I started with cut @ root color. Last visit, we added highlights to the session. Derrick asked me SO many questions about what I like, what I hoped to get, concerns, maintenance & anything that would help him understand what I'd be happiest with! This review is specifically for my experience with Oleksii. I had a terrible experience. I reccommend anyone to not have any service done by him unless you want to leave with a headache and a painful scalp. He is extremely rough as though he's fighting for the WWF or part of MMA. My goodness, does he think this is a runway and must complete a hairstyle within 10 minutes? My hair is extremely thin and was so afraid he'd pull my hair out and knock me in my eye with the brush. I was very very uncomfortable and upset about the entire experience. A few things I noticed that I wasn't too happy about and I'm not even a stylist. Rinsing hair with cold water is common. It's humid outside. He rinsed my hair even after conditioning with hot water. He only shampood once and conditioned once. Was very rough with the entire wash. He was very rough with combing my hair as well. While blow drying, my hair kept smacking me in my eyes. I don't understand why he was so rough and in a rush? I'm even more upset with Griselda who first spoke to me when I walked in and disappeared to sit down and handed me over to Oleksii without giving me the heads up. My entire review feels like it's all over the place just like this experience. One thing I definitely did not appreciate is his facial reaction when he asked when was the last time I washed my hair. I felt judged. After I paid, a manager came over to inform me that I will be refunded for a charge that I wasn't supposed to be charged for. So now... Aside from having poot customer service skills, hes also sneaky with the way he's charging customers (at least me). I took my kid in for a haircut the other day as they have had very good luck at this location. While they had their hair done I spent some time checking out the products they had for sale. The Superman and flash hairbrush really caught my eye. The young woman that did their hair has taken care of them before thankfully and has some knowledge of how their hair reacts. When they were done it looked really nice. I suppose if I had hair I'd consider having it done here. I can say that this location was extremely busy and it looked like they were only handling appointments. I think every chair in the place was filled. read more

The worst hair experience of my entire life. The stylists here are never the same and usually I don't have issues. I come twice a year for the same haircut each time, which is one length slightly below shoulder length so I can put in a ponytail. It took Elizabeth less than 5 minutes to cut my hair, and when it dried it was shorter in the front than in the back and completely uneven. I went back to have her fix it and she had the audacity to tell me that that's the way the cut is supposed to be and that the front dries shorter than the back. She kept calling me "sweetie" trying to explain things to me like I'm stupid. I know how hair is supposed to dry and the cut was completely uneven. Even throughout the haircut when she was fixing it she kept trying to defend how she was right and she's only fixing it because I'm unhappy. I had her dry my hair to make sure it looked even before I left but I am extremely unhappy with my hair. It is two inches shorter than I wanted. We had agreed on the length before I had it cut and she still cut it shorter. All I wanted was a cleaned up hair cut before my cruise and I left going from mid length hair to some sort of choppy bob. Do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Just spend the extra money and go to a nicer salon and not some chop shop. read more

She was wonderful, had great conversation with her although the following day after styling my own hair, I did notice that the layering needed a little bit more layering and I immediately called her and she was kind enough to get me immediately to fix what I needed to make it better. I've been to this Hair Cuttery many times, since 2012 actually, and I'm honestly never going back again. It seems like every time I go, there's always an issue. Last week, I came in and "checked" in. So I go on my allotted time, and wouldn't you guess it, I had to wait 1 hour before I got attended to. Not only that, but I didn't even get noticed until 20 minutes after I had come through the store. And when someone did offer to attend me, she just left and clocked out, and made me wait another 10 minutes.This is nothing new for this Hair Cuttery, as I've been dealing with this for the better part of 2 years now. Not only that, but it most definitely shouldn't have taken this long, considering there were other hair stylists with nothing to do and lounging about. The Supervisor, was literally chatting up with her fellow co-workers leaving me and some other guest waiting. Another thing was how blatant their lying has been. A new guest had come in and spoke with one of the stylists to see how long it would be to be attended, and the women said 2 hours. With no one on queue, with barely anyone here, said 2 hours. But then another lady came from the back (she must've been on break) and told him 30 minutes. These type of inconsistencies are getting ridiculous and quite frankly, disrespectful. When I did get my haircut, the lady would.not.stop.pushing.my.shoulders. It was very ridiculous and she was incredibly pushy. Telling me to sit straight up, even though I was as straight as my back would allow. She kept moving my head, sometimes making it into a jerking motion, which I also did not appreciate, and she never wiped ANY HAIR from my face. I guess she could tell that I was annoyed because she never gave me her card with her name, otherwise, it would be going straight into this review. So if anyone is in ChampionsGate trying to get a haircut, please stay clear of this place. You're better off going somewhere else, before you get disrespected at this salon. read more

On a whim, decided to get my hair cut with stylist Joanny - - she was not only very nice, but very good at what she does. My hair hadn't been cut in at least two years (professionally) and for some reason t I simply trusted her to do what she could to make it look nice and I could not be more pleased. She cut a decent amount off, but still left me with plenty of hair - - - it's such a fun cut and very easy to style, I'll be returning back to her most definitely !!!! read more

My only issue at this location is to a specific stylist Derek is extremely SEXIST. And for over 15min he talked loudly about how men are better than women. Men and women aren't equal so don't ever treat him as an equal to a woman. Women should serve her husband and know her place. And so on and so on. It was horrific. I almost walked out. The only reason i stayed is because the woman cutting my hair was very pleasant. That being said i don't know if i will ever go back there simply because of Derek. I went in looking to get a cheap wash and chop for a hair donation and ended up paying $40! I asked for the $18 wash and cut, then switched to the $28 wash, protein treatment, cut, and dry. Lady charged me an extra $7 for an additional protein treatment I NEVER ASKED FOR. I was trying to have a nice, budgeted honeymoon out of Alaska, and she was stealing money from me. After the extra treatment is over, she finally tells me my new total of $35, and when she's done with my hair, she's done a complete hack job! Don't go here. They give you extra hair treatments before asking you and then demand you pay for it and then do a terrible job even cutting your hair. Had to go to a local Alaskan hair cut place to finally get my hair done right a month later. TL;DR: They'll steal your money and make it look like a 3 year old with scissors got a hold of your hair. Go to JB Haircutters here in Anchorage and ask for Chong because she's incredible! read more
