I would not recommend this salon to anyone looking for balayage or color services. I went in with dark brown hair asking for a simple ashy brown balayage serviced by the manager, Toby. Instead, I left with orange, severely over-processed hair that looked nothing like what I requested. I returned the same day because I was extremely unhappy with the results. Rather than offering a refund, I was told the only option was to dye my hair back to the color I originally walked in with, even though my hair was now damaged from the service. To make matters worse, after spending my entire day in the salon, the manager left me with wet, damaged hair and essentially rushed me out the door. I was told I should "get used to the color" and that "nobody pays me enough for my time." That is completely unacceptable customer service, especially after a color service that went so wrong. I've had balayage done before and know what the process and results should look like. This was by far the worst color experience I've ever had. The atmosphere was also unprofessional, with management openly discussing employees and workplace issues in front of customers. I paid for a service that damaged my hair and failed to deliver anything close to what I requested. Save your money and go somewhere that values both its customers and the quality of its work. read more

This location is huge but you would not think that if you look at the outside of this store located in the Acme strip mall. There were plenty of chairs for hairdressers. My hairdresser Jae cut my sons hair. She was very friendly and talked to him the entire time making him feel very comfortable. She did a great job. The location was clean and nice. I wanted to give this place a 4 but I think I came in at a slow time and the hairdressers were just hanging around joking. I guess waiting for clients. This is fine but not on the sales floor with customers. Haircut for kids is on the expensive side $14 but if he's 9 then he is paying $18 plus tip. Ouch... Will I be back? Most likely since it's convenient and we can walk in without an appointment. read more

Never again. We took our daughter here yesterday to get a relaxer touch up. Big mistake! Her stylist sent her out WITHOUT finishing her hair. My daughter actually has burns at the nape of her neck, even though she had spots in the middle that weren't even completely relaxed. When she got home, even though she was blow dried, there were still wet spots along the back edge. No trim? No flat ironing? No style? Is this how hairdressers are trained now -- just throw some chemicals in and then put the client out the door? My daughter's dad paid $50 for his kid to get burned, wet, and walk out with her hair looking jacked. All he wanted to do was help me out and get her hair done so she'd look decent. But now I have to find someone who can fix her hair anyway, so it was a waste of money. Thinking of this place? Go elsewhere. read more

I had an appointment today at 3:15 p.m. with Delsea for my 11 year old to have his hair cut. We arrived at 3:16 p.m. and there was Delsea and one other stylists in the shop. Neither woman recognized us and we stood there for 5 minutes. Finally, Delsea asked us if we had an appointment and I said yes we did it was for 3:15 pm. She said it's after 3:15 p.m. and now I have someone in my chair. I told her we arrived at 3/16 p.m. and she said "have a seat". We left! That other client had clearly been in there before we arrived and Delsea appeared to still have a lot of work to do with that client's hair. Why make an appointment if you will have to wait?? DO NOT USE DELSEA IF YOU HAPPEN TO GO TO THAT HAIR CUTTERY AT ALL!!! Delsea is incredibly unprofessional, rude, ignorant and can't tell time. read more

I went to this place to get a perm on my short hair. Well I waited three days and washed it.. The top part and back of my hair was more wavy then Curly . I call to See if I can have to fixed but unfortunately She's decided to cut my hair To make the Curls come out more . That kind of worked for the top part but not for the back of my hair . I was turned away 15 mins before closing... employees stating that they already closed out the drawer and cleaned up their stations. I've worked retails jobs in the past and you don't turn customers away until the time posted on the door. All cleanup to be done after you lock the doors. Very poor customer service. read more

Great customer service experience with Delsie! I went in for a single color service. I walked out the first time happy with the color, but for some reason I couldn't see the color thereafter. The next day I called Delsie and she told me to come right back in. I am happy to report she fixed the problem and I now have a color that I am sooooo happy I can see under any light. I took 1 star off because there was another stylist there with her daughters. The little girl was screaming at the top of her lungs for her mother to stop. She has her other daughters there pinning the child down! The stylist had the nerve to say " I bring her here because it's easier for her to do this here rather than at home"!! I've been here about 3 times. I never go when I want a huge change--usually just a trim or to get my bangs cut. The prices are pretty cheap ($23 for shampoo, haircut, & blowdry). They have open hours every day and are open late on Friday/Saturday. I've had to wait up to 15 minutes before when they were pretty full. One of the girls who works here, Erin,is actually really, really good. She helped me out when I got sick of my super short haircut and was considering extensions. I ask for her specifically whenever I go. Overall, though, I only come here when I'm having a hair emergency and need a trim. read more

I sent my mother to have her hair professionally colored. She had short, blond/gray hair and wanted to go platinum/silver. The stylist "lifted" her hair then added a color. My mother was happy with the front of her hair but the middle and back were too blonde so the stylist decided to add another color to bring the blonde down a bit. The final result was jet black hair. My mother was beyond disappointed. But after almost six hours and all the chemicals on her natural hair she just left. Needless to say we'll be looking for another salon that actually knows the difference between silver and black. What a huge let down. read more

Do not go here! I went in a pinch because I couldn't make it to my normal styles. Well I had hair that was below my shoulders. I showed her a picture and now my hair is at MY CHIN!!! it's my own fault. I should have known better. The stylist never asked me if the length was ok just took a chomp out of my hair! I understand it's the hair cuttery but I would think they wouldn't cut off a good 6-8 inches!!!! I called the manager and she was nice and sympathetic but there isn't much she can do. It's been almost three months now and my highlights are still looking good (see pic below). Damon, my hairstylist did a great job with highlights and styling my hair. If you want good highlights for a reasonable price, go to Damon. I was impressed with the service and friendly staff too. The total price for my partial highlights with tip included was under $90. The one thing I would recommend is that you carry some sort of entertainment because this is a long process. read more

Terrible, absolutely 100% worst hair cut AND service I have ever gotten. I am a 30 year old man with a very normal hair cut. She didn't even know how to use the clippers. The fade was non existent, lines all over my head. I asked her for a trim off the top and she butchered me down to as short as it would go. Here is the kicker, after she was done destroying my head, she left all of this hair on my forehead and NO attempt to brush off. AND, she didn't even comb my hair. I had to go back to WORK! I left there looking like a dude with VERY short hair who just got out of bed. I am on my way to a REAL barber shop to get it fixed right now. $15.00???!!! I am mortified. read more

I go here every few months to get my regular trim. I normally ask Mae to cut my hair because she is absolutely awesome and knows exactly what I like, but today she wasn't in so I tried someone different. Valarie was just as awesome! She was very mindful of my requests and she did everything with care. In the end, when I saw how I looked, I was just amazed at how good of a job she did. I don't want anyone to think just because I pointed Mae and Valarie out, that the other staff is bad. Their entire staff at the Upper Darby location is great. went here to dye my hair light brown and walked out with a vibrant brown orange color on top and my same dark hair on the bottom. the lady said it turned that way since my head is "warm" but last time i checked when you dye ones hair it doesn't come out 4 shaders darker on the bottom. gave this two stars since she did offer to tone it which made it a tad better. the bottom of my hair is almost like i never dyed it and i spent nearly 70 bucks here. won't be back read more
