I came in 2 days before a party and I wanted a new look Karissa gave me the worst haircut of my life. I wanted a bob and I left looking like a boy. Thank God I had a nice lady in the village West salon fix it for me and she stacked the back for me it layes amazing she did a Beautiful job. I loved it. I'm a retired hairdresser who recently moved to this area. I went to Hair Friends (TOMS RIVER, NJ) and had a consultation with Marianne for a haircut. She was RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL! I've worked & trained with some of the best hairdressers in NY, NJ, FL and Europe. I've never seen such disrespectful behavior towards a potential client, (no matter what the circumstances are), from a hairdresser who claims she was an "educator". It's "hairdressers" like Marianne who set a poor example of "professionalism" in our industry.. Shame on her! Stay away from this BULLY. read more

My mother introduced me to Hair Friends about a year ago and I've been going their ever since. It really is a great place to get your hair cut, super friendly staff, good atmosphere and the staff knows what they are doing. Its definitely not your "5 dollar haircut " place and respectively so, its worth every penny and I have not left here unhappy. They have won all sorts of awards like, readers choice from the Asbury Park Press. Given the quality of service I'm surprised they have not yet been rated. Bottom Line: Its a bit on the pricey side but worth every penny, I'm sure you'll leave here satisfied. read more

Great experience here staff was friendly and my stylist Jasmine was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I usually go to barbershops for my fades but was glad I found this stylist and salon. My cut was on point, she shaved my goatee cleaned up my brows and finished with a relaxing shampoo and scalp massage (they have the most comfortable shampoo chairs ever.) . I will definitely be booking with Jasmine again. read more

WHOSE HAIR IS IT ANYWAY !!? This place used to be good. They are very good colorists I have to say. However, when it comes to haircuts their philosophy is cut it all off.. I went to three different people recently with pictures and the comment please don't cut off my hair like the last person here. It was like they were deaf ! After 4 years here I finally gave up. I recently tried ELEMIS salon in Silverton. The young woman who did my hair never met me before but did exactly what I asked for and did a perfect trim and blowout like my sample picture ! Will never go back there. I made appointment for a blow out, nails and eyebrow waxing. When I paid the bill I didn't realize till later on that night I was charged 22.00 for a regular manicure and 12.00 for the gel polish. Where I came from the charge 25.00 for gel manicure. My nails looked horrible. Not filed evenly polish that should have been cleaned from sides since it hardens up. My hands never received and type of hand cream on them or massage. I also went home with hair that I fixed myself. My hair was dull and as my husband said It did t even look like it was done.. They never even remembered to do my eyebrows. The staff is really nice but my previous hair stylist made me look fabulous when I walked out. I think they should learn to do hair better. read more

Just visited Hair Friends and Company for the first time. Very nice salon. I was greeted by a jovial staff and was taken care of right away. My hair was done by Melanie and I Loved it!
