He put so much attention into my hair, specific issues, how it had been colored in the past, and I ended up with what I think is the best color I've ever had! My 20 year old daughter was with me and she agreed. Really beautiful highlights, toner, and treatment for my damaged hair. The cut was equally great. It's always nerve wracking to find a hair stylist in a new city and trust that it's going to work out ok, but Olti absolutely exceeded what I thought I might be able to find. The receptionist was really kind & accommodating and found a hairstylist (Jenn) that fit me in last minute. I absolutely loved Jenn, she was very professional and made me feel comfortable right away. I love my fresh haircut! The salon is super clean and covid protocols are in place which I appreciate very much. This was my first experience with the salon, but it won't be my last!

I was given 2 options covering all goals discussed - 1. start off with highlights/lowlights/gloss or 2. Start off with a gloss. I chose starting with a gloss. After the gloss was washed out I noticed grays and asked about it. It was then I was told, "a gloss doesn't cover grays. We'd be lucky to get 30-40% coverage with a gloss." After getting home I now realize the gloss isn't even and pulled reddish. I did leave without a blow dry out of frustration so in all fairness I'm sure they would have adjusted that had I stayed. But also, I figured it would probably be fine since it's a gloss but not the case. The manager did offer for another appointment with the owner or another stylist but I declined and they did not charge me. Just posting to help another person avoid this.

The first time I treated myself to a good haircut was in 2004 when I visited then-junior-stylist Megan at another Boston salon... I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks. Now, I won't go to anyone else for a haircut. I have an appointment with Megan every 5-6 weeks. It's like therapy for me. She's not just a fantastic stylist - she's also just a fun person who's very easy to talk to. She knows her stuff and pays attention to detail - there are no cookie cutter haircuts in her salon. Pre-COVID, Revive was always hopping - the banter between stylists was refreshing and engaging. I'm definitely looking forward to being in that environment again post-COVID. Even now, during COVID, it's exhilarating and therapeutic to go to Revive - the safety protocols and cleanliness make me feel safe, and I enjoy every moment. Men - go see Megan. I showed up to my appointment on time and waited a few minutes while he finished up on another customer, but a wait was expected since he's a one-man salon. I showed him a photo of the kind of long layers I wanted and he was able to provide without any issues. He also asked if I wanted to thin my hair since it's super thick in the back, which I appreciated, since I had forgotten that was an option after having not been to a salon in a while. Overall my session was about 40 minutes, which included the cut, wash, and blow-dry/styling. It came out to $48 (not including tip), which is his baseline for women's haircuts. I would definitely recommend coming here! Just be sure to call ahead because he doesn't take walk-ins.
