We made 9 AM appointments. We're running 10 minutes late and called to notify them and they said that was fine. Drove 35 minutes to get there in traffic. Once we got there, they said there was nobody there to cut our hair; that there was a problem with their new system and people were being booked where there were no slots available. would have at least been nice if they would have said they couldn't honor our appointment when we called to say we were running late. FYI, it was an actual person at their store that booked our appointments. Their sign out front says walk-ins welcome... Yet even with an appointment they couldn't get us in. read more

I'm very disappointed in the customer service received at this Hair Cuttery. I booked an appt online and called the salon to confirm it and they said they did not see it and made an appt for 4:30 PM instead. I arrived 10-15 minutes early checked in and waited for a half hour and was ignored , customers were walking in and were serviced. At no point was I addressed nor an explanation provided as to the delay. Clearly the salon had no interest in my business. I left the store and do not plan to return to this Hair cuttery. My elderly friend Margie wanted to get a permanent so I googled local salons that did that service and found Hair Cuttery. I got her an appointment for the very next day. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and given a seat right away. Margie explained what she wanted and she was given a perm by the Master Stylist. Each step of the procedure was explained and Margie was given suggestions for keeping her perm looking great. We even made a six week follow up appointment for a trim while there. Today I went in for a wash and cut. I was asked by the 1st associate about doing a blow out and I declined. After getting my hair cut I was asked by Tammy if she could blow dry my hair a little to see the haircut better. She never said it was a blow out and I sneaked that charge at the end. When I contacted her she said no one was available to a refund today and come back tomorrow. I don't know if she thought she charged me less I would tip less but that's not how I do tipping. I would have given her a bigger tip had she charged me for what I asked for which was a wash and cut. So disappointed in society and people's work ethics. read more

Very unhappy with the haircut I had last week. I asked for a certain length and the person cutting my hair did what they wanted to do rather than what I had asked. They also were making VERY inappropriate jokes the entire time. As I brush my hair I keep having to cut it again myself as it is very uneven. For a $35 haircut this is very upsetting. . I called before my appt to gain some knowledge on what would happen and how much I would be paying for a balayage. I was told the most id be paying is the prices on their site which would come out to 105 because it's a partial dye. I asked if I could get an appt in that day and the woman said she could put me in at 6:15. Mind you the salon closes at 9. I walk in at 6:06 waited around for my appt, got in the chair. In the middle of having bleach onto my hair. The stylist comes to talk to me abt pricing and I'm absolutely confused and explain to her that I was told one thing and now she's telling me another. Well she tells me I have to pay for toner or else I'm leaving there with orange hair. And she felt extremely bad about the situation. She was so kind Erica is her name! The manager also tells the stylist to basically allow me to leave the salon with a completely butchered hair color because their receptionist gave out wrong info as if I'm at fault for that so I should come out of a bunch of money and orange bleached hair. Erica gets me a deal where I'd be paying 125$ so I could get the toner in my hair I so desperately needed. That manager was extremely unprofessional could be heard from the back saying things such as "well she's just not gonna have toned hair. Just don't tone her hair, she'll pay for what she got done" I came in for a balayage I didn't come in for orange hair, so rude and unprofessional that woman is. Disgusting. Well I walked out with half orange hair and random strips of absolute blonde pieces. Was asked to come back in for another session of toner the next day as they were closing it was 9:00 pm. I understand sometimes these things happen. I imagine I needed the bleach to be left on my hair longer but it was close to closing time. Went to another salon the next morning and was told I would need another lightning session and another session of toner and I'm looking at spending another 200$ on top of the 145$ I already spent. The woman doing my hair was very sweet. But, wow was the place unprofessional. Do not recommend this place. Update!!! Went back the next day to get my hair bleached another session and toner and walked out with brown hair somehow!? Wasn't told my hair was gonna be brown. read more

Worst experience ever. My son and I spent hours looking at pictures deciding what haircut he wanted after 1yr and 8 months of letting it grow, only cutting the ends and front so that he could see. When we arrived i showed the pictures to the lady ( I don't remember her name, long white hair). She had cut his hair 2 times before. The first time she did great, second time my son looked like Dora the explorer, and this was the third time. I took him again because everyone has a bad day and she had done great before. I explained what she did last time that we didn't like. My sons haircut is horrible. As she was cutting the front I'm saying omg and she laughed. When she turned the chair I was like I don't like it, it has nothing to do with the picture I showed you. Instead of taking the feedback And offer to fix it she kept defending what she did. She said: it's what you asked for, it's in layers and i took the hair from his eyes. I definitely won't be taking my son there again and I wouldn't recommend this place. The lady that cut my hair was very nice but did not do a good job. My cut is very uneven and I will likely have to go somewhere to have it fixed. I also did not like that my haircut was interrupted at least 5 times when the phone rang or someone walked in to be checked in. There should be a receptionist for that. I would recommend this place if you didn't have anything to do all day. I have been here twice but only had it cut once. I walked in and they said it would be 25 minutes so I said ok that's fine I will wait. 45 minutes later I had to leave because I went in my lunch break. Sad that at ages 14 and 12, my sons had to experience their first seeds of racism today. My wife took them to one of the Hair Cuttery Salons at this location on StateRoad 54 in Odessa/Trinity. One of the hair salon employees had the nerve to whisper to the lady cutting one of my sons hair about my other son's hair: "I don't know why people of ethnicity come in here and think we can do their hair." 2017 people; and this is why I roll my eyes when people think minorities exaggerate racism. And yes, my wife cooked off on that lady when she found out. The District manager eventually refunded us our money thankfully. my hair stylist tonight was wonderful. he was so sweet, honest, and really a great guy and did my hair well. but i am BEYOND disappointed. i wanted blonde. a blonde balayage. he advised that my hair probably wouldn't pull so light and he wanted to keep the integrity of my hair. which was fine. i understand. we decided he would give me a blunt bob, with a couple of lighter highlights. and honestly it's nice. beautiful even. BUT. it's not what i wanted and i paid a ridiculous amount for something that wasn't even dramatic. i paid $178 for HIGHLIGHTS. maybe it's because my hair is thick, who knows. but i was shook when he read me the price and i looked on the website and that's not at all what i saw. he never once discussed with me the price. he was so sweet and genuine, but i was FLOORED when i saw the price. i'm really sad because i loved him as a stylist. but the prices are so outrageous it's unreal. read more

If I could leave less than a one, I would. I worked at this location for two years and had many very happy clients. Unfortunately the original company mismanaged their funds, so that when we were all sent home indefinitely, because of Covid-19, they quietly filed for Chapter 11. Not only that, but they DID NOT pay their associates their last paycheck, for months! When they finally did, court ordered, they didn't pay what they were supposed to. Meanwhile, we were all waiting on tenterhooks to know if they'd even reopen. They were bought out by Tactic LLC. I recieved a email saying I had a job at the same salon. However, the, for lack of better term, "manager" Pam has decided that she's only bringing back who SHE wants, not the company who pays us. She has purposely left myself and a few others out if the loop and not only that, but asked other stylists from other locations to come in, in our place. We have NOT heard anything, other than the email. When we didn't receive our last paycheck, we're rightfully upset. Pam said don't be upset, just relax, it'll work out. Did she pay for my kids to have food? The company? NO... Thank God that I have amazing clients, that have reached out during the scariest, most difficult times of our lives... I was disappointed. Went yesterday for a wash and blow. Didn't feel the wash was very good. Very quick and then the blow was not finished. My hair looked damp even after i was told it was finished and the hair dressed response was "ok - i will dry it more" . On top of that I was charged $35 instead of 20. The lady just said 20 is just when they dry the hair but no brush is used. Really mediocre job and overpriced. I won't be coming back and I don't recommend it to anyone. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! Hair Cuttery... more like hair butchery! I came in full of excitement ready for a new look-- shake it up. It was a treat yourself kind of day, I was just looking for something fresh and cute! I left with what is the worst haircut of my life. Borderline traumatized. The kind of haircut that basically will take a year to grow out and I'm fairly sure I will swear off getting my hair cut by "professionals" ever again. I don't write reviews, but I felt it necessary that no one make the same mistake I did! I cried myself to sleep, bought a dozen cute hats on Amazon (because the layers I have in my hair are so blunt and short I can't even put them in a ponytail), and then wrote this review to give myself some peace of mind. I have a freaking mullet. It's not cute, flattering, easy to style, and my bottom "layer" is so disconnected and thin that I look like a cross between Joe Dirt and a Pasco county pill popper. THESE LAYERS ARE NOT CONNECTED IN ANY WAY!What I think is supposed to be "face framing" pieces on the size of my face are chunks of hair clipped to JUST UNDER MY EYE! I can't even tuck them behind my ears! I think the sad part is I was just looking for something nice to boost my confidence and what I got was soul crushing. Do yourself a favor, avoid this place like the plague! This was the absolute worst thing I could have done RIGHT BEFORE MY HONEYMOON!
