Unfortunately, my most recent appointment on June 13, 2025, with Shaniqua was so upsetting and unprofessional that I felt compelled to leave this review. From the moment I walked in, something was off. The owner wasn't present, the music was blasting, and the conversations among the stylists were bizarre, inappropriate, and downright uncomfortable -- especially for a group of women of a certain age who should know better. As a woman of color, when we choose cultured salons, we do so for comfort, safety, and the sense of community -- and none of that was present this day. My service was rushed and painful. The loc takedown was done carelessly, resulting in so much hair loss it made me cry. My hair wasn't properly detangled or deep conditioned, and the blow dry was incomplete. What made it worse was the stylist's constant complaints about how tired she was and how she didn't want to be there the next day. If you're exhausted and mentally checked out, why take the appointment or why not reschedule or pass it to another stylist within the salon? The biggest disappointment is that I called the salon twice, leaving detailed voicemails for the owner explaining my experience -- and I have yet to receive a single call back. That lack of acknowledgment or concern for a loyal client's experience hurts more than paying for a service that wasn't delivered. It makes it clear that customer care and professional standards aren't a priority here. I sincerely hope this review reaches the owner and staff, and that moving forward policies and training are put in place to protect clients from experiences like mine. No one should pay for poor service and leave a salon feeling worse than when they arrived. Do better, House of Beauty.
