My dad has been going here for the past year for his hair cuts once a month and has really been happy with the outcome. In addition to his hair cut she trims his eyebrows which I thought was a lovely touch. Makes my dad, who is a business man, more refined. The last time my father and I went, she told us some funny stories about Cinco de Mayo from this year. The humor had the whole place laughing. A really laid back environment in the spanish vibe for sure! A little culture never hurt :) Taco King is right beside the entrance of Sonia's. WORST salon experience of life. I showed her many photos of what I wanted. And what my 10 year old…read moredaughter wanted. She said no problem. When we got there her salon was cluttered and messy. In the back of my mind I knew we should've walked out then. But I thought maybe she's better at hair than keeping her salon tidy. Big mistake. I had long straight, medium dark brown hair to the middle of my back. My daughter already had long layers in the front and she just needed a trim. Sonia looked at the photos of the layers I wanted then proceeded to chop my hair relatively one length, much shorter than I wanted, and really uneven. She then bleached it blonde about 3 inches from the top and toned it to a mousy brown that almost looked green at the time. I had shown her pictures of high and low lights that were almost auburn that I wanted to give my hair some demention. She didn't do any of that. I wanted my hair to be cut to just below my collar bone with lots of blended layers. She lobbed it off, one length, with tiny point cutting right below my shoulder. I told her it looked green and she said the toner will wash out to blonde, which isn't what I wanted in the first place. While my hair was processing she cut my daughters hair and it has shelves, not the blended layered trim we asked for and showed her pictures of. She took off way too much on both of us as well. It basically looks like my daughter is growing out an old mullet. My poor daughter is too scared to go to another salon to get it fixed. I know it's just hair and it will grow back but it's embarrassing to walk around looking like this while it does, and this is her job. I shouldn't have paid for what she did, but I did because I don't enjoy confrontation. We paid $314 to look like a toddler went wild on our hair with scissors and bleach. Now its going to cost another $300 to get it fixed elsewhere. DO NOT LET SONIA RUIN YOUR HAIR TOO.

But she deserves this rave review. Tiffany works at the same salon as my previous long time stylist, who recently finished nursing school and is no longer currently doing hair. You know a stylist is good when YOUR stylist goes to them for their hair, so I switched over to Tiffany at her recommendation. My hair has looked a lot of ways over the last 40 years of my life, and I'm no stranger to all manner of color applications. But today (my second appointment) Tiffany gave me the best looking hair of my life. Instagram hair. I am turning heads while wearing sweats at the airport hair (I'm literally at the airport right now). I'm a grungy Arctic wildlife biologist so I take quite a bit of effort to polish up. So take my advice and go see her. I'll be mad that this review has made it difficult for me to get an appointment, but you will be very, very happy.
