I have been going here for a while and had not had a cut in over a year because I had a baby. I…read moremade an appointment and had to cancel last minute because of him - and felt terrible about it but needed/wanted a cut - and then rescheduled for the next day. When I walked in, my hairdresser was visibly mad at me, had extremely negative energy, and was extremely short (and rather unprofessional) when asking what I would like to have done. I apologized multiple times but I could tell that she was still upset. As a mom of 2 kids, this was something I was really looking forward to on my birthday - and it was my self-care gift to myself. She did not ask me how I was doing but then proceeded to talk about herself and all of her own negative life experiences the entire time. I left not liking the cut and feeling energetically upset. Needless to say I will be finding a new place for all future cuts.

Although the stylist, level 3, was not fit for her level. I mentioned to her that i wanted layers, and she first said that she will cut layers after styling. That is the first i am hearing. Then she changed her mind and did layers right after the cut, very rushed. Then with styling, i had asked for outward curls, whereas she did inwards. As i pointed tthat her technique was not wrong, she mentioned that it was my hair that was a problem. My teen-age son who never paid attention to my hair today asked me what was wrong with my hair. TLDR: Pete is a fantastic barber and if you've been striking out in West Chester looking for the best barber then you should go see him. Experience: It took me less than 2 minutes to book an appointment online via their website and they had several spots available after 6PM which was very helpful. Pete has tremendous attention to detail and he's extremely experienced with clippers, fading, etc. He nailed the style that I was looking for. Pete takes his craft seriously and delivers with a very easy-going demeanor. Between Pete being great, the fast turn around, and the whole thing only costing $25 + tip, The Refinery secured my business for life. I'll also add that the location itself is nice and located across the street from the courthouse parking garage which is super convenient for people who want to park in town for free.

I am African American, and she certainly makes my hair much more managable and also makes it look fabulous! I feel like a new woman everytime I leave the salon. She uses all hi-end products that are gentle on your hair. I came in one days refusing to get another relaxer and wanted to do the big chop! She's smart and caring and of course wouldn't let me, so instead she coached me through the transition to keratin. Best thing that has happened to may hair in a long time! My hair hasn't been past my shoulders since high school and now at 26, I'm almost back to that length with only a couple months to go! She is also working with me on my bridal party.
