Bleach scares me to death and the fact that my hair is thinning made me a nervous wreck. I chose Brooke because of her expertise in blonde hair. From the consultation to the end of my actual appointment I am thrilled that I chose her. She made me at ease from minute one. She actually listened to my fears and explained in great detail what she could do for me and my hair. The consultation was over 30 minutes! Who does this? She felt my hair, checking for damage and it's texture. She even did a strand test! I was so impressed! I booked immediately. The day of the appointment i was sweating buckets. I did give her a chance to try to fix what she did, and I even tipped her well in anticipation of writing this review, because I felt guilty but something needs to be said because I do not want anyone else to feel this way. She attempted to give me bangs and messed them up so badly that I cried myself to sleep. She claimed I had a cow lick (I don't) .... Then she claimed my hair "jumped" because it was heavy.... I have gotten bangs many times before and this has never happened. When I showed my family and friends their immediate response was did I cut them myself - then when I said no they said my stylist should go back to school.... I agree. She even did things I know to be very wrong .... Like attempting to cut them after she curled them I hate to be mean or speak negatively but I do not want this to happen to anyone else. It's also illegal. According to the price list on the website, there's a $20.00 difference between a Signature cut with classic blowout (which is our usual service) and a Signature cut with a deluxe blowout. We are now being charged more for the deluxe because of the time it takes to blow dry tangled hair. I asked the stylist directly if they are charging more for "ethnic" hair, and she said yes. I requested to speak with the manager, and the following day, the district manager called me. After telling her about my experience, I was very disappointed that the policy for the price increase will not change. Just a heads up. If your hair does not come out of your head straight, The Hair Cuttery will charge you more.
