I'm honestly bummed about my extensions. I was quoted $1200, which turned into over $2000 when I was there. I wanted to get them because them because I just found out I have alopecia, which I expressed to in my consultation. She looked at my hair and said it would work to cover my balding spots, but didn't tell me that I couldn't cover those spots until after she started. This is my 2nd time getting GreatLengths fusion hair extensions at the Hair Fusion Bar by the very talented Ursula. This time we decided to do something a little fun and new! We ended up adding pops of pastel Pink, Purple and Blue to create the perfect cotton candy look. I LOVE the way it turned out and receive so many compliments on it. It is so nice that I didn't need to dye my actually hair the pastel colors and was able to achieve the look just with the extension hair. I was a little nervous thinking that the colors would fade super quick but they have held up amazing! With this new application I also noticed my immense hair growth, which is AMAZING. When it comes to extensions there is no one I would trust more than Ursula! She truly is an artist when it comes to hair extensions and placement. She is honest and will not put extensions in your hair if it's not healthy enough or if your hair can't handle it. She truly makes miracles happen for so many people. Personally, I have tried many different brands of extensions and there is nothing that compares to the Great Lengths extensions. The hair is simply amazing and blends in perfectly with all hair types. It doesn't shed nearly as much as other brands I have tried out and the bonds are the color of your hair so you can't even tell there are there. This is also partly because of the placement from Ursula and the way she customizes the bonds so they are smaller. I usually get 5 bundles of 16" hair and it only takes her about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to complete the service! I couldn't be happier with my service! I have struggled with posting a review for the past month. This is the first time I have ever posted any review ever. I had a Groupon and got tape in extensions in May. I called and was giving a ballpark of $400.00-$900.00 for the tape in extensions. I did my research on the cost of the hair and had a cap that I was willing to spend. When I got the price for 20 extensions I thought about taking the loss on my Groupon because I could of taking a trip for the amount I was spending. I decided to treat myself and I was very pleased with the my hair. I didn't make a follow up appointment because even though the extensions could be reused up to three times, I would need a second job to pay for the upkeep and additional hair as needed. Last month, I was speaking with a friend that is a stylist about my extensions and the cost. She informed me that the average wholesale stylist cost for Hothead extensions was a considerable less than what I paid for mine and showed me distributor pricing. I want to stress again that I was very pleased with my hair and I understand people have to make a living. I would recommended having a consultation and/or have a definitive price prior to having extensions applied. read more

On November 28th I (Chris C) had a consultation for extensions, I didn't know what to expect other than a friend of a friends word. I walked in and immediately felt at home, super comfortable atmosphere, very friendly and professional staff. The salon is absolutely gorgeous, all the furniture is original and designed by the owner (Ursula Sienko), who also is completely hands on! I wasn't expecting same day service but it was offered to me, and I took it. They matched my hair perfectly, in fact one of my colors were not in stock at the store, but Ursula had it at her home and personally drive it to the store, prepared the extensions while I waited which was completely awing! Had a consultation appointment with Abby at Hair Fusions in Mokena. I have to say, she was amazing! Even though I wasn't scheduled for same day services, she still took her time to show me the difference between the different options in hair extensions. I didn't feel like I was being 'pressured' into a decision. I would have been very comfortable booking with Abby and Hair Fusions. Their prices are great, and with my experience in getting hair extensions; you truly "get what you pay for". I believe this place would be well worth the investment. When you're dealing with extensions, it's easy to get scammed. I've seen it a lot over the years. Working with Ursula has been a breath of fresh air. I show up early to get everything done (keratin and color included), and I know from the moment I come in the door that I am free to relax worry-free. I've had nothing but bad experiences with tape-in and hot fusion hair extensions until I found Ursula's Extensions, Hair Fusion Bar located at 409 West Huron Street. What an amazing, professional and talented group. The entire experience from consultation to installation is second to none! Consultation with Ursula: A knowledgeable, friendly and patient professional that spent the time to provide a thorough consultation that made me feel confident about my decision to give hair extensions another try. I never felt rushed through the consultation or pressured to purchase extensions. . DETAILS: There was an open dialog during which all of my questions were answered and everything was discussed and explained from choice of extensions (e.g., hot vs. cold fusion - there's even a hair training head with the various installation methods so you can see and feel them before making a decision - brilliant idea), extension customization for different client hair textures, cost, daily maintenance, recommended products for maintenance, my previous experience and likes/dislikes regarding same. Which was immediately followed by the fun part of picking the color/length because I had to give hair extensions one more try with Ursula's at the Hair Fusion Bar. I stated my wants and needs and received thoughtful opinions and guidance re: what color/length would look best on me - like a good girlfriend would give. Pre-Installation Prep with Rose: If you want to die and go to heaven get your hair washed by Rose while lounging in Hair Fusion's shampoo beds. Extension installation with Mackenzie: A knowledgeable and friendly professional that took into consideration my styling preferences, my lifestyle requirements (I wear glasses - I didn't even think about this) and overall wants/needs. She provided expert installation of my hair extensions so that other than waking up with glorious long hair I barely notice them. I am thrilled with her work and know that I will be thrilled for the life of the extensions because she took the time to get to know about me and factored my daily life requirements into the installation. DETAILS: Prior to arrival the bonds were trimmed for my fine hair texture. The installation started with questions: where do you part your hair? Do you wear glasses? Do you like to wear your hear up? Etc. This was a first for me but I don't know why - how wonderful to have customized extensions AND a customized installation both of which have already had a profoundly positive impact on my hair extension experience. Once we were done with the initial questions, there was final prep on my natural hair (trimming of the ends) and then the installation began. I purchased 7-bundles of Great Lengths Ombre for installation which have these small, almost invisible, bonds and a perfectly matched texture. Each extension was meticulously installed which took several hours not that I noticed. I had the pleasure of great conversation, laughs, I was checked on to ensure my comfort and was asked follow up questions as the look started to take shape and the artistry of the installation was coming into play. The time flew by and throughout the entire installation, I never felt any pulling or tugging on my hair, pain from heating the bond and/or discomfort of any kind. The work was done quickly yet thoughtfully and all of the time and consideration necessary to ensure a beautiful result was given to my installation. I could go on forever about what an overall positive experience this was, how phenomenal the professionals at Ursula's are and the product Great lengths is. If you are a first timer or fed up with wasting money on uncomfortable/unmanageable extensions you should give Ursula's Extensions, Hair Fusion Bar a try.
