It would be nice if I was told the proper amount from the beginning since I was on a budget. Spent nearly 6 hours and left with wet hair. It wasn't the color I wanted, so I asked for a partial refund. (I showed 2+ photos before the coloration process). Was told that I misheard the pricing and she would never do such thing. Never, ever here. I forgot the name of the stylist. She was someone in 40's, medium length blonde, smoker (I could smell her while she was cutting my hair). She was extremely unprofessional especially when I told her that my side burn was uneven. I asked my friend to confirm this so that I wasn't looking crazy. She literally said that I can't do anything about your hairline. Yes, the hairline may be uneven, but the hair length should be evenly cut. One shouldn't be longer than the other. I didn't ask for money back, although my friend said that I should. If you want to preserve your hair, don't bother coming here. read more

Went to the Hair Cuttery yesterday with my husband and son. They did a perfectly fine job on the hair cuts, excellent job waxing my eyebrows. The stylists are great, but I've noticed that at Hair Cutterys in general, they constantly try to sell you products. I don't blame the stylists because they all do it, so I assume they are required to do so. It become very uncomfortable when I'm trying to relax and get my hair cut and someone is always trying to sell me things. It's to the point where they contradict previous stylists who have recommended one product to me, which I purchased, and tell me that the product I already paid a good amount of money for isn't right for my hair. I don't trust any of their recommendations because even when I do take their suggestions (which I will NOT do again), they keep trying to sell. read more

My hair cut is so basic I didn't even think it could be screwed up, but what irritated me the most was a more senior stylist staring at me while I paid and not saying a thing. I get home and realized she left a centimeter width of hair between where she squared off the bottom of my hair and my back. Seriously? Was this some kind of joke? Seriously, men have no business spending more than $15 on a haircut---unless, I guess, you have some big, metro doo that requires superspecial attention. For thirty years, my father went to an expensive barber down by the art museum, and eventually he started bringing me along, too. Forty bones was what the guy charged. Forty bones. All for the conversation, really. One day, I convinced my father to take me to a Hair Cuttery instead---I didn't have the time for the big barber shop ordeal, with the schmoozing and all---so we went, and he got trimmed up as well. EXACTLY THE SAME as the other guy. No difference. None. Nada. And it came to about $15 with tip. Some people have "favorites" in this HC location; I never got into that. I just role up and say, "Whoever. As soon as possible." And no matter who trims be up---"number three clipper on the sides, a little trim up top"---they never get it wrong. read more

My haircut is pretty simple, clippers on the side, trim on top and any good can pretty much handle that. Needing a haircut for myself and my son (and not wanting to spend a lot of $), I walked into this hair cuttery thinking "eh, if it's horrible, it'll grow back" (yes, my expectations were high). We lucked out and got Trish, a senior stylist who is normally appt only (most of the stylists just do walk ins). She was amazing. Friendly, professional, fast, LISTENED TO WHAT I ASKED FOR (huh now? There are stylists who do that, you ask), and gave both of us the best haircuts we've ever had. Now I am no stranger to high end salons (and their pricing). These cuts were on par or better, and I paid for BOTH of us 1/3 of what I normally pay just for myself. Going back in a month for color. My son (5 yr) asked if we could go back today for another cut. I wen to hair cuttery at Cherry Hill NJ, and must say that I had the worst haircut of my life. I dont remember her name. But I could recognise her, if I saw her. I siad I wanted a pixie. And she cut my hair so short, that I look like a 8 year old boy! I kept telling her that the hair cut appears to be too short and not go any shorter. I was greeted by Leandra who was friendly and courteous, and she spent some time with me going over my coloring options for my very dark hair. She helped me decide on some pretty partial highlights which really gave my hair some dimension instead of the flat dark look I've had for years. I stopped in this location on Oregon Ave the other day to get a trim. I have long hair to almost the middle of my back with long layers. I expressed that I just wanted a trim, wanted to keep my layers, needed to thin it a bit, and am trying to grow it super long. My totally inexperienced stylist cut off about 4 inches. My hair now rests just below my shoulders. She did not seem confident, turned my chair away from the mirror the entire cut, and butchered my hair. It wasn't even, my layers were gone, and it looked ridiculous even in a ponytail. I left, I had to go to work. What Is disturbing is that she didn't ask anyone for help. And all the other stylist should have realized there was an issue with her tactics, especially since it wasn't very busy and they seemed to have a bunch of down time. The only positive thing, was my stylist seemed like a sweet girl. I'm giving this review one star for the store manager. I called the next day and she fixed my cut. She straighten the length and added layers. Also, she gave me a protein wash to stimulate growth. It will probably take 8 months to get my hair back to the length it was. I'm just truly appalled someone let this girl cut hair without any supervision. But thank you to the manager for fixing the cut! read more

Would give it negative stars if i could. Stopped in on a Sunday morning because my stylist was scheduled to be there but she wasn't. I really needed a trim & the person i got should not be cutting hair. I sat in the chair for over 1 hour (my bad-that should've been a clue) & BRIANNA NEVER even cut the sides of my hair. Just wanted a trim & layers. All she did was cut the back of my head. After it grew for 5 months I went back to my normal stylist (Kaitlyn) & got a good trim & got some layers back. Went back about 4 months later & Kaitlyn had left so I got stuck with BRIANNA again! did not realize it was her again or else i would have walked out. Didn't seem too bad at first but again she had trouble understanding what layers meant. She even tried to argue with me because she just couldn't understand the concept of layering. Another stylist thankfully stepped in and finished the cut. BRIANNA HAD NO CLUE. The other stylist was literally showing her what she was doing & made me feel like i was being used as a tutorial. The fact that she was still employed there & doing the SAME BAD CUT just showed me what Hair Cuttery is all about. Unless you ask for a master stylist & pay more you get someone who is not qualified. Shame on me - got me 2 times. There will not be a 3rd time. WILL NOT RETURN. read more

I come to this location at least once every 3 months. I usually go to Kristina who is awesome! She always cuts my hair just the way I like it and is extremely personable. Everyone is always so friendly and nice. It is close to home and I don't have to drive around for hours looking for a parking spot unlike the majority of salons up center city.
