time. We did. We stood in line to check in while 3 employees were behind the desk on their cell phones. We saw Dr. Sabet. After the appointment was coming to an end she her voice started to tremble and her eyes filled up with water. She said well you have completed all my testing. I will refer you back to your primary DR. Then said if me or my husband ever needed an neurologist in the future to look elsewhere??? That my phone call stressed out her office and to find another office that could fit our needs??? Are you kidding me. So find and office with a COMPETENT STAFF? I am still in shock. Dear Dr. Sabet, I feel very sorry for you. Please read ALL your reviews, not just mine and take note your office staff IS INCOMPETENT and you are making yourself look like a fool dismissing good patients. read more

I have never met a Doctor quite like her. She is a true healer in my opinion. You feel at peace just meeting her, before you get to the root of the problem you may have.She takes into consideration the whole body. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. I did not feel rushed at all when she was examining me. If only there were more compassionate Doctors like her out there. I would strongly not recommend Haideh Sabet and regret the day I walked into her hole in the wall office and had to deal with her unpleasant staff. She ordered unnecessary diagnostic tests and during our initial meeting bragged about how wonderful she is and how doctors from prominent hospitals love her, which of course had nothing to do with my care. Then when the tests she ordered caused me to have a severe physical reaction that left me disabled and in extreme pain for close to a year, she discontinued her services, and referred me to another doctor. I was an invalid for almost a year because of this woman, was in the ER several times and hospital afterwards, and almost lost everything, and quite possibly my life. And once she saw the damage she caused, her bedside manner changed drastically from her phony "I care so much about all of my patients" to "I don't want to have anything to do with you now." And of course she quickly tried to cover/protect herself. I sincerely regret not having filed a malpractice lawsuit against this woman since I feel her actions were egregious. Several doctors I saw afterwards clearly said they would have never ordered these tests, they were totally unnecessary, and not worth the risk. This was by far the worst experience I ever had with a medical personnel. What my family and I experienced emotionally and the pain I encountered physically because of this woman is indescribable. read more

I cannot support a medical office that immediately refers a charge for a missed appointment ( fee of $25) to a bill collection service. Can you imagine: you miss an appointment, get billed $25 in the mail, and Dr. Sabet's office is not able or willing to handle or negotiate the situation. They refer you to the medical billing service or whatever they call it. Is that customer service? Why can't they "forgive" the fee for a first time offense, especially if the missed appointment wasn't deliberate. In my case, I honestly didn't know that I had an appointment, and to this day, am not 100% sure it wasn't a mistake on the office's part. Regardless, I sent in the $25.00, but they CERTAINLY lost all future business from me. NOT a good business model, if it's your hope to keep customers over time. read more

I've gone to see Dr. Sabet 3-4 times in the last two years. I have Neuroma (2). It began when the front part of my right foot beginning with toes became numb. My first two visits to Dr. Sabet I was referred for a MRI and a CT Scan, she recommended physical therapy in case their was a nerve that was entangled and somehow needed to be loosened. I did 2-3 months of physical therapy and figured I could live with this ailment. And stopped my neurologist appointments. About 4 months ago I noticed the numbness extended to the front part of my foot and so I returned to Dr. Sabet and she recommended Orthopedics consul who sent me for a right foot MRI and further test. I went to 2 Ortho visits and the doctor sent me to Mt. Vernon Hospital for a Diagnostic Ultrasound of my right foot. I got the results from the hospital the same day and it turns out that I have neuroma. I attribute this diagnosis in part to Dr. H. Sabet because when she could not tell me what was wrong, she sent me to an Orthopedic Doctor (Dr. Pace) who was successful in telling me what was wrong. I would recommend anyone to Dr. H. Sabet, she is an excellent communicator, thorough, and knew when she needed to recommend another doctor for a second opinion. She was kind, courteous and I would not hesitate in returning if I needed to. Her staff was excellent and professional. read more
