It was wonky, and I'd been given a random short layer on only one side. She listened to what I wanted, seeing beyond the bad cut and cleaned it up beautifully...keeping her eye on what it could be once things grew out. As a guy, I do frequent trims to maintain the same length, for business reasons. Although these stylists are skilled, they do not have a receptionist and it's often difficult to reach them, if/when I happen to be in PH for a meeting, etc. (The other women rent stations from Nicole, the owner.) BTW, Nicole indicated repeatedly they could accommodate me on short notice, mid-day, if I had time in my schedule and was in the area. Without a scheduler / receptionist, this didn't work. If I have extra time between seeing clients, I'd occasionally have a shampoo. Learned that was an unpleasant ordeal. This salon's shampoo area is adjacent to a vet's back office area, including the animals' overnight facilities. Ugh ... smelly. I tried for months to work with them (yes, they're good stylists) but gave up, given the constant voicemail tag. The odor didn't help. read more

Nicole is not only an amazing stylist, but during these scary times with COVID, she has followed all health guidelines to assure client safety. I highly recommend Jennifer Farrell for highlights and styling (cut)! I started going to her at SalonAmour and followed her to her new location about a year or so ago. I've been going to top salons when I lived in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles and she could work at any of the places I used to go. Jenn Phaxayavong is absolutely the best for both cut and color! She is actually a color genius. She can take a description or picture and make it reality. The coloring products they use at Inspired are high quality, make my hair shiny and beautiful and it lasts for longer than most hair color products. I am the happiest woman in Contra Costa at this moment!!! After losing my stylist for the past 15 yrs, I ventured forth thinking it would be no big deal to find another stylist.......was I ever wrong! After 14 months of bad haircuts and color I found INSPIRED on the yelp site. I took a deep breath, made the appointment and saw Nicole, the owner. To say I love what she did with my hair is an understatement. I hadn't had any hair care for the past 2 1/2 months......so, my thin, straggly hair was looking it's worst. The color was VERY faded, lots and lots of gray, dry, droopy and I looked downright dowdy. Nicole cut my hair into a newer, more manageable style that I absolutely know I can do myself at home; added high/low lights and I think she somehow magically shaved a few years off my face :-)).......I watched the other two stylists, Mendy and Jennifer perform their magic on their clients and I can absolutely, positively tell you that all 3 women are very self-assured and created beautiful hair for all 3 of their clients. . I was so happy with my new look, I immediatelyI scheduled monthly appts through the end of summer. The downside for anyone looking to schedule with Nicole is that she is not taking new clients at the moment and will be going on maternity leave in October.
