this review is about one particular barber: Ray "sugar ray". I had my cut on the afternoon of saturday November 30th, 2024. I was a walk-in. My first impression was negative and I should have walked out right then: the barber's cape. This thing was CRUUUUSTY. Tored up a bit at the neck and with residues of many other people's DNA around the neck Then there was the issue of the roughness. It felt like I was in a boxing match, with my head being knocked around every other way with his hands and the machines he was using. About the cut itself, Mr. Ray basically did whatever he wanted. He Give me a "conservative gent's" cut, as he called it: not nearly as much as I requested him to cut. And the cherry on top: when shaving the back of my neck (with trimmer) it felt as if he was doing it with needles and knives, with the end result being huge, raised, furious RED WELTS on my neck that I still have three days later. So bad that I have been applying antibiotics to them. In conclusion, if what you enjoy is a dirty, incredibly overpriced, Rough, underwhelming, and potentially infectious haircut, then Sugar Ray (and this place) is your man. read more

Disappointed and Angry. Came in with hair mid-back length (after being stretched) and left with it unable to touch my neck! I chose this place because it had good reviews and I trusted them to know how to deal with a sisters natural/afro hair. If they couldn't do the job they could have sent me to the Dominican salon next to them. I have been natural for the past 10 years and have pretty long afro hair. I asked the barber to pick my hair out and cut 1 inch off all around because the hair was dead. He decided to take off more than half the length of my hair (about 7 inches). It just didn't make sense and the barber did not know how to follow the directions that I and the manager told him! The barber was just like of well. He even asked me to pay him afterwards! He also left what was left of my hair in funky shape that has way too much hair on the top in relation to the bottom. So basically all the years of growth down the drain and money lost on a job they screwed up. If you have large afro just don't go here because they won't know what to do with! read more

My barber in LA had an emergency that kept me from getting a fresh cut before coming home to Maryland for an important event. Needless to say, finding a suitable place was a top priority and Supreme Cuts came through for sure. My fade and beard trim are exceptionally crispy and a bystander wouldn't even know I had a sub. If I still lived here, Supreme Cuts would 100% be my spot and it's comforting to know I can get "Hollywood" quality right down the street from Mom's. read more

Came here after a long day of traveling to Maryland with my two boys and my daughter. I chose this place because it had good reviews and the photos were promising. When I stepped in the place was nice and clean. The owner was in the first chair and doesn't greet people so I said hello and asked if anyone could cut my two boys. He grudgingly said yes and told me to sit down. He was extremely off putting but I was there already and decided to stay. He made me feel as though I was annoying him just being there. I don't know what that man's problem is. He is extremely unfriendly and doesn't make a newcomer want to patronize his establishment. So my sons and I waited for almost two hours, totally understandable as the barbers had appointments and the shop had people waiting before us. My older children were hungry at this point and had been traveling since 4 am (it was 6 pm at this time) so I got them something to eat and had them eat outside of the shop. My 14 year old son went back in and began waiting again. My 6 year old son was sleeping so I woke him and took him to get something to eat as well. Soon after I walked out, my older son was called into the chair. He texted me to come back in because a barber was ready for my younger son so I hurried it up. I went back in about 3 minutes after my text and someone was in the chair again. Fine, first come, first served I guess even though we were literally 2 doors down and had been waiting for two hours. When I walked in, the owner in the first chair rolled his eyes and let off a "humph" as though he was annoyed with our presence. This pissed me off because here I was from Boston in his shop ready to give him my money and he has a nasty attitude. I allowed myself time to calm down and asked him about it about 15 minutes later when he attempted to give me a card and said "make an appointment next time". When I told him about his nasty attitude and how I don't live in Maryland but wanted to give his shop a try while I was in town , he acted shocked and as though he didn't know what I was talking about clearly not used to being called on his crap. I said "ok, well maybe I'm tripping" (knowing I wasn't but he refused to own up to his rudeness and told me he greeted me upon my arrival (he did not) and was polite etc... He damn sure wasn't polite and even had the nerve to add "maybe you are tripping". When I left someone followed me to the parking lot and let me know he's alway like that and people say he's rude all the time. No bueno. He did a good job with my son's shape up, hence the two stars, but his attitude sucks. I would never go here or recommend this shop because the vibe is terrible. read more

After having my old barber move to the west coast I was on the lookout for a new barber. Many other barbers I went too butchered my hair but Angie came to the rescue. She not only fixed my hair but gave me one of the best cuts I have ever received. I have been going to her now the past few times I have gotten my hair cut and now my hair looks the best it has ever been in my life! She is very personable and is very easy to talk too. She listens to what you say and puts 110% into every cut. I have found my barber and I couldn't be happier! The shop it's self is clean and well organized. I haven't seen anyone walk out of there with a bad cut! The entire staff is friendly and they seem to have a lot of regulars, which is always a good sign for barber shops! read more

Let me start of by saying that my son (2yo) hates....I mean HATES getting his haircut. I decided to hold off on reviewing until I came back for a 2nd time and I am so extremely pleased! Jack cuts my sons hair and does a great job. He's extremely patient with him and my kid looks like a new boy once he hops out of that chair! Barbers, that are good, have a great ability to completely change the way people feel carry themselves after getting a fresh cut. Mark does just that. After I leave his chair, there is a certain "swag" that makes my confidence exude with confidence. Not only is Mark good at what he does, he's very personable and easy to talk to you. This location is tucked away in a shopping strip on Washington Blvd. Be prepared to deal with getting in the parking lot depending on what time of day you go. Traffic seems to be heavy if you're turning left off of Washington. Overall, great kid friendly establishment with excellent customer service and good people. read more

Finally!! Finding a good barber is not an easy thing to do when you are new to an area. I am so glad to have found this shop. The atmosphere is professional and pleasant. My barber, Ronnie, is on point. I highly recommend this shop to anyone that is tired of the hurry up, get in, get out barbers who take no pride in their work and conduct themselves unprofessionally. Wasn't greeted or acknowledged for over 1 hour. Barber was rushing, and gave an uneven sloppy haircut. When I asked him to fix it he hardly made a change, I eventually gave up on him. Worst 20 dollars I have ever spent. Wont ever return or recommend to anyone. read more
