Or maybe, it's because the only time I've been in here was just after getting my eyebrows done in Beauty World and just before going to work in the shoe shop. If you've read my Beauty World review you may know that these were not the best circumstances - dashing in to get some quick beauty/hair treatments on the way to work. The result being that I turned up with hair still slightly wet and red, puffy eyebrows only find that the owner of the shop was in. Nightmare scenario. Despite, this uncomfortable memory association Hairport gets four stars. It is relatively small but is well staffed and this means you get taken quickly. Furthermore, the staff are pleasant, efficient and only take an inch off when you ask them to take an inch off. This may sound boring or unimportant yet it's something which rarely happens. In my experience too many hairdressers are too snip happy. Other good points about this business has got to be it's location (for me anyway), the opening times and the reasonable prices. They also have a board of special deals in the window which look good and were very tempting. Though, after completely ruining my hair through repeated dyeing in my teenage years, I'm quite reluctant to reach for the dye again. But when I do finally face this fear, I most likely will take advantage of one of these cut and colour deals.

All the staff were very friendly here and you didn't feel in the least bit intimidated or awkward as you so often do on your 1st visit. Really, Really Pleased. The other staff are very friendly and helpful and I've always had a good haircut here. They are also really good with children and do childrens' cuts for a fraction of the price elsewhere. I always feel welcomed into the salon and always get a cup of tea and biscuit or a glass of wine over the festive season. Prices are maybe a little on the high side considering this is a local little salon but I don't mind paying them as the staff are so nice.

There I discovered Xanthe, and it's been her every since. She's fab, and provides a wash, cut and dry for 25 quid. I've been in a few times in my 10 months in Glasgow and haven't been to anyone else there! I have definitely seen men and women in there getting cuts, so it's not just a lady-salon! Please note, they only take cash - there's a cash machine on the wall about two doors down, next to the coffee shop.

Of all the hairdressers in the area JR's is well and truly bottom of my list. They may have a fancy…read morelittle nail bar in the corner and they may give you a nice head massage when you're getting your hair washed but I am not fooled by any of it! This place is all about making money and they don't even attempt to hide it. I used to get my hair cut and coloured by the salon director and the last time I did I left in tears and never returned. I immediately went to neighboring salon Canvass and they fixed it pronto for a fraction of the price. Whenever I went to JR's I would barely be in the door before they were trying to get me to do all sorts of things to my hair that I didn't want done. There is no such thing as "just an inch off the bottom" at JR's. They give you the hard sell and convince you that you really do want to go from ebony black to platinum blonde even though the thought had never entered your head before. Also I was often left sitting with dye on my hair for a lot longer than was needed and often had to remind the staff that I was there! What's more is that I had no idea why considering the place is practically empty most of the time! My least favorite thing about JR's though is that they push products on you like nothing I have ever seen. As soon as you agree that, hmm yes I supposed £15 is reasonable for a 250ml bottle of shampoo, they are saying, well you can't have the shampoo without the conditioner, and the hair serum, and the weekly nourishing treatment! Before you know it you have spent a small fortune on products which are no better than something you could get from the supermarket. Or maybe it's just me. Maybe I should just grown some gonads and tell them I don't want their stupid products!

The staff were so nice and the price was the best i could find in Bishopbriggs area of Glasgow. The salon was clean and tidy and i would definitely go back again.
