The pedicure itself was lovely but the environment leaves a lot to be desired. I booked a pedicure for myself and a friend 24 hours in advance. They took us 10 minutes late and didn't seat us next to each other. It is also a hair salon so there's a constant noise of hair dryers. After the pedicure they sat me by the entrance for my feet to dry under the fan next to a woman getting her hair done and the smell of the hair dye was nauseating. Not the relaxing vibe I was looking for.. My toes came out great, loved the sugar scrub and massage. If you aren't looking for a relaxing pedi, this place will get the job done! read more

I had my haircut by the owner a few months ago. The owner stopped several times to take phone calls and ring up other customers. A 30 minute haircut took about an hour due to the constant starting and stopping. I wished another person was available. She also cut my hair shorter and shorter every time she returned to me. And I asked if she could stop and she said she needed to cut more. It was pretty frustrating. At the end, when I had to pay she waited and watched me choose a tip %. Owners should not receive a tip. I tipped 20% because she wouldn't stop staring. And she was certainly disappointed that I tipped 20%. She earned a 0% tip for her services and "care". She should not be cutting hair. Be a host, ring up sales, and manage. Also, each time she came back from ringing people up, she'd run her cash-covered hands through my hair. Very gross. read more

I usually come in here for a wash and blow dry and they straighten my hair and although every time I go they charge me a different price depending who is sitting at the desk I still like to get a hour of pampering. Today I went in and asked to get my hair colored I was a little nervous since I've never had my hair dyed here before ... I was told to pick a color from the wall which was odd I just wanted a brown to cover a few stubborn Greys..I pick a color which looked brown to me the gentleman doing my hair did a good job until the end when he started blow drying my hair was red! I am in college now and still leave super satisfied with the unbeatable prices and always feel confident with how I look. I am very much surprised with the negativity of some of the reviews. Much of their experiences come from an ignorant place, blaming their dissatisfaction on language and communication. This is the worst salon I have ever been to. AVOID AT ALL COST. Let's talk about the actual haircut, she didn't wet my hair before cutting so basically half of it was cut off and half was pulled off. I have pretty straight hair but you still can't just take a comb and pull through it. So after enduring the haircut in which I was basically crying by the end even though I told the stylist (who by the way is the owner), the haircut is so terrible I do not know what I can even do to fix it. Also she tried to first use a electric razor to cut my straight hair!!! AN ELECTRIC RAZOR!!! I insisted that she use a pair of scissors. Second she is probably the rudest stylist I have ever met in my life. She would pull my hair then just walk away to talk to her co-workers and then come back five minutes later and resume. At the end she started calling her children on the phone to chat and was cutting my hair without looking at it. AVOID THIS PLACE AND SAVE YOUR HAIR. Yee.... For reference, I was here for a mani/pedi on Thursday--one week ago today. I didn't see any autoclave action here. My regular salon sanitizes and individually packs nail tools for the next use, which puts me at ease. This place has shower caddies full of tools touching each other. I can't verify if these get cleaned after each person as I was the only person in the chair at the time getting a pedi. After the foot bath is drained, a quick spray of Clorox and a splash of water and it's apparently ready for the next person. Take that how you will, I wasn't in here too long and didn't see anyone else getting a foot service, so if this is unsettling, take your chances going in if you want. On to mani, same tech who did my pedicure did my manicure. They bring out a glass candy dish like thing filled with water and those fish tank gem-like stones in it to soak your hands in. I doubt these are sanitized after each use and here's why I assume: the cuticle clipper that my tech brought out to use on me had a skin glob on it. She quickly wiped it off on her apron, but damage was done and I saw it.......so if something that major isn't clean, why think the small bits are cleaner?? In addition, during the manicure, after each coat of paint, you are to place your hand in front of a fan to speed up drying. This leads to the polish bubbling. Boy, were my nails bubbly after this service. On top of that, all but two of my nail tips have chipped and I have chips by my cuticles, too. Two stars because my toes still look just fine. read more

I have been going here for wash and blow dry's regularly for over two years. I have always been pleased. But of late, I have been unsatisfied with my hair. I will tell them I don't want it straight ironed and they always try to do it. Also, they increased their prices in July which is fine but last week they tried to charge me more money again! In the past three weeks they have tried to charge me $20 then $25 and last week $30!! They are very convenient as I never make an appointment but I find they are becoming greedy and their quality is declining. Curly girls steer clear! I went in for a trim upon the recommendation from a co-worker. She raved about their head and neck massage that comes with the wash/cut. Oh me, the guy was so rough it was thoroughly unenjoyable. He used his nails and had no finesse or any kind of awareness that it wasn't enjoyable. The shampoo consisted if some sort of liquid which foamed and was performed at the chair, rather than at the sink. Furthermore, he cut more than I asked him to and didn't use ANY product while blowdrying my hair. He said he was going to blow dry it straight (he asked and I said I didn't care) but my hair became this overwhelming frizzball and he resorted to the curling iron to tame it. At the very end he ran some antifrizz serum, but it was too late. By the way, my hair us shoulder length and wavy. The only thing he did right was stay with the same style cut I had, but all in all I will not be returning. read more

Went in as a walk in in a desperate pinch, my hair was a mess (black roots and about 2 inches of dead ends)! Linda knew exactly what to do, she did my roots which were badly grown out, then a partial foil and cut. I am pleased to report she nailed it. I am so relieved. The other employees were also super helpful! I'll be returning on the regular. First of all, the workers don't speak English and how can you run a business where you cant even communicate with your clients. The girl who cut my hair ignored what I had asked, which was to trim the split ends and take out a little volume off since I have alot of hair and it's curly. She took all the volume off, left me looking choppy, and like a wet cats hair. My hair looked worse than when I walked in. This place should be ashamed of themselves and hire people who are competent in cutting hair. If you can't do it, just say so. Don't go here or you will regret it, trust me! I go here all the time for pedicures only. They are super nice. I see people complaining about old polish. Bring your own! Why would you want to use polish that everyone else uses anyway? Came here for the first time on a whim after calling to see if they would book me in (same day) for a facial. Luckily they were able to a couple hours before closing. They have multiple options for facials with different price ranges from $38 and up. I decided to go with a hydrating facial ($68). I asked for a very simple, clean updo but they advised against what I wanted (which is okay) and made me look like a MESSY 90s prom queen (not okay) I gave them images in the beginning, spoke to my hair dresser mid way, and had to stop her before she finished because it was nothing like what I wanted as a guest of a wedding. Another hair dresser (assuming owner or more senior staff) took over and tried to fix what was already done while justifying what the previous stylist did. I was pressed on time and had to deal with the results. I had a mess of a birds nest all day long. Please learn from my lesson...one star for treatment of patrons, one star for trying to make it right, no star for talent or speaking up when they can't deliver what's asked. Good luck. read more

The first time I had my hair done here about 9 years ago it was fine. The second time I got my hair done here it was not fine but I attributed that to walking in on a busy Saturday. (They do a lot of walk-in business). On Friday 4/11/14 it was a disaster. I asked for color, cut and blow dry straight. The color did not cover all my gray and wurst of all I said I wanted shoulder length hair and he heard "do whatever you want". I got choppy chin length hair with layers in the back. If you are going to cut 5" off someone's hair I think you should be sure the client wants that. Not recommended, sorry. And it was not cheap $80. for color cut and blow dry straight. Life lesson- Don't go to a hair salon where they don't speak your language perfectly. read more

the people are super nice i got a full set of acrylics and everything was swell until the nailpolish. their polish is old old old, so its too thick and gummy to dry. they dont toss it, they just add polish remover to thin it out..i witnessed this..also, they dont have nail dryers. you have to sit with your hands poised in the air in front of a tiny fan that does nothing. also a kind of sloppy cramped environment, and not familiar with different polish designs bottom line, great set of acrylics, totally horrible polish job that fell apart after i left so i had to redo it when i got home, i wont be going back read more

My friend and I made an early weekend morning appointment to get hair updo at Kimarie. They opened the salon extra early (like 7am) for us. The girl who did my hair looks very young (like 17 or 18?) but she's actually pretty good. She made the style I wanted in about 30-40 minutes and it lasted all day and all night --- it still looked good when I got home at 11pm. The owner, a middle-aged woman, did my friend's hair and it's not bad either. My friend has a short bob, but the salon owner was able to make her hair looked a lot longer. The previous salon I had gone to for a full set with French tips totally didn't listen to what I had requested. Saw this salon driving home a few days ago & thought I would give it a try. The technician that did my fill didn't speak or understand English, and the lady at the desk had to come and translate. I thought I had made it clear that I wanted a fill, that I wanted the nails on my fingers, but not on my thumbs shortened (which the previous salon did backwards), and then just a clear gel polish. At first she got ready to remove the previous tips, which the cashier stopped. At the time I though she had done a nice job filling, but she tried to put the polish on before shortening the nails, then tried to shorten the thumbnails as well. It wasn't until I was out in the sunlight that I noticed a definite crater in my right thumbnail. Most of the nail techs I have gone to have been Vietnamese or Chinese, which is fine, but they really need to speak & understand English! read more

I find the owner and her staff to be friendly, I do wonder how many of them are actually licensed. The time they allot you is decent and the massages are terrific! The language barrier is a problem. When you relay what you want done to someone that doesn't speak fluent English, the owner or daughter will intervene; hopefully they relay the information to the hairdresser correctly. Much of the clientele is English speaking, there has to a balance of fluency-comprehension to lessen the language barrier in order to accommodate the customer(s).
