After going to this salon for several years I developed a terrible nail infection after a technician cut my cuticle too deeply. This after I made it clear that my cuticles were only to be lightly trimmed. After several rounds of antibiotics and several doctor's visits, it healed but with severe damage to the nail. I stopped patronizing them but when the owner called to ask why I hadn't returned, I told her why and sent a picture of the damaged nail. At first they tried to deny it but I showed pictures with visit dates that corresponded with my nail. Their solution? One free manicure. That was insulting and I won't be back. read more

My mother was in town visiting, and we wanted to indulge in a little mani/pedi action. On a whim, I called this salon on a Thursday morning for something later that afternoon. They were able to accommodate and off we went. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our scheduled time and were greeted with smiles. We were instructed to select polish and told that upon finishing another mother/daughter duo, we could scoot into their pedi stations. This group was moved to the drying station upon service completion, the stations were cleaned, and our services began. The setting was incredibly relaxing, the polish was quality, the prices were fair (a regular mani/pedi ran us about $60ish each) and the employees were pleasant without being overbearing. Best of all, my manicure looks amazing 4-5 days later. I've done dishes, painted, and even plastered a chunk of a wall and my nails still look incredible. I had gone to this nail salon a few times in the past, and enjoyed the cleanliness, friendliness, and service . This time, things were a bit run down, and service was pretty much minimal. I think if someone comes in for a manicure, they are looking for something more than what they can do at home, a treat. This was a bit underwhelming and sort of phoned-in. The towels were unraveled at the edges, the technical aspects were not done with any care and I sort of felt like since it was 'just a manicure' there was no love. This was my first time back after 15 months of me trying to do my own mani-pedis. I booked in advance and came a little early to check out the premises. I was happy to see all the safety measures - they took my temperature, sprayed my hands with alcohol, and had barriers/screens between me and Dary and the other clients (who were all on the opposite side of the salon so we were never closer than 20 feet.) My pedicure and manicure were so careful, so delightful... I really relaxed. And I walked out with what feel like new hands and feet. The staff are all kind and professional, including the owner who is always willing to help out with picking colors or answering any questions. Pedicure seats have a great massage function (so great I saw a patron fall asleep during service and the staff was so careful not to wake her as they moved onto her nails while she was still in the seat!). I left my previous nail salon after being a faithful client for 4+ years and had a horrible time finding a nail salon that can be my go-to. Then came Naturale Salon and Dary. My nails were abused and I'm sure I got an infection from a dip powder that was used on me at a prior salon, and quite frankly, the previous appointment almost left me in tears to where I was about to give up and make a hike to New Jersey to get it done but when I called one Friday, Dary was on the line and squeezed me into her schedule the same day and it was a relief. Dary was so gentle, knowing what my nails went through, sensing how sensitive my nails were, and asking me whether it was too painful or the pressure she was applying to get rid of my old gel polish was too much and it was so refreshing to finally relax -- Dary told me how to take care of my nails and though it'll be a bit for it to heal again, I walked out with a fabulous manicure and not in tears. Two weeks later, my gel still isn't peeling off and after seeing her for a last-minute gel pedicure a previous week, I knew I made the right choice in having Dary as my go-to nail technician and choosing this salon. This place is pretty busy from what I've noticed, I've tried to get an appointment once or twice but was unable to because it was simply booked completely. I got a gel manicure done with a woman named May and she was so wonderful and detail oriented- highly recommend her! I told her what color I was broadly looking for and she immediately brought over about 10 different shades and tried them on for me (very patient) but I like how she was able to know what I wanted from description. She was also super detail oriented and didn't rush through or miss any parts. Def recommend her! About 4 days after getting my gel manicure, one of my nails chipped slightly and the rest of the tips got slightly stained (I got a lighter color). I went back to get my one nail fixed that was chipped and the front desk manager immediately told me I can get the entire gel polish done again with another color if I'd like - and proceeded to bring me better nail colors! May quickly re did the entire set with a new color, all because they believe in 100% satisfaction. I've never been to a place that does this. Love this place and will be going back. Book in advance if you're going during the weekend. Plus they have complimentary wine, so why not go here?! read more

I still love this place. I can't believe I only started coming here 2 years ago! I've been back for the Naturale Mani/Pedi multiple times. I switched from Zoya to another brand of polish recommended that lasts longer though I'm currently blanking on the name of it. (NYC something? The bottles are like oval shaped.) Yesterday I came in with a friend which is something I rarely do - I usually like to be alone in my self-care time, but she's new to that and I wanted to make sure she experienced the best! We both got mani/pedis. We were a little late to get started for our 6pm Friday appointments but we weren't in a rush so no matter. I started out with one nail tech and then Dottie took over from there. She did an amazing job. My friend had another tech that recommended an orange color for her toes that she ended up loving but never would have chosen for herself. I've come in before and had similar recommendations - if you're ever overwhelmed picking a color, just ask! Sometimes if you don't ask, you'll get a recommendation anyway, haha. Everyone is very friendly and you can always try the color before they use it for your whole manicure or pedicure. They don't mind, and they actually encourage testing the color so you really know before you commit. I forgot to bring cash for tips but you can still tip on your card. There is a surcharge for credit card purchases to be aware of but it's small (4%) and I believe they charge extra for services now because of COVID precautions. My mani/pedi came to $75 total I believe after a $15 tip. As far as precautions: everyone wears masks and there are barriers at the manicure tables between you and the technician. For pedicures, you're far enough away from the technician that they took down those barriers (I recalled them having the pedicure barriers last July). They sanitize your hands before getting your manicure started to keep themselves safe and sanitize stations between use (as always). My only gripe is not having a clock by the drying station in the front so you know how long you've been there, but it's really not that big of a deal. :) Love this spot and highly recommend it! read more

I am ashamed of myself for waiting so long to try this place out despite it being so close to me---I'd walked by it many times and wrongly assumed that "natural" was synonymous with "ridiculously pricy." Not the case at all. While it's not the cheapest nail service you can receive in the city, it's definitely not the most expensive nail service you'll ever encounter. I opted for the express regular mani/pedi (the same as a normal mani/pedi minus the foot scrub, hand soak, and massage) and paid $38. And as the adage goes, you get what you pay for. The service here is second to none. From the moment I walked in the manager was extremely accommodating, from helping me pick out the best polish to providing unlimited complementary drinks and giving me advice on how to make my manicure last longer (tip from her: keep your nails away from water for two hours after your manicure---have that hand sanitizer ready!). As I was leaving, I scratched the polish on my thumb as I was picking up my backpack, and not only did the manager redo the polish, she also stayed 40 minutes past closing to ensure that my nails were dry. She even helped me put on my coat, shoes, and backpack to ensure that I didn't mess up my polish again. This is a natural salon (name checks out), and they have a brand of organic nail polish called Zoya. I was honestly a bit skeptical, but the polish held up pretty well for a week, which is longer than I usually get out of non-gel manis. They also don't use UV lamps for drying, so keep that in mind when scheduling, as the drying process takes a good 15-20 min longer because of that. In short, for as long as I live in Philadelphia, I'm unsure that I'll ever go to a different salon ever again. read more

I've been a client here for some time so this is really an update. My last appointment here had been in March, right before COVID locked everything down. Just like most people, I've been at home, cutting my own fingernails, filing away at my calluses and trimming my toenails so I don't get mistaken for a wolf. Color on my nails? Couldn't be bothered with the mess. I'd just learned at the end of June that the salon was opening again so I booked an appointment for my usual mani/pedi. I texted back and forth a few times to hone in on the exact day and time, and put that happy date on my calendar. Yelpers, this visit to Naturale Salon was THE best COVID experience I have had since the city started easing into whatever phase (yellow-yellow-ish-yellow-green-chartreuse-kinda green-almost green?) of living we are in now. I arrived early, announced myself and sat with my weekly New Yorker magazine. Any spot where there would be face to face or potential face to face contact had a plexiglass shield in place. There were signs indicating that masks must be worn AT ALL TIMES by staff and clients. Best of all, there was a prominent certificate stating the owner, Nancy Thach, had completed a safety and sanitation course aimed for salons by a business specializing in just this called Milady. Personnel behind the counter were masked and they stayed masked. No one was doing the 'expose the nose' masking or 'hammock mask under the chin' that I see far too often on public transit operators. In addition, there were pump bottles of hand sanitizer at the front desk, at the drying stations and at every possible place (bathroom, manicure tables and so on) where either the operator or the client might need it. When my appointment time came, I was greeted by my masked and gloved manicurist and told she had to take my temperature. This was done with a thermal thermometer and there was no need for her to get very close to me, even though we were both masked. She also told me that she had sanitized the pedicure chair earlier with Barbicide and was running water for my foot bath. The salon seems to be (I did not ask specifically) limiting the number of clients in the shop. When I was there, one other person was getting a pedicure across the shop from me and large plexiglass shields were in place both between stations and between client and operator. At the far end of the shop, also behind dividers, someone else was getting a manicure. While all these dividers served to make conversation a bit muffled, it also made me feel very safe, protected and cared for. At no time did I see any of the operators there going without their mask. Even the ladies on break, sitting in the back, remained masked. Bless them! No comment on the mani/pedi, as they were both utterly thorough, gentle and stellar as usual. I was never made to feel less than good because my toes, feet and fingernails were not in tip-top, maintenance only shape. When I was moved to the manicure station, I'd seen in advance that it had been sprayed with Barbicide which was allowed to sit, then everything, chair included, was wiped down and dried. My operator changed her gloves to do the mani. Same plexiglass shield in place and all tools had come out of the autoclave prior to my service. When I moved to the drying station, also sprayed and wiped down prior to me sitting there, I made my next appointment and tipped my operator who had been kind and patient in spite of all the additional santizing and moving shields and guards around. She apologized for not being able to hug me, so we did a sincere, affectionate elbow bump instead. The salon has raised the prices about $10 for their services due to all the additional precautions/shields they needed to employ, but I did not mind for a single second. It was a relief and a delight to once again experience the blissful pampering without worrying about safety and it was a brief return to normality with all the safety measures well in place. I LOVE this place! I had been traveling back and forth to Philly for work for a little under a year and I ended up just doing my nails here instead of back home in Chicago. Everyone that works here is so friendly and lovely. They take their time in their work whether it's removing gel polish or putting on new polish. It can take a little longer than most places but it's because they don't use acetone. My nails are pretty strong and usually a manicure lasts me over a month(!!) with no chips. When I arrived for the service I was surprised at how large the salon is! It is clean, nicely decorated, and well staffed. My nail tech was wonderful and attentive to detail. Price was average for the services offered. The standout here was my pedicure, which included a nice long massage. I found the polish selection to be vast, including many vegan nail polishes which are not offered elsewhere.
