Cataldo's was referred to me by a friend and I am so glad I took her advice. Having long hair I went in to see Sheldon for a change. Taking off 6 inches of hair, giving me some layers and taking out some of the bulk (I have extremely thick hair so she was able to thin it out to be more manageable) I was extremely happy. Although my other half is in the process of moving to Brisbane-I will be looking for ways to get back down to Canberra for future cuts! Thank you Cataldo's and Sheldon!

Beautify is a secret I don't actually want to share, but for the benefit of the lovely business…read moreowner I will let the secret out :-) This is my fave salon because: (a) it's out of the way, where you will always get a free car park right out the front (most people don't know about Beautify because it's not inside the bustling Jamison Centre); (b) they do beauty AND HAIR in one place; (c) the prices are reasonable; (d) you get spoilt with gentle, personalised attention, no matter what you have done; (e) they use good-quality products; (f) because it's relatively new and unknown, it's not hard to get an appointment; (g) it's quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Need I say more?? Last week I had my long hair trimmed, after a beautician-standard head massage, and then blow-dried, for just over half of what fancy salons in Civic charge. No loud music. No pressure to colour it or buy products. Today I had a proper pedicure. I say "proper" because those nail salons in the mall do not provide a relaxing, individualised, or dignified experience. I also had my eyelashes "permed" (who knew?) and tinted, which will save me time in the mornings! Five stars from me. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!
