Always great music and conversations with the stylists, I have a local barber I see regularly these days but they weren't comfortable with a special request I had after dying my hair so I gave Old Bank a call. I went to see Dante on a Wednesday at noon and he was not only a pleasure to talk to but did a great job giving me a Mohawk which I have gotten a ton of complements on. They are very affordable and even provide straight razor shaves. Genuinely one of the best places to get a haircut in Baltimore.

I figured, "15 minutes late, I'm not upset about it." He takes another client before me and I begin to wonder if he is running behind schedule. This client gets his hair cut, his beard trimmed and a facial treatment. Romeo didn't finish with this guy until 1135. Romeo proceeded to take ANOTHER client to which I state, "Romeo I'm here for a 1030." He goes, "I get it" and he points to another barber who wasn't done with his client yet and offers, "he'll take you next." If you're going to encourage appointments, at least adhere to your time table. He didn't apologize or seek to remedy the situation. I wasted 2 hours of my valuable time between the commute and waiting. Avoid this place.

The shop is dated back to 1930 and the building is older than that. My wife personally cleans the place and although it is an older setting that could use some updating, I can vouch for the fact that it is clean! Noteworthy is the fact that there are businesses, including a laundromat next door, another business on the other side; and UMBC students/tenants upstairs. Every business has occasional issues, but I know that those issues were dealt with and John strives to keep things clean, which includes monthly visits from a contracted exterminator that the landlord provides. If you need a good quality haircut, go in and see John, Mr. Vince or the other staff and it will be well worth the wait and you won't be disappointed.
